Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

I worked with an anesthesiologist that came from LA. He said (I know this wasn't a drive by.) the only person who survives a drive by shooting, is the intended victim.

It was almost a driveby, except for the fact they stopped and got out to shoot before getting back in the vehicle and driving off. So it was a drive-off shooting.

Search launched for Yellowstone worker missing for 6 days in remote part of park

Search teams are looking for Austin King, a 22-year-old concession worker at Yellowstone National Park who went missing on a backcountry trip.

Easier to spot with "Minnesota" Plates. Unless it was dumped or lost with him also. This doesn't look good at all.

Huh?. I don't understand that statement. I'd have to strongly disagree. Tell that to "Tupac". Was shot 5 times and survived. But was the intended target in 1996, And he was killed. That's one example. But I see they make sure they get who they are after. They aren't the "Mafia", That kills your family to hurt you. They usually aren't that smart.

I'm leaning to misadventure due to time of day and weather conditions when he made the summit. It sounds like he would have had to take that boat to get from where he was to where he parked. He possibly had a ride to the place to take the boat over so his truck wouldn't be parked there, empty for a week.
