Got my Masters degree from here. :(

Killer who stabbed 4 Idaho students to death still at large

The killer — or killers — who stabbed four University of Idaho students to death remained at large Tuesday, prompting many students to leave the campus in the idyllic small town despite police assurances that there was no imminent risk to the community.

So many students had left the scenic tree-lined campus in Moscow, Idaho, by Tuesday that university officials said a candlelight vigil scheduled for the next day would instead be held after the Thanksgiving break.

The students, all close friends, were found dead in an off-campus rental home around noon on Sunday, and officials said they likely were killed several hours earlier. Latah County Coroner Cathy Mabbutt told the Spokane, Washington-based television station KXLY that her preliminary investigation showed the students were stabbed to death. There is no indication that substance use was involved in the deaths, Mabbutt said.

The Frazee case was that way, Colorado. Kelsey Berreth was the victim.

Reporters had to leave the courtroom at breaks and cross the street if I recall right to tweet on lunch hour, etc. which is all most did as they couldn't get back in if I recall if they like left for five minutes and then wanted to go back in. It was a maddening decision. The Frazee case will never be seen because of it nor a witness heard, etc.

I can't recall with Lori Daybell's. Could they tweet while court was taking place? Or only on breaks? I worked through it all mostly but did listen to some of the audio that came later. There was audio I'm sure but Boyce wouldn't release it til like a day or two later to be sure it was safe or "clean" enough I guess to release...

Since and IF the decision continues to have a live court feed, the tweeting may not be that big of a deal IF podcasters and news are allowed to keep the court feed and replay it, back it up, etc. Are they?

Unless he finds it disruptive and how could he when reporters can be typing notes and more I imagine and what's the difference, I don't see the reason for this decision since there will be a live feed so what's the big deal? Seems to me this is his way of getting at reporters and podcasters and hoping they have no reason to attend maybe? I mean really, WHY? And everyone out in the rest of the world can be watching it live and tweeting it, so it seems a bit stupid.

Trials should be public. Whether that be by cameras in the courtroom, or whatever, I think it’s wrong to try to hide a trial.

Nate tweeted during Lori’s trial in Idaho. I followed his tweets daily as much as I was able.

I wholeheartedly agree. All trials should be public and transparent and all should be recorded not by court reporter but by video and audio so no one can ever question what went on or say something did or did not that did or did not.

The courtrooms are OURS. The officials are OURS. LE is OURS. I don't think a lot of these public servants seem to remember this or know it or believe they are accountable and we don't hold them to it enough either. It has gone all way too far.

But yes, they should be public and now that one can see it without having to go there, all of the public CAN watch and see them and SHOULD be able to. Just as anyone could walk into a coutroom and watch, ANYONE, now ANYONE should be able to tune in and watch. Not speak, but watch. The capability is there without driving to the trial and sitting in the courtroom and so it should be, just as anyone that traveled there could be, entirely OPEN.

Just as I believe LE should always have bod cam operating.

I see no excuse for anything other than doing things this way.

They make excuses but there are none imo. Not for 99 percent of cases.

Bryan Kohberger tries to get charges thrown out for second time

The suspect accused of killing four University of Idaho students in November 2022 is making a second attempt at getting the charges thrown out.

Bryan Kohberger, 29, is charged with four counts of murder and one count of burglary in connection with the stabbing deaths of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin.

Kohberger tried to get the charges thrown out before, and he’s asking again to have the indictment dismissed, claiming there was improper conduct during the grand jury proceedings.

There isn’t a lot of information on what the defense arguments will be since the judge has imposed a strict gag order on the trial. However, motions from Kohberger’s team have asked the judge to reconsider the previous motion to dismiss and filed a second motionasking for the filings to be made public.

The defense has said the grand jury did not have all the evidence in front of them and may have been biased when making their decisions.

There is also a scheduling contest planned for after the hearing, making it entirely possible that the judge will set a date for the actual trial.

On Friday, no pool camera will be allowed, and people will have to watch a livestream that comes directly from the judge’s YouTube channel.

This should be the last time they let him try and only if new information has become available

The new thing, the judge's YT channel. There's a another case, I forget which recently, that no pool camera or media but was to be on the judge's Instagram account. Uhm, not sure about this....? A court or county's site maybe but...?

Yeah it sounds like a repeat. Or asking for reconsideration of the same. Of course we cant know.

Prior in Daybell tried to get the trials severed like a zillion times to no avail. It finally worked. It ain't right.

Tell me do you think BK did these four murders himself in this amount of time?

Yes.

But Allen couldn't have done as he did in a longer period of time?

Kohberger went into a small house and shot four people and left. He did not corner them outside by holding a gun on them, lead them down a hill and across a creek. Have them strip and stab them to death, re-dress one of them and then leave.

I have no idea why you asked this question. You're comparing apples to something that is much farther off than an orange.

 Kohberger used a knife.

He did not shoot them as Kimster already advised you I see. He stabbed them. He is under arrest for one reason due to his DNA on the knife sheath. Where did you get mixed up on this one dodo?

He also was on at least two levels and maybe three and went into three or four different rooms (if he checked the dog's room first) and then back out and stabbed EACH of four people until dead. In a short period of time.

I have no doubt he did it.

Now do you now that you know it was a knife? And how do you think Allen had no time to do his crime but BK did?

No he didn't run in and just go bang, bang, bang, bang and run out. Not at all.

Live now. Defense trying to delay the summer trial already. She has TOO much to do. Like READ EVERY TIP.

Now trying to explain their lack of alibi to date.

I saw what I think was most of it. She even talked like summer in 2025 she may not be ready. And when asked if he sped up discovery and set dates and such if she could be ready before a YEAR PLUS. She didn't know. A lot of fluff and b.s. in some of her claims imo.

This is the SAME woman who wanted a speedy trial and felt she could be ready if she had all discovery. Hmmm. Funny that now even a year or more isn't enough even if she gets discovery.

They must forget the public saw that and her claims when they wanted speedy that of course they could be ready.
