JOSHUA "JJ" VALLOW, TYLEE RYAN, TAMMY DAYBELL, & CHARLES VALLOW: State of Idaho/Arizona vs. Lori & Chad Daybell *GUILTY*

1580704661510.png

Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

Written timeline of events
  • April 3, 2018 - Tylee Ryan's father, Joseph Ryan, dies. Death ruled heart attack.
  • December 2018 - Chad Daybell & Lori Vallow make first appearance on Preparing a People podcast.

Boyce denies cameras to East Idaho News/Nate or 11/29 hearing.

Linda has her own way and own energy, she isn't on much these days but when I see one I always watch. I have to like her making fun of defendants like Lori and Chad (not that anyone is LIKE them but ya all know what I mean), it is funny yet she never goes over the top and saying nothing but what is FACT as she maligns them, things like Chad's Storm and Lori's lipstick, court behavior, etc. All true. Kind of sarcastic but nothing one could say oooohh how unfair. Well maybe some troll out there could...Calls it as she sees it. ALWAYS worth a watch. She flows, she is quick witted and is never doing sponsor crap or looking for money, not that I judge all those that put real work in for doing that but she never does.

She is always enjoyable and an easy watch.

I always think at times, why watch, I have so little time but even so I usually know the recent news before I watch her and did in this one. Her ending and things about Chad AND this prosecution thing of IF they communicated since no order barred them, etc. was good. Chad looking out his window at the kids' graves, Chad's Duper's Delight, etc... She is ALWAYS worth it even when news is already old news but on this one she is as early as almost anyone.

Not decided on the trial yet but for the upcoming hearing he denied East Idaho News request for a camera. I THINK they may have a court camera that was unclear to me.

The hearing should be one of interest as Prior will be arguing to take the DP off the table and I gather the camera question at trial will be decided. Not sure if televised live or not I just know news cameras were denied, pool camera for news, etc.

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Prosecutors in the Chad Daybell case asked the judge this week to move his trial from the Boise area back to eastern Idaho.

In a motion filed Wednesday, prosecutors in the complex murder case argued that it’s been more than two years since the bodies of 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 16-year-old Tylee Ryan were found on Daybell’s property in eastern Idaho which had garnered intense media coverage, documents obtained by East Idaho News show.

Additionally, prosecutors maintained in the filing that the populous Ada County, where Daybell’s trial was relocated, was itself a place where coverage of the case was “pervasive and extensive.” Boise is located in Ada County.

“The State has always, and continues, to maintain that a fair and impartial jury can be held in Fremont County,” the motion states. Fremont County is located in eastern Idaho.

Should the judge not move the trial back to Fremont County, the prosecutors asked that it be moved to a venue closer to eastern Idaho and one less expansive than Ada County.

<snip>

In another motion filed this week, prosecutors also renewed their objection to having cameras in the court, East Idaho News reports. They argued that the cameras would lead to “excessive publicity” and could cause complications in jury selection.

I hate my cynicism and did not used to have any but when I did not I was too naive but I miss believing the world is a better place and not being quick to believe something is up.

I truly believe all court proceedings should be recorded and not by the archaic system of a human court reporter. And not for the reason that of course we'd all like to see them/watch and I don't even mean live necessarily but not a ONE should not have evidence and recording of what REALLY went on. I also believe all cops should have body cams on at all times while on duty.

I am NOT okay with the prosecution and the judge being against cameras. Maybe with the prosecution it is because Daybell wants them that they figure it will be used in some appeal or something but how can defense yell about publicity if they are on record wanting them themselves? Well they would anyhow but ya know...

And then we have $$$$ and wanting the case back in Fremont. I'm sure Lori and Chad have COST a small fortune to this area but they don't make sense. On one hand they want no cameras because of publicity and people knowing of the case, jurors, etc. you name it but on the other hand they want it back in Fremont where all arguably know of the case far more than in Ada. Prosecutors should be fine in presenting this case in any courtroom so what gives?

Talk of $$$. Well perhaps it is that they want the hotel, restaurant, transcript charges and dollars in their county....Wasn't it this case/Lori's that the judge set fees for records, etc.? \

I don't know but this b.s. money and politics has to stop when it comes to justice. It won't but it needs to.

And it is NEVER the prosecution in most cases that oppose cameras. What gives?

They did a great job trying Lori they really did although Lori and Archie put up no defense to speak of. Still even if they had, pros was great and would have won regardless imo. So WTH is their deal?!

