Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

The "beach" where the barrel was found would have been deep underwater, that is how much Lake Mead is shrinking due to drought. Oh, Lake Mead has a reputation for having murder victims dumped in it for decades, and as the lake continues, to shrink, investigators expect to find many more barrels and or remains.

I think like every other profession almost these days, a teacher or principal should never be alone with a student and that is for protection both ways. Just like cops always using a body cam, it protects both ways.

Yes. File charges! An 11 yr old boy does that to a woman. He deserves to have the s*** beat out of him. He doesn't feel bad. What about after that?. Turn the tables. He need a harsh punishment from the justice system so that he doesn't think he can get away with this and in the future. No empathy. Justified his actions. We are looking at a future rapist and serial killer.
