Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

21:52 70 year old man who hijacked a school bus with children and driver in 1976 and holding them hostage for 5m dollars ransom. Found suitable for parole. California. He was the mastermind with a couple of others. They planned it based on a Dirty Harry movie. They buried the driver and children in a ventilated underground bunker. It took 16 hours for the victims to dig their way out. The children were ages 5 to 14. His two cohorts were released before now. They planned the crime for MORE THAN a year and all pled guilty to kidnapping. They were all given 27 LIFE SENTENCES but an appellate panel reduced their sentences... Do you think he or any of them should be released?? I gather he is a millionaire and paid little to the survivors... ALSO he had a disciplinary record in prison! Survivors still have issues. Worth watching.

25:45. A man convicted of murdering a toddler in NC was killed in a group attack by other inmates. Not clear if the reason was due to the murder of the child, may just have been disliked...

27:03 Wow. A cop in GA resigned after a video of him went viral. He was engaging in a sex act with a woman outdoors behind his service vehicle while he is in uniform...Video taken by a TikTok user from the top of a telecommunications tower...16 million views! Following resignation, his past misconduct came about, 2019 he T-boned a 76 year old man, in 2017 he shot another cop in an arm and claimed to be an accident... Classified as negligent... And THEN in 2021 a woman who he'd had a relationship with said he was harassing her. He admitted to running her tags to find her new address after she moved... Suspended two days and had to take GA's security awareness training class...

29:36 The Dumb Criminal Contestant of the Day. Ohio man stole $300+ of sex toys charged with theft from a sex novelty store. Officers confronted him, he admitted and cited for theft... He CLAIMS he was too embarrassed to pay for the items... Well I think he will be more embarrassed NOW... The items he took are LISTED... Oh my... Now the whole world knows...

Wow I hope this isn't overhype and it truly is significant. I remember a similar hype in an Indiana case...

Why so long to wait ??? April 5th??? With this kind of announcement and the hype it will bring, I'd say or hope they have "him" and I also hope he is alive and PAYS for his sins on earth here before paying further later...

This is definitely a case many have followed and that haunts and bothers many...

So what to all think or have thought through the years...? Trucker? Works for some job where travel occurs probably.... Salesman...? A somebody no one would ever expect...?
 
This one starts out with an ad/sponsor but it's almost worth it as it has Ms. Winnie the Bulldog in it enjoyiing her CBD treats... Then it is Naomi Irion which it is good he covered although nothing much new in it, the updates we had that she had been found, etc.

I don't always listen past case updates I know but I continued on this one and WOW. After the first case of Irion, some woman over many years who worked for Yale University stole $40 MILLION from Yale and no one ever caught on.... And she was only caught now as someone called in a tip.... Scott makes a few puns about how smart are the people at YALE or not smart in other words....

Quite interesting... She owns several houses/mansions, took luxury vacations as did her husband and was selling items she ordered through Yale to some "business" that hasn't been named yet or so it sounds... Very worth listening to.

Then it is a guy who was hired as a hit man who gets online flaunting it...
