Missing Cohasset woman Ana Walshe last seen on New Year's Day

Cohasset police are looking for Ana Walshe, a missing woman who was last seen early in the morning on New Year's Day.

Walshe lives in Cohasset with her family, but she spends the workweeks in Washington DC. Her husband was not able to speak with WBZ-TV as he cares for their three young children, but family and friends near and far are growing desperate for her safe return.

"We're doing anything and everything, turning the world over to find her," said Alissa Kirby, Ana's friend in Washington DC.

Concern is growing, from Cohasset to the nation's capital, over her whereabouts and well-being. She works as a commercial real estate executive in DC, but her greatest passion and priority - her young sons in Massachusetts.

Police say the 39-year-old was last seen at her home in Cohasset shortly after midnight Sunday. Happy New Year messages were never returned.

Interesting.

No GPS tracking on Brian Walshe’s location monitoring bracelet (Jan. 10)

As a result of Brian Walshe’s past legal troubles, he was ordered to be restricted to his residence except for activities already approved by authorities. In the days surrounding his wife’s disappearance, Walshe was indeed wearing a location monitoring device.

But a spokesperson from the U.S. Attorney’s Office told WBZ on Tuesday that Walshe’s bracelet did not have the GPS tracking features used in other devices. Instead, the device he is wearing uses radio waves that could have alerted authorities when he left his house, but could not relay his specific location.

Very few have GPS. Most have a radius detector and have to be within a certain distance like he had. The place that is in charge of the devices here doesn't even have that option and it's the only place here that serves our entire metro plus area. (4 counties if I remember right).

He was just stupid enough to take his phone with him though.

COHASSET − A vigil will be held Thursday for Cohasset mother of three Ana Walshe as investigators continue to search for her.

Walshe, who has not been seen since early New Year's Day, was reported missing on Jan. 4. by her employer in Washington, D.C., when she didn't report to work. Her husband, Brian Walshe, is charged with misleading the investigation into his wife's disappearance and is in state custody.

Religious leaders in the South Shore town have organized a vigil on the town common for 4:30 p.m. for the community to come together and pray as one.

Meanwhile, some of Ana Walshe's friends are working to get her children, ages 2, 4 and 6, out of the custody of the state Department of Children and Families.

"I am proposing to keep them together. In our community, we have quite a few families," said Natasha Sky, founder of the Sky International Center, a social-business network in Newton. "I'm offering my house for them to stay since I am a mother and I have a 9-year-old."

Friends of the Walshe family are raising money in an effort to ensure the boys stay together because they said it is unclear if the DCF will place them with family.

"Since Ana is Serbian and she doesn't have anybody here, we are — in a way — her bridge to help the kids," Sky said.

Missing mother Ana Walshe sold off her assets for cash days before her disappearance and left behind an eerie note for her conman husband, it has been revealed.

<snip>
Friends told NBC Washington that she had been rushing to get rid of assets including her apartment and car in late-December.

Ms Walshe also appears to have written an ominous message on the side of a champagne box to her husband on New Year’s Eve – just hours before she disappeared.

Mystery over missing mom Ana Walshe’s ‘big surprise’ for New Year

Three days before Ana Walshe was reported missing, she and her husband Brian told their longterm tenants they were abruptly selling their rental property.

Mike Silva told CBS Boston it felt like a personal betrayal as he had been led to believe the Walshes would eventually sell the apartment they had lived in for four years in Revere, Massachusetts, to he and his fiancée Mandi.

Ms Walshe, 39, was last seen in the early hours of 1 January at her home in Cohasset, Massachusetts.

Friends told NBC Washington that she had been rushing to get rid of assets including an apartment and her car in late-December and had promised “a big surprise” in the New Year.

On the side of a champagne box, the mother-of-three scrawled a message in red pen, showing her apparent optimism for the New Year, revealed the New York Post.
“Wow! 2022…What a year! And yet, we are still here and together! Let’s make 2023 the best one yet! We are the authors of our lives…courage, love, perseverance, compassion, and joy. Love, Ana,” reads the message.

The Lanson Noble Cuvee champagne box still sits in the couple’s home where she was last seen on New Year’s Day.

Investigators to take blood samples from Ana Walshe’s children to test recovered items for DNA

Investigators in the Ana Walshe missing person investigation want to obtain blood samples from her children to test against recovered items, law enforcement sources told CNN.

Thanks, Summer, good to "see" you! Does she not have any family we have heard from? a
She does. Her mother has given an interview. She has a sister also, Aleksandra. Mother is in Serbia. I believe sister is in Canada, but will have to verify.

EXCLUSIVE: BELGRADE, Serbia – The Massachusetts real estate executive missing since Jan. 1 pleaded with her mother to travel from her home country of Serbia to visit just one week before she vanished, leading the now-concerned woman to believe that there were "problems" at home before her daughter's disappearance, she told Fox News Digital.

"She just said, ‘Please, mama. Come tomorrow,’" said Milanka Ljubicic, the mother of missing 39-year-old Ana Walshe, in an interview conducted on Monday and later translated to English. "Which means, that clearly, there must have been some problems."

Ljubicic, 69, spoke to Fox News Digital outside her Belgrade, Serbia, apartment building, where she recalled how her daughter had sent her a text message on Dec. 25 and requested that Ljubicic travel to see her in Washington, D.C. the next day.

WASHINGTON — Missing Massachusetts mom Ana Walshe managed a luxury Washington, DC apartment building infiltrated by phony federal agents — and residents say she was hiding information about the bizarre episode.

Members of the tenant association in the Crossing building — which houses journalists and government workers in the upstart Navy Yard neighborhood near the Capitol — say they fear that Arian Taherzadeh and Haider Ali will avoid a full public airing of their actions and that Walshe’s employer, Tishman Speyer, is withholding scandalous details from them.

Walshe, 39, was described to The Post as “very forceful and shady” in her handling of the aftermath of the scandal — even claiming to tenants on one occasion that she wasn’t Ana Walshe in an apparent effort to duck their questions following the April 6 FBI raid that busted Ali and Taherzadeh.

COHASSET — Numerous search warrants related to the search for missing Massachusetts mother Ana Walshe were returned to Quincy District Court on Friday, where the documents were impounded, 5 Investigates has learned.

Between 10 and 20 of the documents were returned. While these files were not made public, they typically include affidavits from police officers describing why they think a crime occurred and why they should have permission to search private property in connection with that investigation.

Ana Walshe projected success and optimism. Behind the scenes, the missing 39-year-old had stress and uncertainty.

In the side of herself she shared with the world, Ana Walshe was a font of positivity and platitudes. Her social media accounts brimmed with uplifting quotes and aspirational slogans, leaving little doubt as to her ambitions. The Cohasset mother of three was driven and confident, a capable leader who once pledged to a friend: One day she would lead a Fortune 500 company.

So much of her life and career was about presentation: showing high-end real estate, working at luxury hotels, dressing in brand names and networking at black-tie events. And like so many her age, she chronicled life and career through a carefully curated series of online snapshots and affirmations, replete with hashtags: #smile, #luckymama, #grateful.

“Take the risk of optimism,” she shared in a social media post in the final days of 2022, a message typical of her buoyant persona.

Behind that public façade, however, her world was beset by stress and difficulty, the coming year poised to bring major change.
