Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

I know right? And then the guy gets charged with lewd and lascivious battery on a 15 year old. Is it the 15 year old who told them where this other boy's home is? It almost sounds like it as the other three went to handle it while she stayed in the vehicle. Something is wrong here. The girl sounds like a possession almost, that's not a "romantic" dispute... And what's with the other two minor girls with this 18 year old helping him get revenge...? I don't see anything "romance" in this... Not including the victim of course as I have no idea what happened there but he was not charged with a lewd act on the girl, the perp was... Odd case...

Could be that too. All a person can do is try to read between the lines. All I know is of four teens, none stopped this and all went along with it and they now just affected their lives for good. They hurt two others and the mother is still in critical condition and they had better hope those charges don't get even more serious and that she makes it.
