LIBBY GERMAN & ABBY WILLIAMS: Indiana vs. Richard Allen for 2017 murder of two Delphi girls *GUILTY*

On February 14, 2017, the bodies of Abigail Williams and Liberty German were discovered near the Monon High Bridge Trail, which is part of the Delphi Historic Trails in Delphi, Indiana, United States, after the young girls had disappeared from the same trail the previous day. The murders have received significant media coverage because a photo and audio recording of an individual believed to be the girls' murderer was found on German's smartphone. Despite the audio and video recordings of the suspect that have been circulated and the more than 26,000 tips that police have received, no arrest in the case has been made.[1][2][3]

Police have not publicly stated nor released details of how the girls were murdered.[6] As early as February 15, 2017, Indiana State Police began circulating a still image of an individual reportedly seen on the Monon High Bridge Trail near where the two friends were slain; the grainy photograph appearing to capture a Caucasian male, with hands in pockets, walking on the rail bridge, head down, toward the girls.[4] A few days later, the person in the photograph was named the prime suspect in the double-homicide.[5]

On February 22, law enforcement released an audio recording where the voice of the assailant,[7] though in some degree muffled, is heard to say, "Down the hill." It was at this news conference that officials credited the source of the audio and imagery to German's smartphone, and, further, regarded her as a hero for having had the uncanny foresight and fortitude to record the exchange in secret. Police indicated that additional evidence from the phone had been secured, but that they did not release it so as not to "compromise any future trial." By this time, the reward offered in the case was set at $41,000.[5]

But this happens in every case. It's part of the process in every single case. That's why there are so many pre trial motions.
Exactly. I don't really understand why Cuz constantly goes on about RL committing the crime or KK being involved in it but wants RA treated with kid gloves.

It seems to me the evidence is going to point right at RA.

Last witness who testified today was #Delphi resident Pat Brown, who found Abby & Libby’s bodies. He told the jury “First I thought they were mannequins.” He then began crying as he told jurors he realized “We found ‘em.” Court is done for the day. Jury back Monday morning. #wthr

Yes I read his testimony too and added it to my post # 7912. Police got there within 5 minutes of him finding the girls.

P has 50 witnesses, while the D have more than 120.

So we had opening statements and 5 witnesses yesterday with 3 this morning. Looking at an average of 6 per day should take about 8 days for P witnesses and 20 days for D witnesses. 28 days at 5.5 days per week is 5 weeks and 3 days.

I've been reading up on composite sketches. They usually aren't admissible in court.

After learning that, I feel like its no big deal.
Yeah, I can’t remember where there was a case where a composite drawing was admitted into court. What’s the concern this time?

I haven’t been keeping up with this case on purpose. Been waiting for the trial. I’m totally unbiased and I will ask stupid questions so be prepared.

The prosecution was concerned the composite sketches might be confusing, I think. I'll see if I can find their motion without getting into that dreaded zip file lol.

Here's the first 2 pages.

Stupid questions may get stupid answers LOL.

We have a day off now so plenty of time to get caught up by Monday.

Who wants to bet the D won't have 120 witnesses?

I think P may get their witnesses and case done by next weekend. We have had 8 already so just another 42 to go.

After looking at thousands of composite drawings of unidentified remains, I have to agree with them. People interpret them in so many different ways.
they are often treated kind of like polygraphs - a tool in the investigation but not allowed in court as proof.

I found # 10 noteworthy:

10. The jury seemed super focused & engaged today. They gave the judge at least 7 questions to ask witnesses (jurors are allowed to do that in IN), showing this jury is curious and paying attention to details. They’ll now have a day and a half off prior to testimony Monday. #wthr

Delphi murders: Day 2 testimony includes former Delphi police chief, members of search party

Delphi’s former police chief and two people who searched for Abby Williams and Libby German in 2017 testified Saturday in the Delphi murders trial.

While Friday’s testimony primarily included insights from the girls’ families, Saturday’s session centered around the initial reports of the missing girls and the efforts to find them.

Saturday was an abbreviated, emotional second day in court for the Delphi double murders trial.

Jurors heard testimony from Delphi’s former police chief and two people who searched for Abby Williams and Libby German in 2017.

Saturday’s session centered around the initial reports of the day the girls went missing and the efforts to find them.

Steve Mullin, who is the current investigator for the prosecutor’s office and was the Delphi police chief in February 2017, described his timeline of what happened February 13th.

"I figured the girls would return home. I didn't think anything bad happened," Steve Mullin said.

Mullin said he was off duty when he heard police scanner traffic that the girls were missing.

Perhaps but some will take longer, like the experts probably. They only had a 1/2 day today because they said the next one up is going to be a long witness. So I take that to mean more than 1/2 day just for that one.

Didn't they originally want a three week trial with 2 wks for the prosecution and one week for the defense if I recall correctly? Defense argued that of course and insisted on more time.

How do you see the 13? I went in and only saw the #1. Tried to look further but there was nothing more that I found.
