Very good points. I let myself get away from wondering so much about all that--I mean I never forgot it, both about the church and the family but the focus became the trials and Lori mainly this last how long--and now I've been reminded sharply and I'm not going to let go of it again, not that I did, it just faded some. I'm not okay with almost any of the aforementioned. So I'm not the only one... You think that and tons of people out there talk of both too, the family, the church, etc.

I don't know if I'd count on the church having cleaned house. I've watched quite a bit in the past on the LDS and I don't like to be this way but it is well...... I don't have the words. For one thing very much about $$$ themselves. Other things too. They bring in people from other countries, I found THAT out during another case, and with that comes $$$. To be fair they probably aren't the only one with some of it. Not supposed to talk religion much if at all so the last thing I'll say is I believe in God of course but churches are another thing and the higher ups in most of them and hes of such big orgs is another story... There is a ton out there on some things... I'm not fresh with a lot of it but I know what my takeaways were.

They are the 144, etc. not any of the rest of us and back to what you are saying of course they knew this or some of it for sure. Their own members were doing these things and going to Temple even to discuss such things. The last coming is huge and things like preparing the people and conferences all over the place are part of all of it, and getting money at these things, and in podcasts and authoring and having had visions, all of that is too.

I should probably draw the line--it is hard not to discuss this stuff when it is intertwined here. Not saying Lori didn't abuse it all, or Chad, but it isn't as if they were the only ones or that it isnt kind of in their entire deal, beliefs, etc.

She herself kept saying things like that being translated is in their book, although I did love it when the judge said if she wanted to compare herself to historical religious figures he'd let her was kind of funny lol.

Colby has left that church. So has Megan. I think Rex tries to smooth it over for the church quite honestly and help their black eye...

I think I have mentioned when Lori was in the mental hospital the church atty was calling her if I recall it right, these things have all gotten tamped down, kind of disappeared. She had apparently some outside access... Long time ago, don't recall all the details...

I'm probably not putting things too clearly, just up and a darned very loud lawn mower started at what time this morning!! Irritating. Our grass has barely just greened.

Your points are good and are some of the very things I'm talking about.

Adam himself talked of how she wanted to be special back in one show and how they had some grandmother or relative who predicted something and had visions and so on, predicted the date of her own death or some such, don't recall perfectly. Chad claimed to have such. Lori claimed to have such. Julie Rowe. Visions, visits by their lord. So many. It's a "thing". Lots of "preppers". Conventions that make tons of money. Authors of such things. Heck the Arias case touched on a lot of the same things. Many have.

Yeah, every single person was active in the church. And met at church or temple even to discuss their plans. The Mels. Lori. Etc. Chad as you say was even a "person" of the church.

Of course to be fair bad has been done or some cult thing come from most religions but this is different. Imo. VERY different. Their own rules and beliefs also lend to it I feel.

It's a hard subject but honestly hard subjects should not be avoided, it is how things get out of control in this world imo.

I am a believer of God but I'm not so much into the institutions/church thing. Just because of what mankind does with it. Although I will say the rare time I do attend I leave with a major inner peace despite the people who corrupt it all or run such.

I don't even know what I'm talking of lol.

Back to the point, yes, the family and the church are very questionable. And the church lends to this kind of thing by their very things and lets it go on. At minimum.

THIS trial reminded of some REAL questions.

I'm kind of feeling the same. Quite honestly. So many family members started channels. I've probably watched all of them and at first I watched to learn more about Lori, the family, and so on. I watched a lot of Adam's and Rex's early on and they came on the scene kind of late, and I really never took to either of them. I feel like it is a bit of a trying to smooth over while having to admit some, don't have the words. I keep wanting to ask Rex if he has a doctorate or whatever in his smooth, he thinks wise and sage counseling.... And imo protection of the church. It's just how I feel.

This got SO big the family had to at least face what Lori had done, etc. and face some of it, maybe were advised who knows to save selves, others, church on how to proceed.

I've had times I'm not keen on Megan either BUT she's not on the same page at all as Adam or Rex and if I believe any out of them, it would be her first. However, why do it? They all run start channels. Not like podcasts weren't a part of all this to begin with though was it...

I guess the takeaway is all people aren't stupid and I question the reasons for it too.

YES! I haven't forgotten that but it is funny (not funny) how so much we have had to take in that some things get pushed into the background while we face the more recent things, trial and so on. I also know both Summer and Janice were NOT very forthcoming in their interviews, at least the first ones, not sure how many they had to do with LE any longer.

