LIBBY GERMAN & ABBY WILLIAMS: Indiana vs. Richard Allen for 2017 murder of two Delphi girls *GUILTY*

On February 14, 2017, the bodies of Abigail Williams and Liberty German were discovered near the Monon High Bridge Trail, which is part of the Delphi Historic Trails in Delphi, Indiana, United States, after the young girls had disappeared from the same trail the previous day. The murders have received significant media coverage because a photo and audio recording of an individual believed to be the girls' murderer was found on German's smartphone. Despite the audio and video recordings of the suspect that have been circulated and the more than 26,000 tips that police have received, no arrest in the case has been made.[1][2][3]

Police have not publicly stated nor released details of how the girls were murdered.[6] As early as February 15, 2017, Indiana State Police began circulating a still image of an individual reportedly seen on the Monon High Bridge Trail near where the two friends were slain; the grainy photograph appearing to capture a Caucasian male, with hands in pockets, walking on the rail bridge, head down, toward the girls.[4] A few days later, the person in the photograph was named the prime suspect in the double-homicide.[5]

On February 22, law enforcement released an audio recording where the voice of the assailant,[7] though in some degree muffled, is heard to say, "Down the hill." It was at this news conference that officials credited the source of the audio and imagery to German's smartphone, and, further, regarded her as a hero for having had the uncanny foresight and fortitude to record the exchange in secret. Police indicated that additional evidence from the phone had been secured, but that they did not release it so as not to "compromise any future trial." By this time, the reward offered in the case was set at $41,000.[5]

He was coming from Peru wasnt he, not his home, i thought?
It doesn't matter imo, but no I think from home.

If one can trust anything he says,, he didn't want to have lunch with sister and mom, why was that anyhow? Is this the sister he allegedly molested. Did it stir up things in him, is the relationship bad? Then he goes home and bundled up in a way that helps cover who he is on a too warm day and goes out with an intent to rape girls after seeing his sister... Just saying...

Personally though I think A & L may have been the intended targets and he somehow knew, BUT I don't know that we will ever have that answer.

I could see the above first scenario though as well...

I think he was taking back roads intentionally and likely drinking more beer on them. It's a common practice of those who drink a lot but he went that way for cover as well, not the more populated part of the trail area nor the one most used, same with the parking, etc. walking back along the tree line, all planned it would seem to me... The bundling up, etc.

And yeah he allegedly was in Peru and it's still hard for me to dismiss the KK thing entirely... I mean we dont' have every minute allotted for by any means and likely never will.

I don't mean the murder time frame but his day prior, after, etc.

You know there's a lot of laws I don't necessarily agree with and quite honestly I think spousal privilege is b.s. Taking the 5th and not incriminating oneself is ONE THING and a whole different subject but spousal privilege is another. You know parents can be made to testify in cases involving their children, children against their parents too, and I wouldn't class the spousal relationship as higher than those relationships, they aren't even blood. JUST an opinion.

Missing things come from imo that lack of her statements or testimony. Personally I think we'd find out she lied at some point. But I think we'd also find out more about that day than they want known. The man has not a hint of any kind of alibi that entire day, not his mother, wife, daughter, sister. They kept that scope entirely narrowed. The D did.

Well not to sidetrack too far here. I have to get moving a bit at least far sooner than I like to. Next to days are early ones and I will be getting ready AND leaving in the dark. I HATE that and that's a first. Today is a ten a.m. But I need at least a couple of hours ideally and I'm less than that or about that already. If I were the type that wanted to fly by the seat of my pants and be out the door in 30 minutes, I suppose there are those that do it but not me. THey also end up at work without some necessary thing, etc.

He entirely changed his tiime frame and we know why. I do think he went to his mother's that morning at some point. I'm not sure it was to actually see her... Most people would stick around for lunch with their family, be happy to have also ran into their sister, etc. and on a day off. I mean if the trails were not a plan then what's the rush, need to go bundle up and get out there, etc. Not that he rushed with the back way but I just mean coudn't do lunch, had an agenda... For being so dependent on mom and wife, funny he wouldn't stay no...

The very way the D limited stricty the scope on daughter, mom and sister is very telling to me. More is known, it just couldn't be brought out imo.

Now I'm just talking with no real point or more so I guess direction so will leave it.

