Theresa Balboa's ex responds to shocking allegations:

According to Rizo, Balboa made contact with him on either May 23 or 24, which would have been, a witness told police, after 5-year-old Samuel Olson was already dead.

It had been weeks since Alex Rizo communicated with his ex-girlfriend Theresa Balboa and so he was not receptive when she recently contacted him.

"She just called me out of nowhere and said, 'Is the offer to come up there still open?' I told her, 'No,' and that was it, and she stopped replying," he said.

"From what I've heard on the case, she had already done what she did and she had that little boy, where she had him, and was trying to use me to run away from it," Rizo told ABC13 on Friday.

There was a time when Rizo knew Balboa the best. They were together for more than 10 years. She is the mother of his two children. He said they broke up four years ago and claims it was far from amicable.

He moved to North Dakota and then Oklahoma for work. Two months ago, he reached out to see if she needed help. He said she did not respond.

"It's weird. It's confusing, as the mother of my children," said Rizo. "I know she's had problems. She's had her issues. I know she's had a difficult life. I would have never have thought something of this magnitude would ever happen."

I want to know why no family member of this precious little boy wanted to see him from May 10 to the point where he was reported missing. What in the world was going on? This is not acceptable, I’m sorry it but it isn’t. I feel terrible for the dad, but at the same time, I have to keep asking why in the world he didn’t see his son for that long period of time, Especially if he knew that she was in the home of a woman who had lost her own children due to neglect.

and why he was keeping him from his own mother that wanted him. :gaah:

2020 assault charge dropped against Samuel Olson’s mother

Prosecutors dismissed an assault charge against the biological mother of Samuel Olson Friday, court documents confirmed.

Sarah Olson had been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, accused of hitting Samuel’s father, Dalton Olson, with her car in May 2020 in Galveston County.

Those charges have been dropped.

Olson’s attorney on the case told KPRC2 the decision has stirred mixed feelings.

“It’s bittersweet because our argument the entire time has been, ‘hey this so-called complaining witness is committing a crime himself,’ a crime of kidnapping but we’re happy they have dropped this case sooner rather than later,” said Christopher Henderson, who represents Olson on the assault charge.

Makes me wonder if they were worried about a civil suit.

I actually wonder if the father did not express the desire to drop it. Often such will happen if there is no "complainant" (although the State is the actual complainant) or witness at least. Maybe with the child's death and all of this talk re their lives, custody, his "kidnapping", he is maybe trying to not "go after" the grieving mother/his ex. Or something on that order...

But it very well could be the State dropping it as well but the timing makes me wonder...

Has anyone read any MSM regarding where Dalton Olson lived?
I haven't heard where he lives but got to thinking that he might be on a traveling construction crew that is out of town a lot. Some franchises have certain contractors that travel all over building for just them. That would explain why he doesn't live with his son, but does not explain why he wouldn't let him stay with his mom and instead left him in the care of somebody that lost custody of her own kids.

I don't know where he lives but did see a comment some days ago that he did not have the child because he did not have a car or some such. I stress this is nothing but a random comment by someone and certainly not verified fact but generally they come from info the person got somewhere.

Whatever the issue, he wasn’t able to care for his son properly and he should’ve given him to his mother.

No argument here. I find his claim that he filed a parenting plan and that led him to believe he had custody (as if it is that easy) entirely unbelievable. His grief is likely very real but I think there are more than a few things and choices where he is concerned being whitewashed here.
