Man it seems like it's been longer than that. Still, that's a long time with no credible info and for not locating them.
it sure is.... do you happen to remember the Abigail Hernandez case out of New Hampshire??? talking back in the "jonestown" days on the dark...very dark side of the moon lol.... case was nothing like this but when abby was abducted she was held captive in a terrible dungeon like shipping/storage container for 9 MONTHS!!! hidden away, no one could find her, no one knew who took her but we all knew she did not run away.... long story short she came home alive, literally walked into her moms house looking like she had been through war out of nowhere after being missing for 9 months
my boyfriend and i advocated in that case, went on searches passed tips to authorities etc. i worked in journalism at the time and i featured her case every week. I constantly was in touch with NH state police, NH AG office, the local PD, the FBI and the spokesperson for the family. THAT was a whirlwind case

I wish we saw that same kind of search effort for this child even though we are pretty sure she went with him willingly...because that simply does not matter.... she is just a kid and can not responsibly make these type of grown up decisions properly. This guy scares me.... I really hope she is alive and doing ok until she is found
This is definitely the kind of case that the FBI CARD team (Child Abduction Rapid Deployment) team could have been activated for.....hands down... Instant state of the art technique, EXPERIENCED boots on the ground, resources and equipment within an hour of reporting it ready to go. road blocks, etc..... one phone call could have made that happen.... did the local police not know that this situation would warrant their deployment to help???

I have heard more than once of the Hernandez case but can't claim to have followed it nor know much about it. You just gave more info than I knew of it. How AWFUL.

I thought we (WI) did bring in the FBI or the marshals, do I have that wrong? Or was it just to help with on style of thing or something? Or they didn't?

I have the feeling the case is being treated or looked at differently because perhaps they consider her willing and part of it. I've wondered if they think if they get really aggressive he may do something to her so they don't want to push it too far... Is it possible they have a clue where they are but aren't willing to push...? It's crossed my mind. It seems unlikely but...? If not that, then what the heck is going on and what are they DOING??

AMBER Alert releases new photos of missing pregnant Beaver Dam and suspect

She was three months pregnant a month ago. News might want to get things up to date if they seriously care to help. Such is in the very first post. Actually it's close to a month and half ago.

She'll be pretty obviously showing shortly I'd think, a pregnant young girl with a middle aged man. That many weeks is pretty significant in pregnancy and who knows how accurate the three months was in the first place, was it 3.5, 3, 2.8, etc.?

What are they doing? Have they asked for camera footage or looked for it? I mean to determine their likely route. I don't mean from right there, I mean from others' homes, gas stations, businesses, etc... Is he such a great planner he had gas cans full of gas, meals, for a month in mommy's car, etc.? Did he come with hair color for her and a toupee for himself? Wads of cash? Does he own any property and are they surveilling it? Does he have a camper?? What were his recent purchases just prior to her disappearing?

This one is just frustrating and it "feels" like nothing is being done. Maybe they are hard at work but if so they sure haven't arrested him nor brought her home. She's at least halfway through a pregnancy. Do they both have ID with them? Has it been used?

If holed up, how is he getting food for them??

At first I never necessarily thought her in danger as she may well have been willing and has been with him before but add a warrant for his arrest and a long time holing up and the stress is going to build up and he has far from a rosy past...

Where is the money coming from to stay hidden or on the run? Did they break into some cabin? Been living there? There's plenty of such in WI. If so, many will soon be opening those up. Is he shooting a rabbit every night for supper? Are they living without power?

Seriously.

I won't go into the worst case scenarios but there's those possibilities as well...

I think what's hard is no one seems very upset or worried here... Meaning family and LE... Sure comes across that way anyhow...

I agree. Publicizing her approximate due date would be more helpful IMO.

What needs to happen is a press conference.... turn up the heat and make it look like they are looking and that they WILL get her back..... this dept does not seem like it is even asking or requesting resources

I agree. I would say this is probably typically for WI as to not a lot of sharing, pressers, etc. They have some of the best open records, and they will allow cameras in a big trial (I think more courtroom cams though) but they keep investigations pretty tight and it can make one thing nothing is being done.

However, there are cases that never have results too, so again one wonders...

This one is seeming to have very little going on. But I thought they'd never find Elijah Vue or get progress but they did...

They do NEED to shake something up here, I just wonder if they feel like if they push him, she will be in danger...? And even though she's a minor maybe her willingness has them stepping back a bit?

On the other hand, have you ever seen this one---I would swear they are doing nothing, it hasn't gotten the attn some do, and only 13 and almost two years now.

BUt then I think on our case and they kept things close to the vest and said have patience and that patience paid off. So I don't know...

Think we are all probably pretty glad to hear this finally.

I wonder if we will hear more at some point or not.

Was hard to figure out what was going on since so little news or sightings and now they have him and her. I had to wonder at times if they didn't have some kind of contact as nothing seemed to be being done, and were they maybe working on them to give up and come in... It was all kind of odd throughout but could be just that we weren't being told what was going on and perhaps they were just busy tracking and finding them.

Press Release

On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at approximately 11:40pm, the Beaver Dam Police Department was notified that deputies of Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office responded to a tip of a possible sighting near Omaha, Nebraska of Sophia Franklin, the juvenile listed in the Amber Alert posted on February 3, 2025. Law enforcement made contact with a juvenile, who was with an adult male also matching the description of the male suspect she was identified leaving with, Gary Day. Their identities were positively confirmed and as a result, the suspect, Gary Day, was taken into custody. Sophia Franklin was taken to a secure facility to await re-unification with her family.

The Beaver Dam Police Department would like to thank the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office, as well as the numerous other law enforcement agencies that put forth the time and effort to locate Sophia. We would also like to thank the community members in multiple states for their awareness and willingness to share leads to follow to help bring Sophia safely home.

Says multiple charges across states with WI's the most severe yet he is held on only $5,000?? I hope they jump to it and get higher bond on him, do they have to add the other charges yet?

Nebraska hmm.

I'd not want to see him bond out as I could see it happening yet again. They did not turn themselves in, seems someone saw her. So not like a willing turning self in, etc.

Not sure what the family dynamic really is but I don't envy her parents. She apparently stayed gone willingly and if not, she's going to be pretty messed up too, I lack the words. She can't run with him IF he is kept locked up but I don't like this low bond. And yes, he's the kidnapper, she is a minor but it still seems she was willing, not that she can make that decision.

Very glad she was found though and he arrested.

Thanks for all the info.
