Just guessing, but I think that Le has alot more Info than we do. Like gbear said, coming out so soon saying 'foul play ' means something . Waiting for an arrest now . Each of those cases is so heartbreaking, why don't let them be adopted? I know that's also not a guarantee, but at least the children's chance of survival would be better...those tragedies seem to happen so often 😥
Yah, it seems even before she was found perhaps. Nothing was really said so much as it just seemed like they had an idea pretty fast. I don't know if it was the story by the couple or what, or upon pressure, they saw it made no sense... Maybe talking to others...?

You know, I don't know why but the pillow case of blocks bothers me and did from the start. Even before later hearing the bf broke her toy box. It sounded sweet on the surface that the little girl had a bag of blocks with her in a cute pillow case to play with... I could be way wrong, but I almost have a feeling that pillow case will be found near or with her if it hasn't... It seemed a bit of an odd detail to add I guess... I guess you would add all info you can think of but it still just rings funny to me... Like when someone points something out on purpose... The bag of blocks also gives me another thought I won't voice.

And then later (at least it was later I saw it, not sure when it was said), then we have an added broken toy box... And then he is on there going how she knew or they taught her her #s and ABCs so again there is a three way connect to the blocks/toys... No idea what it means... If anything...

I don't know what the answer is either--where is the mother and her family here? All I see so far is a bf and his mother and they were together like four months if I recall correctly... I wouldn't exactly call that dad and grandma... The mother allegedly left her outside for the few minutes so the other thing is do we have a stranger abduction, do we have the parent, do we have the bf or do we have both... In the case of Thaddeus recently, based on the arrests, it seemed to be both...

Yeah it's very telling that nobody is getting a reaction from mom and boyfriend about their child being murdered. Suddenly out of the media spotlight. Probably got a lawyer that told them to shut up...

I could not catch what the woman said about a board and a door, etc., it sounded almost as if she could not see Maliyah being in the park or something because of some boarded door?

I didn't watch the video but I've read that the door/window was boarded up and/or covered up with a blanket/quilt. Mom said she went back to make food but could watch Maliyah playing. But her door/window had coverings on it that would not allow her to see outside.

Thank you. That's the gist of what I thought but didn't catch that amount of the details, something about a board I heard and something about not believing something because of it.

Yes, they sure have become quiet...

Not much on Maliyah recently... :(

Father wants to know how his 2-year-old daughter Maliyah ended up dead in Brays Bayou

It’s been more than a week since the body of 2-year-old Maliyah Bass was found in Brays Bayou. There’s still no one charged and her father wants justice.

“I never got to be a dad and tell her how life was and be a real father figure to her," Octavious Bass said.

Cotavious, Maliyah's father, lives in Dallas. He wants to know how his daughter ended up dead in Brays Bayou.

“I want the person who did it to come forward," he said.

He is planning a funeral service for Friday at noon at the Sandra Clarke Funeral Home in Dallas.

In Houston, the investigation continues. Maliyah’s mother's boyfriend has been critical of the investigation. Both he and her mother said Maliyah was at their apartment complex’s playground in the 10600 block of Beechnut when the mother stepped inside for a few minutes. That’s when they claim Maliyah disappeared.

“I believe that they are probably close to knowing what happened," said Tim Miller, founder of Texas Equusearch.

His volunteers were looking up and down the bayou for two pieces of key evidence, Maliyah’s toy bag, and her clothes. They didn’t find them, but they did spot a surveillance camera that showed investigators how high the water got from recent rain. Miller said there’s something else they’re keeping an eye on.

“There’s an area that’s being protected right now as we speak in case we need to go to that area and look for some other evidence," he said.

While Maliyah's father waits for answers, he said he just wants one thing for his daughter.

“I just want justice. I just want to put her to rest and get justice for her," Bass said.

The medical examiner has not ruled on a cause of death, but Houston police have said they are approaching the case as a murder.

