Angela was the clerk at the gas station, wasn't she? Vanished during her night shift?
I don't know. How then would that relate, three women vanish from home in one and a clerk at work in another? I'm not following what @Guess Who means I guess other than another crime and someone missing... I'm wondering myself. So she was a clerk at work at night I take it?

Because both cases happened in Missouri, there might be a connection as to the perp being the same.

From the above article ..."According to Debra, out of all the tips and theories, the biggest lead was about a man named Robert Cox.......In 1996, KY3 reporter Dennis Graves interviewed Cox in prison about the missing women. “I just know that they are dead,” Cox said in the interview. “That’s not my theory. I just know that. There’s no doubt about that.” Cox also told Graves he was at home in bed the night of the abduction..."

Cox's alibi was provided by his then girlfriend, saying he was with her. She later admitted she had lied about Cox being with her that night/morning. Cox is in prison in TX and is up for parole/release in 2025.

I really wish they would fly drones over the Mark Twain National Forest. in the fall when there is no foliage Yes ,it is huge and would take a while. Who knows how many bodies they would find buried in there.

Side Note: "Another Site" has pulled all discussion of the Springfield Three and locked the forum a couple of years ago. Per their statement, it will only be restored for discussion if and when new evidence is available or a suspect is arrested. Media links ONLY are allowed to be posted. Buried in one of those links is the mention that a green Dodge van was seen around town in the days before the Springfield Three's disappearance. Two High School Grads and a Mom Vanished with Few Clues. A Missouri Town Is Still Stumped About What Happened to Them.

The house was a rental. I am very curious as to who rented it before they moved in. Could it be mistaken identity and perps were after the previous tenants?

On the other hand, one of the 3 was scheduled to testify as a witness in a trial, apparently for the prosecution. Which would go a LONG way towards explaining the disappearances/murders.
Oh, that’s right! I completely forgot about one of them being a witness. Is there somewhere we can read about that case that was coming up? I’d like a refresher.

I am drawing a blank as well. I remember so MUCH about this from they weren't in that home long to erased answering machine message to broken porch light bulb to more but I am not recalling being a witness..... ?

I think it's obvious Cox did it. They need more proof now.

I think it was Suzie's ex-husband, but I don't recall that it was a major offense.
That all sounds very familiar and right but weren't these girls graduating high school? She had an ex husband....? I really am forgetting something although I recall almost all else and although this sounds right... Do you mean ex boyfriend maybe? I am a bit lost.

The 2 girls had graduated from high school earlier in the evening. Understandably, they spent the hours immediately after graduation travelling from graduation party to graduation party. The next morning, they were supposed to meet other friends at a certain time and spend the day at a water/amusement park with their friends. Stacey and Suzi never showed up to meet their friends. Friends figured they had maybe overslept, and went to the house and found the broken porch light, purses on the stairs, etc.
Mom Sherryl had an ex, I think. I don't recall either of the 2 girls as married, but I might be wrong.

Everything you said I recall and so I think Kimster maybe just mixed up the names since Suzie was a high school student and Sherill was the mom. In fact I believe I recall just about all about this case other than can't recall what she was to testify against in what type of charge. All else, yes, the water park, graduation, etc., I recall all of that. I recall the purses, the broken light, the fact they had not lived there long, etc...

Yes, I think I mixed up the names. I don't remember the teens being married.
That makes sense. I had to look it up myself to get who mom was straight. It thought it was Sherrill but I recall that because I had an aunt by that name or I would never keep the girls straight from the mom as to names. Any recall of what kind of charge she was a witness to? Rings a distant bell once it was mentioned but I can't recall.

Why do I think some kind of fraud/money thing or am I way off?

Ahhhh... The way it sounded it made me think the older woman was taken at another time from the two girls.
:thud:

this is an old old case. don't get me wrong, my memory is not the best either and we are basically the same age, but all three apparently went missing at the same time, always been that way, hence the joint missing title and that part I've never forgotten. Mom and two kids, her daughter and friend, graduation. Well "adults" as in graduated.

I don't know whether to quit talking to you or stay worried about you. If I get mod snipped ONE more time over you, well it's been nice knowing you and I truly do love ya despite your b.s. But I'm serious. Not liking the b.s. and apparently am not the only only one.

I avoid some threads for the most part. I think maybe that should be taken note of. I'm done with Read. But I guess b.s. went on and sure had not a thing to do with me and please let that be recognized.

anyhow, go make some mushroom soup and get your tail feathers clipped or whatever.

it isn't the most active case but a well known old one, this one. unsolved. Total mystery seriously. I'd hope cops know more but that's anyone's guess.