Is it possible they could bè negotiating on the sentence behind the scenes? Does that ever happen? Eg if he gave up his appeal rights could he get 45 years ?
That would typically happen before or not at all imo. I'm not sure it could NOT be "tried" but he's convicted now. The time for a guilty plea, waiving appeals in return for a lighter sentence is over as far as I know. Off the top of my head I've never heard of such. Each side will recommend sentences and the reasons why, generally the P, strong sentences, the D asklign for lighter. The families will speak and he will if he wants to.

Let's see who speaks of his behalf if anyone from his own familiy, etc.

If he wants a chnance at the judge showing some leniency, he'll admit to and face and show remorse and speak at the end himself. Basically never happensby most. Plus lol his attys wife and mom won't let him lol.

And you believe him? Why would he bundle up on a beautiful day - unless he went home for the box cutter. Also why didn't the D call his mother to verify his alibi and time he left?
Oh I don't believe a word that omes out of the man's mouth, except for his confessions AND a few things that It hink he likely told the truth about as he was worried it could be proven, disproven, someone saw him, etc.

I agree on the mother, why didn't they have her corroborate...? The thing is though it worked either way if he was there, both with his first time frame and his later lying time frame. I do think it "likely" he went to his mom's and he involved both the sister and mom in that (although never verified it) but I'm not sold on it being true either. To me, it isn't the biggest thing though because even if he did go, or did not go, it's what he did after.

I don't have any argument about him getting bundled up. He was way overdressed for a Midwest man on a day like this. So you're doubting he went home and bundled up? Again who knows, but I think that's likely true. I seriously doubt he went to his mother's in all this gear and cover up. If again of course he actually went there.

I have to leave here shortly but we know where he was when it mattered. WE know he WAS bundled up and we know he was somewhere that morning whether at his mom's chilling at home, etc. We know whatk time teh care was on the video and from there on is the time that counts. I'd like to know the rest of course and have corroborated or buested but we re not going to get that. Probably ever. But who knows, the investigators and prosecutors said a bit more than I'd have expected after Lori's conviction and maybe one day we will learn more here as well.

I thought he further stated he got a six pack from his house and drank 3 of them.
I heard about the 3 beers/6 pack but cannot remember when he said these things. Was it in the LE interview or in his Wala/ family confessions from jail?

Delphi murders: Witness testimony may lend legitimacy to Richard Allen’s prison confession

New witness testimony may add credence to a confession made by Richard Allen to a prison psychologist.

On Wednesday, psychologist Dr. Monica Wala told jurors how Allen confessed to the crimes in step-by-step detail during his time at Westville Correctional Facility.

Allen told Wala that he was a recovering alcoholic but that he drank three beers on Feb. 13, 2017, before heading to the trails. He confessed to following the girls on to the bridge and “messed with his gun,” which he speculated might’ve led to the round being found at the scene.

Allen told Wala his intention was to rape the girls but said he was spooked by a van and made the girls cross the creek before slashing their throats. He then covered the girls with sticks and walked out onto 300 North where he was parked.
Here is the 3 beers thing. It was in a confession to Wala. He doesnt seem to mention going home.

Allen told Wala his intention was to rape the girls but said he was spooked by a van and made the girls cross the creek before slashing their throats. He then covered the girls with sticks and walked out onto 300 North where he was parked.

Many details of Allen’s confession match the crime scene, including how sticks were found atop the girls’ bodies. It is unclear, however, if Allen was already privy to these details due to receiving the discovery paperwork from his lawyers around the time he made these confessions.

Discovery paperwork would contain details of evidence associated with the case. The defense also pressed on Dr. Wala and revealed how she had been obsessively following the Delphi case, including posting online, listening to podcasts and sharing details about what she saw with Allen.

But now the legitimacy of Allen’s confession is once again a burning question after a witness who lived near the murder scene provided a seemingly small detail that may lend legitimacy to Allen’s prison confessions.

Brad Weber took the witness stand after Dr. Wala on Wednesday afternoon. Weber owns property next to the Monon High Bridge trails, off North 625 West, that was searched in the initial hours after the girls went missing.

Weber told investigators that on Feb. 13, 2017, he left work and drove home. He said this would put him driving down 625 North and pulling into his driveway at around 2:30 p.m.