And then of course Prior will argue this back most likely and here we will go with motions and arguments and stuff and possible delays. Prepare, shut up, buckle up and get your case ready. We have had cameras in many trials with no issue. And I think jurors, most, tend to take things seriously anywhere in any county USA so what is the problem? $$? It is set, it is in Ada, leave it be. Can you not win this case anywhere?

Why is this an issue NOW?

I don't know. I'm a bit cranky this morn and fed up with some of these cases but it is probably due to my tiredness/mood.

This one is not going to be like Lori's imo. There will be a defense.

Maybe prosecution is just throwing motions back as defense is doing at them to keep overload and more to fight and prepare but still...

I do not logically see how they can't take DP off table for Chad I don't like it, you know i am never defense sided generally but the Chad and Lori strategy won this one and Boyce screwed up and had to sever the cases and drop DP on Lori. Which also ended up giving Chad and Prior a full look and time to look at what pros had in Lori's case and how they tried it, what witnesses to worry about or evidence, etc.

I expect the DP to come off the table for Chad. I don't like it but don't see how it would not have to be taken off with logical thought, not sure of the legality of it though. Not sure what camera decision will be. I think Boyce would lean to no but he has had a TON of criticism for it in Lori's. And not just from the general public but other attorneys and more.

It makes me mad that we’re getting so soft on crime, but we’ve been soft on the death penalty for a long, long time. It’s very rare that someone actually is put to death in any state anymore. Maybe Florida still does it? Not sure but needless to say, life in prison is good enough for me.

If life was always life these days I could agree on some. I believe those that take lives in some cases should be put to death. Not all but some. Jmo.

This is great! You get to see Lori being processed in Arizona. And we get a new mug shot!

I love watching her being treated like the murderer that she is. This is now her life.

Yeah I love that she had little notice and oiff she went. Booked at like 1 a.m. etc. Interesting to hear in bigger places court goes on all night, etc. Court was 2 or 3 in the morning and then I'm guessing she was taken to her new room.

Her eyes look so weird in her mug shot. I'm having trouble seeing this eternal ethereal being...? WTH?

We have plenty of Daybell going on and to come yet.

Is Justin Lum going to pick this up now that it is AZ. Both he and Nate have been so great in this case.

This is a bit different than what we were told would happen. But it's all good.

18 hours of transport but I don't get why she couldn't have been nice and teleported herself saving them some trouble.

Chad just having a hearing too and Lori having another on this one shortly. The cases that just keep on giving.

She was chatty on the trip. Go figure.

Why would she think the cases would be combined of Brandon and Charles? The woman can't be that dumb. And how many attorneys do I gett? She just makes me sick.

New digs for Lori. High security as it should be.

How many mug shots has she had now?

I’m laughing about you saying she should’ve teleported herself. 😂

I should have said not only save them some trouble but some money too lol. She could have, no?? Lol. They were worried about flying her as in my imagination ya know Zulema could have brewed up a storm and so they drove...

Sorry to be so mean but it also occurred to me afterwards that her bugged out eyes may mean she is no longer some "goddess ruler" but is now possessed and dark as they labeled so many in their lives... I think the good went out and some bad spirit came in Not that she was good or a goddess but in their claims...Did Chad cast a spell from prison. Is this just lack of botox... I don't know but she looks possessed. Dark. Is she a ten on Chad's scale? And no, I am not talking a Bo Derek kind of ten.

I am listening right now to someone read their text messages where they are talking of one of Mel P/B's children and how dark is he because he drew crosses on the wall and Lori and Mel had to paint over them and so she asked Chad how bad he is and how dark!! Crosses?? That's bad?! He is a SEVEN at that point... What is wrong with these people?!! These MOTHERS And FATHERS.

Most of this is Chad's hearing. Long but I listened to over the course of time. Good to know Boyce did not allow a media pool camera but we will get video and not just audio in this one. And it sounds like get to see witnesses and judge credibility as well. So his hearing was posted above and that's not why I am sharing it. She and her husband are not my "go to"a always channel but I listen on occasion. Listen to the last half hour or even 20 minutes. The rest before is basically the hearing which was interesting but again that has been posted. There are a lot of good points in the last half hour and some texts I'm not sure I've heard much about before between Chad and Lori. I have but more some than ohers. And one is the mention of Mel B/P's child. It is just all worth a listen of all their texts for those who can take the time. Last 1/2 hour.
