A 20-year-old soldier stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, is missing, and Army investigators are reaching out to the public for help finding her.

Pfc Vanessa Guillen was last seen wearing a black T-shirt early Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot of her Regimental Engineer Squadron Headquarters, 3rd Cavalry Regiment. Her car keys, barracks room key, identification card and wallet were found in the armory room where she was working, Fort Hood said.

Mayra Guillen, the soldier’s sister, posted on Facebook that her sister’s phone was last pinged near Belton, about 20 miles east of the Army post. “Something is not right,” she wrote, “please help me find her.”

‘Extensive search’ continues for missing soldier in Texas after keys, wallet found

Agents at a U.S. military post in Texas are searching for a soldier who has been missing for three days.

Private First Class Vanessa Guillen, 20, was last seen Wednesday afternoon in a parking lot at Fort Hood, where she’s stationed, wearing a black T-shirt.

“Her car keys, barracks room key, identification card and wallet were later found in the armory room where she was working earlier in the day,” officials said in a press release.

Friends and family of Guillen have flooded their social media accounts with pleas to the public to contact the authorities if anyone has any information.

Mayra Guillen wrote on a Facebook post that her sister’s phone was last tracked on Belton, Texas, about 20 minutes away from where she was last seen. Neither her boyfriend or relatives have heard from her since she disappeared, she said.

“Please help me find my girlfriend,” Guillen’s boyfriend, Juan Cruz, tweeted on Friday. “Please anything helps.”

“An extensive search is underway by military members, as well as civilian and military police,” authorities said. Special agents from the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command are also involved in the search.

Cecily Aguilar sentenced to 30 years in prison for her role in Vanessa Guillen’s killing

Cecily Aguilar on Monday was sentenced to 30 years in prison for her role in the killing of U.S. Army soldier Vanessa Guillen.

“Our hope is that today’s sentence brings a sense of relief and justice to the Guillen family, who have endured such pain throughout these past few years,” said Jaime Esparza, the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Texas.

“Ms. Aguilar’s actions were indefensible, and she will now face the maximum penalty for the choices she made,” Esparza said, “I’m grateful for our law enforcement partners who worked tirelessly on this case, as their dedication was essential in bringing this defendant to justice.”

Great news although if I were her family, I'd always have questions and concerns over it all and his death. A lot of questions have not been answered and why do I think he probably could have implicated some others who at the very least allowed this to go on in the building, etc. The cleanup alone...

A lot has allegedly been changed but I doubt all the heads of the snake have been cut off. Quiet retirements and transfers I'm sure.

Even so, it is good news. And her family did an outstanding job on her behalf and keeping at it until it finally got some attention and then even having to maintain that or try to keep it up until the powers that be realized it was not just going to go away. Ever.

RIP Vanessa.

I watched the netflix documentary last night, it's unbelievable how the family were left alone and got no info about anything...
I hope things changed or will change but I am not convinced. 😕

I need to see that if I ever get some time in life. I have Netflix, pay for it, but probably haven't used it in a year or something like that.

I recall the effort to get attention and I'd always share it as I'm sure many others did too but it just never generated a lot and I think people were scared to touch it because of course it's the govt., it's the military. You'd see some comments of similar incidents but no one wanted to share names, etc., etc.

And THEY ignored the family or brushed them off. Yeah...

They did some things to change it all but like anything else, for instance DCF type cases, etc. they make some report, change some things to satisfy people (more like to shut them up) and I'm sure the culture remains underneath. Totally different thing but like in the Serenity Dennard case, the director was not even fired or forced to step down which he should have been. Things were largely blamed on shortage of staff and various little things.

I personally believe this man is dead for a reason and not the one claimed. And while she if involved deserves this sentence, Vanessa did not get justice here on earth as he is dead.

I felt for her family thoughout and in ways other than the obvious. They were bucking huge entrenched powers that be, I can only imagine they felt very unsafe themselves throughout. I think it is why many won't back, such, talk, offer their own stories unless there is a big enough movement and others saying the same thing happened to them. Even us if we want to support such, I think many worry if we criticize such institutions like the military or the govt. I think it's what made it so hard for them. When they finally got a politician on board is when it gained steam imo. The chances of that happening however were likely astronomical and I think will continue to be in the event of another case as well. Let's hope there are no further cases, however, I seriously doubt things have changed all that much. Maybe went a bit more underground... But probably not. And that's just one military base.