Allen told Dr. Wala in his confession that it was a van that spooked him into abandoning his plan to rape the girls and quickly kill them. Weber told jurors that on Feb. 13, 2017, he was driving a white van.

The timeline also seems to add up with the case laid out by the prosecution as phone pings of Libby’s phone have the girls being led down the hill at 2:31 p.m. The phone quits moving at 2:32 p.m."

He was a recovering alcoholic but had three beers. So that was what he said. Was this brought up in trial that he was a recovering alcoholic ? Yet he had 3 beers so what pushed him to that?

I dont' know why but I had it in my head he drank three at his mom's and then I assumed he drank the others after he left. Not sure though.

I think we may have heard it in more than one thing...

I don't think that man ever quit drinking except maybe for that one bit to get himself out of trouble imo. And KA certainly didn't seem to keep him from it, they were in the bars a LOT.

I think even now claiming he is one was for those things being he was facing charges, you know, I'm an alcoholic, I have depression, I have mental health issues. I'm not saying none of such is not true but am saying he uses it and I don't think he likey ever tried to stay away from drinking. It was their lifestyle imo. Jmo.

Yes but was it mentioned in court that he was an alcoholic is what i am getting at. I don't remember it if it was stated, anyone else remember? I will search the thread.

LOL. This is fun.
I'm betting you'd never eyeroll wearing a robe holding a gavel from the bench in front of national cameras ... She's not doing that intentionally. She's all simmering emotion up there. She needs yoga and deep breathing training.

It's my sense that Gull works from fear which is expressed through disdain. Her inability to unemotionally manage her Court - even the clerk - suggests this case is just too much for her to handle. I don't envy her. I get there's good reason for fear. Whoever is the Judge this case must endure, must be up for the public interest/spotlight/harsh criticism. It's intimidating. Gull sat on the bench reaching out/leaning on the P to opine on the old D. That was incredibly unprofessional and inappropriate. Next we see Gull trying to make her Court environment more supportive with the move to replace old D with her known, local colleagues/friends. That's clearly seeking relief from her discomfort on the bench.

I expect the SC won't rule on emotion or personality but the outcomes and appearances of these things; they'll rule on facts and they'll judge ethics, conflicts, impartiality, integrity, fairness and on top of all that ... the appearance of all those things.

I hope the new D has been released from ordered psych counseling for rage in the workplace.

I can't help you with Allen; not enough info.
He's a vet.
He self medicates w/ alcohol.
Might be an alcoholic.
He has a loving relationship with his wife and his mother.

From the above, you've got him figured for a CSA serial killer.
For me, that's a huge leap.
And per nationally known profiler takes on RA ... also a huge leap.
I can help you with this:
Prison confessions on the phone to family members under medication and/or duress ... if later denied rather than reinforced with confessions to one's counsel or other authority ... are frequently overcome in court. Official Westville prison abuse reports speak louder than RA's medicated phone calls.

Baldwin's a creative turned litigator. Read his website. He explains his mission and approach well. (I know a few litigators similar to Baldwin.)
Rozzi's a technician. (my favorite type of lawyer)
Neither of the above are toxic personalities.

I've made it clear that it's absurd to discuss RF accusing him of criminalities etc. He's not a POI nor a witness. He's a victim. They have rules around these threads about attacking victims.

Listen to Murder Sheet's interview with Westerman. He's one attention-needy guy trying to live vicariously through Baldwin. Basic, easy, childish stuff.

Murder Sheet worked overtime to get immunity for their buddy Mark, the REAL leaker. Mark, the dude that actually sent crime scene photos to tons of vloggers. It might be more interesting to do a psych profile on Murder Sheet for having that creep as their source for Delphi.

The gangs posing/covering/"loyalty-bonding" as an O-brotherhood - some of them POIs in the Delphi case - some of them already in prison or out with time served for other violent crimes - are gang members. Garden variety criminals. Simple stuff. See motorcycle gang. What's to diagnose?

Murders "staged" as something else ... such as a fire ... or like a ritual ... are just murders. It's not that complicated. Purpose is to distract/confuse the investigation/truth. Sometimes it works such that figuring out the motive ... getting to the truth ... is quite complicated. But you already know this.

I have to go be nice and not naughty now. 48 hours should do it, right? Hope you enjoy your celebrations ever so much Gran! 🎅
Quite a few posts came up when i seached for alcoholic. This is one and another was this one in my post below.