This one stunk from the beginning. He was saying too much and mom was not present at all nor saying anything. And yes, if this is a current mug shot with that smile, something is seriously wrong with her. It seems it could be, they are both in front of a similar wall. She looks like she is posing for a school picture.

Mom, boyfriend put body of 2-year-old Maliyah Bass in storm drain after her death, prosecutors say

We’re learning more about the criminal charges filed after the body a little girl was found in a Houston bayou over the summer.

The child’s mother, 20-year-old Sahara Ervin, and the mother’s boyfriend, 21-year-old Travion Thompson, were taken into custody and charged with injury to a child and tampering with evidence on Tuesday. A probable cause hearing was held overnight.

There are still many questions about the case, however, including the timeline of when 2-year-old Maliyah Bass went missing and how exactly she died.

After the child’s body was found in the bayou, her mother and the mother’s boyfriend were brought in for questioning multiple times. Houston police said on Monday they again brought the couple in for questioning "after evidence of their involvement in the disappearance of Maliyah was discovered."

Prosecutors allege that Ervin and her boyfriend injured the 2-year-old, and that after she died they put the her body in a storm drain where it floated about 20 miles to the bayou where the girl’s remains were later found.

Thompson, the boyfriend, was in court overnight while the girl’s mother didn't appear due to medical reasons.

A probable cause hearing overnight? I am not sure I have ever heard of such a thing. It almost sounds as if there was some immediacy to this... What we are generally used to is very slow wheels of justice, hearings and trials, etc...

Per Houston PD, yes, those are the current booking photos.
I'm going to be sick.

Seriously? I thought they might be from the current booking but was hoping I was wrong. What is wrong with that mother?? SMILES?? And medical reasons for not attending court overnight but he did?? WHAT medical reasons? She is all smiles, doesn't look sick one bit to me. Even if Covid, put her on screen or whatever to attend her damned hearing! Maybe after her smiling picture, it hit her that she is truly under arrest and the poor girl got sick with, lo and behold, the thought of the loss of her freedom...

I truly thought she was likely driven and placed in the creek or river at the farther away spot, it did not seem like she could float there from the low water, etc. in their area, but a storm drain? That would be a different story and I can believe it in that case.

Smdh. You know, it would still be no excuse but if someone just loses it, is young or was overstressed to the max, admit IT and show your remorse and grief. Face up, it is still horrible, but it will probably be less than first degree and maybe even less than 2nd and you face up to what you did and admit it, it will not bring the child back, but you FACE UP TO IT. But these cases and coverups and her smiles, they are not that kind of case... Smiles do not equal remorse or grief. His stories either... It seems intentional and almost planned since the case mimics many these past months of children found in water and if it was not intentional, the cover-up after certainly was intentional and BOTH seem to have been complicit in that... I am trying to recall, didn't she date him about a whole four months or something....? I don't understand the loyalty to each other instead of her to her child unless they both participated in the cause of the death and the cover-up...

No words, there just aren't words. I am glad someone is charged with this child's death. A mom smiling when she should be devastated. Not that everyone can cry or does that the same or reacts the same to grief but you are arrested for the death of your own child and you grin like you are posing for a picture and you care about looking good??

I just may barf if I look at her again.

2-year-old child missing in southwest Houston, HPD says

The child’s mother said she went inside an apartment for a few minutes while the child was playing outside. When the mother returned, the child was missing.

HPD has been on the scene since at least 9 a.m. Investigators drained the fields and combed the fields near the apartment.

The department has not ruled foul play out. They are currently interviewing the mother and father.

There are no suspects at this time, according to HPD.

I want to tattoo this picture on the inside of her "mother's" eyelids.

‘I want to hurt them both:’ Mother of man linked to death of Maliyah Bass says they deserves to be in jail

The mother of Travion Thompson, the man charged in connection of 2-year-old Maliyah Bass’ death, said both her son and his girlfriend, Sahara Ervin, belong behind bars for their involvement. The couple is accused of killing and then dumping the child’s body in a storm drain in Houston.

