OR MICHAEL BRYSON: Missing from Hobo Camp, Lane Co, OR - 5 Aug 2020 - Age 27

DORENA, Ore. -- Search efforts have grown to find 27-year-old Michael Bryson who went missing early Wednesday morning.

Bryson was camping at the Hobo Camp Campground with friends last week when he wandered away from the site Wednesday morning and that was the last time he was seen.


The search is not isolated to just the campground and surrounding areas. Friends have deployed into cities all over western Oregon looking for any leads that could point them to where he might be.

His family said the longest they've ever gone without hearing from him is two days.

"It's very rare that five days in he would not have reached out to mom, dad, or sister," his uncle said.

The effort to find Bryson has grown beyond just those who knew him.

A facebook group with more than 2,000 members is dedicated to finding the young man.

The man's dad said Bryson doesn't know a stranger. He said his son was kind and friendly to everyone he met. He said he hopes that's the energy that brings him home.

A $10,000 reward is available for any information leading to his discovery, all which was donated to fuel efforts to find him.

It appears there is a "Blaize Powers" that hangs out with the crowd. I don't know if he was at Hobo's Camp at the time, however. It could mean he made his girlfriend mad and it's to get back at him, for all we know at this time.

I don't put much store in this at all. I do think someone putting it on a county jail exterior wall would become of note and cause someone trouble... I guess it is possible it COULD relate but then you stinking arse, come forward with what you know and be a stad up person.

If I were Inn the parents'shoes, I wouldn't get too excited although I guess it could show there are tensions going on bewtween some who may know the truth, but sure would not count on it.

A group of families are celebrating progress made in getting human skull fragments found in an extremely rural area of Lane County DNA tested after 20 months of waiting.

Parrish Bryson is the father of Michael Bryson, a 27-year old man who went missing back in August of 2020 after attending a rave roughly 20 miles east of Cottage Grove.

Although Bryson does not believe the skull fragments -- discovered in the Blue River area -- belong to his son. He said he and several other families with missing loved ones worked together to get the fragments tested for DNA.

"There were human remains found in September of '23. It was a skull. It was entered into Oregon State Labs October 1 of '23. And it has been sitting on a shelf ever since. Those remains could potentially belong to any one of a minimum of three cases that I'm aware of in that area," Bryson said. "As far as a win is concerned, it could still have been sitting on that shelf had we not been vocal. When I say we, it's just not Michael Bryson Foundation, but also Dylan Legacy and the families of the missing loved ones that are up in that area."
