I wonder how "near" her home near her home means.

And have to wonder yet about the black man walking with her IF true, was that the bf? Said she was seen on camera leaving the home but did anyone else also leave the home right before, after or during... Or out another door... Or called her out or told her to go out...

Lots of questions...

True but you did read beyond the picture didn't you, that a man and woman were detained? How do you detain someone if you don't know who the victim is?
Yes I did, but we still don't KNOW what happened at all. We can assume all we want to. I just hope she gets justice if indeed what is being assumed did happened. We all know how the media works though.

Yeah, I assume as I do and many do in all cases. It's why I say IF or ALLEGEDLY a lot. Speculate is a better term than assume or more accurate imo.

I definitely could be wrong but it seems to me LE is telling us without telling us so they are walking the line they need to but still more or less giving the info without the details. I mean I'd guess they didn't have to say a man and woman were detained...

But we will see.

IF correct, the hints were there from the start. You have said it in other cases, why was she dressed at that hour???

In others they claim they went missing overnight but then place them last seen in shoes, pants and a shirt, etc.

IF correct, this couple called it in fairly quickly (based on camera footage if at the hour she went missing), just a few hours later called in. They sure got footage quickly, I almost wonder if they pointed out the camera to LE or mentioned it or asked the neighbor if she was on their camera.... Alternatively, she didn't leave alone but it was just never said, only said she was seen on camera... Otherwise I think they set it up so she would be seen.... I do have one other theory there as well but more unlikely...

I will of course have egg on my face if this is some other couple of people...

all the talk of a sex offender. Could he be the SO? That's another possibility.

I also didn't like the time it took to get better pics of her... Maybe not a big detail or deal but it bothered me. And a few other things...

Yep, I am speculating. Nothing new. :D

Smiles end though when thinking about this little girl. She looks prety healthy in the better photos someone finally provided. I wonder how healthy or happy she looked when she went missing or in recent times. :(

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Memphis Police Department said the body discovered in the 200 block of Caldwell Avenue is believed to be Sequoia Samuels.

The mother of Sequoia, Brittany Jackson, is being charged with aggravated child neglect, abuse of a corpse, and false offense report.

Jaylon Hobson, alleged boyfriend of Jackson, is being charged with False Offense Report.

Both individuals have been detained by MPD for these charges at this time. This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information regarding this case should immediately contact MPD.

The remains were found around 11:50 p.m., June 15, in the 200 block of Caldwell Avenue. That’s where police had said 4-year-old Sequoia Samuels, who has a feeding tube, had gone missing early Thursday morning.

Well I'm sure it will surprise no one to hear that I am not surprised. And she is found near their apartment so how stupidly bold to call in when they knew that.

Still wondering about the details of her being seen walking out. Did they then grab her and abuse her? Did they send her out so it looked as if she wandered off and then kill her? Or what? And mom is charged with more than bf...

The confusing part is the video cam footage, the claim a neighbor saw her with a black man who was not holding her hand (so alive at that point, and the claim by some activist that they delivered a sex offender to law enforcement.... I'm going to guess the last one may not be who the offender(s) was/were but who knows so far...

The simplest answer is she wandered off, they found her and were enraged with her and reacted when they got her home but I suspect it is more than that and this was planned? to have her seen walking out and then kill her? If it were only him, I'd picture another scenario but it is both of them. It's odd and hard to understand as it stands right now...

It is the video of her alive and leaving that is so different from the other far too typical cases...

Her walking out is really unusual. I don't know what to make of it. But they are charged, so there must be more. Waiting for more details.....fly high Sequoia ❤️

So are they being held in relation to her escaping the home unnoticed or for her actual death? Hope this gets updated soon

Yeah, I feel like maybe they tried something different. If they have seen other cases where the parents got caught, they set this up to ensure she was seen leaving the home. That's my first guess... That it was planned which would also be unusual, usually it is a case of abuse or a parent or other losing it on the child and THEN they try to cover it up. But then what, did they go get her, and were they seen on camera or did they take another route?

Or did she leave and they realize it and go find her and the lost it with her afterwards?

It's only a few hour window.

I'm assuming of course the video is accurate as to correct date and time and really exists...

Id' be interested in what and who else is on video and I'd also be interested in their google searches (I.e. how to get away with something, covering up a crime, etc...)

The case has me very curious but that does not take away from the absolute devastation this child was found dead.

I also wonder if she always had a feeding tube and some issue, whatever it was, or it was something that came later in her short life.

Also wonder if there is a dad involved, was there a divorce, he was never involved, etc.

I felt or suspected, not sure yet, but immediately thought the nicer pictures came from someone else, a grandmother perhaps for instance. Just a gut feeling. They didn't have a great first one...

I'm curious as to what they aren't telling us was seen in the cameras, too.
I feel the same. If the camera(s) saw her leaving then when did she come back and alone or with who, etc. or who left with her or followed her, etc. There has to be more OR someone eluded all cameras and she did too on her return which is unlikely...

I'm starting to believe that maybe the cameras also show that the parents might have left and she got out when they were gone. Just a thought though and was wondering why they worded it the way they did when they said she was on camera leaving on foot. There was "something" bothering me by the way it was worded and this makes it make sense to me.

Or did it also show that she was possibly home, unattended at the time she left? Or???

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Memphis Police recovered a body in North Memphis while searching for a missing girl.

Just after 9:30 Friday morning, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirmed the body found just before midnight was 4-year-old Sequoia Samuels.

It took it more to mean she wasn't abducted by a stranger in a car, etc. but did leave the home...

In your thought, then what do you figure happened? I mean at some point after that she ended up dead.

This would all fit better to me if there was no video because the way it stands, they had to have killed her, hid her/abused her corpse, etc. in a couple of hour window. What is it about three hours of a time frame?

If there was no video, I'd suspect they killed her a day or days earlier but there is proof of life.

Definitely an odd one.

Or did it also show that she was possibly home, unattended at the time she left? Or???
It was the middle of the night though, wee hours of morning wasn't it? I think chances are good the parents were home. I mean bars, etc. are all closed, unless partying at someone's home and drugging or some such but we haven't heard anything like that.

Jaylon Hobson, the boyfriend of missing 4-year-old Sequoia Samuels’ mother, was arrested in May for two felony charges prior to being arrested Friday.

Hobson, along with Samuels’ mother Brittney Jackson, were found in the Chickasaw Place apartments in May with two other adults and were stopped by security.

The apartment complex is on the District Attorney’s office Safe Place list. The four adults were found to have six guns in a vehicle.

Hobson was charged with criminal trespass, possession of marijuana— and two prohibited weapon charges — one for having an automatic switch and one for having a 3D-printed ghost gun.

The Daily Memphian matched birth dates of Jaylon Hobson to the arrest records in the Criminal Justice System Portal.

He was released on his own recognizance last month and was due back in court June 21.