Every witness who's testified so far in the Delphi murder trial

Some of the testimony. See the rest at link.

In one of their sessions, Allen said, "I killed Abby and Libby. I will kill everyone. I will wipe out everybody," Wala testified. Allen, Wala said, also talked about starting World War III.

Wala, who saw Allen daily while he was placed on suicide watch, said the confessions began in the spring of 2023. At one point, he told her he "made sure they were dead because he didn't want them to suffer" and that he acted alone, Wala testified. Allen told Wala that his intentions were "sexual in nature" and claimed to be a sex addict and an alcoholic, she told jurors.

During some of his confessions, Wala said Allen gave specific details about the crime, telling her he slashed the teens' throats and put branches over their bodies. During a session on May 3, 2023, Allen recounted to Wala what he did on Feb. 13, 2017. He said he went to his parents' house that morning, went back home to grab a jacket, and then went to the Monon High Bridge trail, where he saw Abby and Libby, followed them and ordered them to go down the hill, Wala told jurors.

Under questioning by Stacey Diener, Wala testified that Allen's emotions were at times erratic. He often went off on tangents and, at times, expressed his desire to apologize to the girls' families, Wala said. One confession, Wala told jurors, was stated in "an almost matter-of-fact manner."

Coinciding with the confessions were a series of bizarre behavior, including drinking from the toilet and eating his feces. When asked why he was eating his feces, Allen said, "Because I'm insane," Wala testified.

Allen also seemed less suicidal at times, saying he "could not kill himself because he was too much of a coward," Wala told jurors.

Here's another post that mentions him being an alcoholic and a sex addict. This one mentions him going back home to grab a jacket.

I believe so, I think they covered or Wala did his supposed things he had.

I put the sex addict thing as more notable than the alcholic thing. SOMETHING happened that he ever got such a diagnosis. There are things we don't know from his past, I guarantee it.

The alcohol thing we knew of. Or at least I always surmised it but felt that little incident Kathy took him to a hospital only because it had LE laying off and doing him/them a favor imo.

Imo they both drhnk and that's their lifestyle and in no way was she trying to stop him but going out with him to do the same.

Now sex addiction, that's something ELSE...

Funny to read this post in hindsight as we know now he himself called himself a CSA type of killer, that was his intent, and it was no leap was it.

Didn't read it that close because I see a lot that's been shown otherwise since. Just bits. Missed the alcohol part but just I guess not up to looking for it right now. Maybe in the morning, not sure about then. Saw a few things with eyes not into reading it all that lol sure don't apply now and quit there.

My eyes werwen't focusing either. I need a bigger screen and new glasses I think. Noticing such at work lately too.

If you want to put the part that talked of his alcohol feel free, but you don't have to either. I just coudln't skim all the various stuff right now to find it.

Yeah he claimed he went back home, but like you said whether that's true or not (to bundle up, etc.) who knows. I can believe it but if proven untrue I guess wouldn't surprise me either.

Either way he bundled up to hide his appearance and overdressed and took weapons at some point that day. I do kind of doubt he want to his mother's that way IF he went to his mother's.

Again the sex addict part to me is more interesting than the alcoholic part. Couple that which one would think is something he was diagnosed with for some reason for something he did or some such at some point in time, with his "claims" of molesting his daughter and sister... And the alias. And there's things we don't know here, I will guarantee you about his past.

I'm not making light of it, but the alcohol thing just makes him one of hundreds of such types in that small town. They know they are one but they keep drinking anyhow, so does the spouse allong wit him, etc.

I don't mean it isn't of note or anything but it really isn't much of one to me. Other than at his biggest I'd have said that's a beer belly and his rapid weight loss was due to not having access to such.

I forgot almost he also was a smoker... SOMETHING SOMEWHERE in these past weeks showed that... I don't know if he always was.. Was it his last interview...? I forget. It too was a minor thing but that no one reporters, etc. really picked up on imo but I recall outing this little blip in a report or some such and made a mental note to come back to it but I forgot until now as it was hardly a big thing in the realm of things.

The comments on that last post are hilarious. Well worth a read.
I just now read a handful of the first ones, no way I'd have time for 250+. I think it was. Looks like a good sub thread for all events in the case, etc. I agreed with most. If I knew how to find things and navigate Reddit, I'd probably start hanging there.
