Search continues for missing and endangered 5-year-old in Fruitland, Idaho​

Michael Vaughn was last seen near SW 9th Street and S. Arizona Ave. in Fruitland on Tuesday evening. Crews and neighbors were out all day looking for the boy.

The search for a missing 5-year-old-year-old boy intensified Wednesday as it entered its second day.

Michael Vaughn was last seen near SW 9th Street and S. Arizona Avenue in Fruitland around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Fruitland Police Department said Michael is considered missing and endangered.

Michael is about three feet, seven-inches tall and weighs 50 pounds. He has blonde hair and blue eyes. He answers to the nickname "Monkey."

Michael was wearing a light blue shirt with a Minecraft picture on it, dark blue boxer briefs and sandals.

Idaho Mountain Rescue brought in highly-trained and rescue personnel to assist in the search.

Crews from multiple agencies searched the area near Michael's home by ground and air by drone and helicopter. They also went door to door, talking with neighbors.

Right next to the boy's home is a field where crews spent much of the day searching for him.

Neighbors say they learned about his disappearance about an hour after he was reported missing. They say Michael is a happy kid who lives with his parents and grandfather.

Cynthia Walker was walking her dog as the search was happening.

"At five years old, I don't know that he would wander too far without one us seeing him by now," she said. "There are volunteers, many, many volunteers out searching, scanning the fields and we just want to have Michael back, we just want him home safe."

The rumor mill is flying. Without getting to far deep into that, it looks like the house being searched is NEXT TO the RSO's house. A younger couple lives there, SW & SW.
They may or may not be in custody in Payette County Jail. The man has been in custody since spring. Unclear when the woman was taken into custody, perhaps yesterday.

(Again, not posting names to avoid accusations of potentially innocent persons as nothing has been confirmed.)

I didn't think WM did any longer. It used to be it seemed so front and center if I recall. Maybe it is there somewhere. I'll have to look at my areas in a minute here.

I wish all states would follow suit with that idea! That's great. Do they broker with trucks or companies? I'll have to take a look at that too.

I remember the posters being hung at the entrance, But I haven’t seen that in a long time.

A Missing boy out of Fruitland, Idaho was possibly seen in Pineville, Missouri according to local authorities.

Pineville Officers say they received a call today, October 19 from the Fruitland Police Department regarding the missing boy. Officers believe he may have been spotted in the Pineville area.

UPDATE – Idaho Police say the boy spotted in Pineville, Missouri was not Michael Vaughan.

That would have been an extreme long shot. You wouldn't go there unless you have ties to the area. It's a very remote part of Missouri, Located in the southwest corner close to the Arkansas border.

and Pineville is less than 900 people. I's very, very rural. Mostly known for float trips and fishing.

I recently after asking about it in the past month or so made a point of looking and saw some by the bathroom etc., not at the entrance and they were tiny, not pointed out like in a big way,, etc. Jsut a big thing with teeny pictures on it. Might have been near the vision center, don't recall. But it would never like STOP you for your interest to look closer nor would you ever necessarily notice it on a trip to WM.
 
And the big thing the teeny pictures were on weren't big in the realm of even noticing it. I saw it as I was LOOKING to see if they still do such.
 
I only just now heard scuttlebutt about some charge or another. No time to read or look at right now. Came here to see updates.

More people knew....?

What the heck is this and what happened I wonder.

This is sad although it seems as if answers that looked as if they would never come may actually be coming in this case finally.