“I’m mad because I want to hurt both of them because I feel violated,” said Thompson’s mother Angel Harris. “I feel sad. I feel betrayed.”

While Harris is the not biologically related to Maliyah she said she loved the little girl as though she was her granddaughter. She said she truly believed that someone abducted Bass from their apartment’s playground in southwest Houston, as the couple claimed when they originally reported the child was missing.

“A part of me wanted to believe that somebody had took my baby off that playground,” Harris said. “Now, I’m finding out that all along it was a story, a act.”

“I remember mom was asking me about any victim compensation. I just thought that was a little bit odd,” he said. “That’s the last thing you’re concerned about is anything you’re entitled to.”

Kahan said that sparked him to start pulling up Thompson’s record.

“When you look at his criminal history, he’s had five convictions since 2017,” he said.

Court records show Thompson was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon while on probation, but the court failed to revoke his probation.

Boyfriend of Maliyah Bass' mother caught on surveillance with trash can, prosecutors say

Prosecutors said Maliyah was hit with a blunt object, and investigators believe the child's mother Sahara Ervin, 20, and her boyfriend Travion Thompson, 21, put the child's body in a storm drain.

Prosecutors added that Thompson was seen on surveillance camera with a trash can.

Thompson now claims the child's mother was responsible for Maliyah’s death. Her attorney said prosecutors must give more evidence.

“Certainly, we're all looking forward to getting more information about the child,” Angela Weltin, Ervin's attorney, said. "So far there has not been an official autopsy report to indicate what actually occurred to her."

Total bond was set for $175,000 for Ervin. Thompson's bond request was denied.

Maliyah Bass: Video shows boyfriend allegedly taking trash can near storm drain leading to bayou

A mother and her boyfriend are behind bars for the death of Maliyah Bass, a Texas toddler found dead floating in the bayou in August.

ABC 8 reports that Ervin and Thompson are now behind bars for injury to a child and tampering with evidence, namely a human corpse. Court documents indicate that authorities said Maliyah had a broken arm and blunt force trauma of “looped-pattern bruising all over her body.”

On Thursday, prosecutors said a video show Thompson carrying a trash can to a storm drain at the apartment complex.

Thompson allegedly confessed after his arrest and put the blame on Ervin, claiming that the woman beat the toddler with a hairbrush when she was crying and wouldn’t sleep. Court records indicate that the pair then put Maliyah in a broom closet, naked, and woke up to find the toddler dead on the following day.

Thompson reportedly admitted that they hid Maliyah’s body in a storm drain on August 22. The next day, Maliyah was found floating in the bayou.

More accurate information should come forwards when the final autopsy is complete.

A judge gave Ervin a $175,000 bond while Thompson has no bond.

It is difficult to judge a he said/she said. I felt as often is the case it was him, the bf and he was not her father, and she was her mother (I figured complicit) and it is often the bf or stepdad, etc. However, looking at the grin on that mother's face in the mug shot is really disturbing. Yet he has no bond and she does have bond so it would seem to say LE has more evidence against him yet enough against both?

The part earlier too about her asking about victim assistance?? WTF? And I don't use that F word, I mean What The Ferfluffinmuffin...

Poor child, RIP.

However, looking at the grin on that mother's face in the mug shot is really disturbing.
Yep. Combine that with her asking about "victim compensation" when her daughter had been "missing" less than 24 hours. And combine that with her laying on the ground and fake wailing when they found her body. This woman makes me literally sick and I would not hesitate to believe that she had a hand (or MORE than a hand) in this.

Yet he has no bond and she does have bond so it would seem to say LE has more evidence against him yet enough against both?
I would imagine it's because there are no murder charges yet, as the autopsy isn't complete. They have him on camera "tampering with evidence". I hope she doesn't bond out because more is coming for her, IMO.
I'm not saying he's "more innocent" because he's obviously a POS too. Disposing of her and putting on a show about it. But this woman....ohhhhh she's under my skin worse than most.