I have never met her in person but got to know her pretty darned well and is one of the best people I've ever met. In my lifetime. Glad to see you welcoming her. Adam addresses such questions but imo has a way of kind of skirting them too. I try to be fair about him, I really do. Can't be easy to want your family but also want to do the right thing if that's what he's doing. I'm not convinced.

I think this thing got so big some family members had to at least choose church and self over Lori. To a point. I don't know if they would have ever turned on her otherwise.

Well, she wanted fame her entire life and to be special. She's in many a headline now. And being laughed at too. I hope she's happy.

I just wanted to say that Adam and Rex will always defend their family because at the end of the day they are “family”. I dont recall if any of them were ever there for Colby. I mean ever. The Cox family has narcissism running through it. It’s all about THEM. So I just won’t spend my time watching them or taking them seriously.

When it comes to the family as a whole, I'm not going to make a general judgement. The reason is that my family has good guys and bad guys and mixed up people making terrible choices and one who was severely mentally ill. Just a mixed bag. Each individual is just that - an individual. However, as I choose not to make judgements on them as a whole, I don't mind criticizing their choices individually and the fact that Melani BP was that close to the Chad/Lori cult and didn't even seem to raise a hinky meter warning is quite alarming, IMO. I hope I've learned a few things from the poor reactions of some of these individuals.

LOL I think you might have been answered if I read further but emu's name is Cousin Dupree. He is in the basement a lot, comes into the threads on occasion. Just a big awkward emu lol. Not going to tag him as don't need him bothering or scaring you LOL. I want you to stay. He gets loose and runs amok a lot LOL.

I so agree with you on Adam and Rex. I've had very little hint they and Colby are close in any way that I've seen. Kay sits with Colby though, I know that and gives him warmth. And that's exactly the vibe I've always gotten from Adam and Rex as if it is a smooth over with the family and church kind of as you are saying. Adam made some remark I think in testimony, may have been on a show but I think in testimony, that he liked attention too just like Lori...

I tried to be fair and gave them for the first time in a long time about 1/2 hour watch the other night of one of their shows. I found it as usual to nothing of substance and somehow if the big questions were even asked, they weren't shown, appeared or answered. Everyone elsewhere though is asking them or many are in other places, so I doubt they were not asked?

Tresir and I butt heads on occasion but not most of the time and she's very nice, from the UK, and contributes a lot. I think you will like her.

I know this much, each of us aren't shy in opinions lol. So should be interesting.

Of course she is on about a six hour difference time zone so not always on at the same time.

Yes what Roundpeg said. She married Ian quickly and in Vegas same time Alex and Zulema married in Vegas. He also was recording for LE but then he told Melanie he was. Hard to know what to think of him imo. He told his ex some things and she then got worried about their children. He was on with her in an interview with Melanie yrs. back. Does that help ring bells?

Yeah October popped into my head too, I know she claimed it was after when we know he died in September. It was so blatantly a lie at a point.

You know, I get all that. I do try to think of what would I do. I honestly don't think I'd like as Janice did. I'd tell my family member to face the consequences of what they did. I'm pretty certain. IF I thought they were being railroaded or wrongly accused, I would fight like heck for them and perhaps they thought that, it's just hard to say. This all looks worse than any of that imo and it keeps coming back up... Or changing even a bit...

Families are mixed bags, I agree with you on that. Most anyhow.

I try not to generally judge with anyone in any case either but almost all of them seem to have made some decisions that are pretty questionable.

Why didn't Tylee even feel she could go to her grandma that day she was upset that Adam talks of? I'd sure think and hope my grandkids would trust and come to me.

There is just sooooo much.

Definitely to each their own as we just don't know but I just don't trust most of them.

Adam and Rex don't answer any tough questions imo.

I have hope for Colby. Shall see I guess. And he left that church.

I'd hope and think with me that you know me well enough by now to know I don't mean anything personal by it toward anyone but just dissecting what I've seen and discussing.

And I'd be the last person to say we don't have various types in my own family. This seems beyoond that though.

I think I was naive for enough of my life that I try to see and call out now I guess. Gave the benefit of the doubt. Etc. It sure never helped me out. And people like Lori for instance use people like that... I don't happen to see most of the Cox family as naive though...

Just my thoughts, not an argument of course.

There is a lot we may never know.

I'll end with at best I think this was so big the Coxes got to a point they had to turn, do damage control, etc. To a POINT only though.

I get being loyal to family members but there is loyalty and then there is criminality.

I agree on Melanie. She's as slick as Lori or as slick as both think they are anyhow... Her looks will fade too, clearly a big thing with all.
