A 22-year-old New York woman who documented her cross-country van road trip on social media was reported missing by her mother on Saturday after her fiancé returned to their home in Florida without her, reports said.

Gabby Petito and her fiancé, Brian Laundrie, embarked on their road trip on July 2 from Blue Point, New York, Newsday reported.
The two were living in a 2012 Ford Transit van and documenting their travels on Instagram and YouTube, often using the hashtag #vanlife.
Petito was last seen checking out of a hotel with Laundrie on August 24. She last spoke to her family on the phone the next day, telling them she had arrived at Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, her mother, Nicole Schmidt, said.

Her mother told reporters on Monday that she FaceTimed with Petito around August 23 or 24.
Petito's most recent Instagram post was shared on August 25.

Schmidt told Fox News on Sunday that she was unsure whether her daughter had left Grand Teton. She said she exchanged texts with Petito's number twice after August 25.
"I did receive a text from her on the 27th and the 30th, but I don't know if it was technically her or not, because it was just a text," Schmidt said. "I didn't verbally speak to her."
Laundrie eventually returned to the couple's home in North Port, Florida, without Petito, though it was not clear when he arrived, the Daily Mail reported.
The police in New York's Suffolk County said Schmidt filed a missing-person report on Saturday.

"Petito, 22, of Blue Point, is described as a white female, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and 110 pounds," the press release said. "She has blonde hair and blue eyes, and several tattoos, including one on her finger and one on her forearm that reads 'let it be.'"

The press release said authorities had recovered the couple's van during their investigation.
Petito and Laundrie had been living in North Port together for two years before they set out on their road trip, the Daily Mail said. Petito announced their engagement on Instagram in July 2020.

She could be anywhere as they were traveling cross-country. I put the location as the last place her family could verify that she was still in communication.

but KNOWING you are very likely being tailed with every step you make and all of your communications are most likely being monitored has to be so stressfull. I like it.
Oh, I agree. If someone was doing the right thing and someone was trying to stress them out or make their lives he77, I wouldn't agree, but I think these parents know where their son is and it's a wrong choice imo not to divulge that to LE. So yep, follow them to their heart's content, etc. No problem here.

6:45pm NPPD received a report of gunshots in the area of Brian Landries' home from unknown. No injuries are reported. Right now, no evidence any shots were actually fired in the area. No reports from the large contingency of media who were standing outside the home, either.

It seems that somebody in the media would have heard it if it actually happened. Most also have been recording mostly non stop. They would have the ability to go back and check from their recordings. I hope they catch whomever called that in.

This is pretty informative with some new things/observations. The Laundries lawyer did some texts to them, John Walsh is on with the tips received and what he thinks and more. I think they are wasting a whole lot of money searching that reserve...

Here comes a bounty!

The slaying of Gabby Petito and subsequent disppearance of Brian Laundrie, a person of interest in her case, prompted a prominent Florida attorney to put a $20,000 bounty on his whereabouts.

"I think a missing child is every parent's worst nightmare," the lawyer and mother of two, Tatiana Boohoff, told Fox News Friday. "Our hearts go out to her family and to the community, and we hope that together we can get some answers and get justice for Gabby."

Well at least we know he has recently remarried. That was news to me.
I watched him some like way, way, way back when he was in Hawaii and Colorado and his wife was still alive and at times some of his kids worked with him. I heard his wife died and thought he had remarried.

I wouldn't have posted it if I was not sure it was fact. I know he is a real bounty hunter but there is the "Hollywood" aspect.

The more searching for Brian the better I guess. I don't have anything really for or against him. This case is sure bringing in some known names though.

The more attention, the better, imo. Just find him!

I just saw John Walsh on FOX cable, the Jessie Watters show. He's hot! He's getting tips of Brian being in Mexico. Then there's this going around the internet which John Walsh mentioned. The one on the left is in Mexico and people think it's Brian Laundries. I think so too!!

Is Brian Laundrie in Mexico? Internet thinks it's him in viral pic at restaurant

Gabby Petito's body was found in Wyoming's Grand Teton National Park and her death has been ruled a homicide

Social media sleuths are sharing an image they claim shows Gabby Petito's ex-fiance Brian Laundrie at a restaurant in Mexico as authorities continue to hunt him.

Petito's body was found in Wyoming's Grand Teton National Park over the weekend, and her death has been ruled a homicide. Authorities have continued their search for Laundrie, who has been missing for more than a week. Petito, 22, and Laundrie, 23, had been traveling across America in a converted Ford Transit van for nearly two months. The fiance returned to his parents' Florida home by himself on September 1. Petito was reported missing on September 11, more than a fortnight after her mother last spoke to her on phone. Meanwhile, Laundrie refused to cooperate with detectives working the case and mysteriously disappeared on September 12. Laundrie was named a "person of interest" last Wednesday, September 15, and currently has a federal arrest warrant out against him.

Gabby Petito: Police not looking to get Brian Laundrie alive, says legal expert

Before going missing last week, Laundrie told his parents that he was going for a hike in a Florida nature reserve. Now, a picture making the rounds on social media appears to show a man sitting at a table at a restaurant in Mérida, Mexico, wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts. The screenshot was first shared by Lykke Borup, who is from Copenhagen but has been in Mexico recently, The Sun reported citing her Instagram account. It's unclear when the picture was taken.

Social media caught up to the image rather quickly, speculating that Laundrie could be in Mexico as he currently remains at large and his whereabouts remain unknown. He told his parents he would be hiking in the “swamp-infested” Carlton nature reserve in Sarasota. A search and rescue expert, however, has proposed that Laundrie may have lied to his parents about where he was going.

“There’s a chance Laundrie may have lied to his family about where he was going," Chris Boyer, the executive director of the National Association for Search and Rescue, told Insider. “People that are trying not to get caught for something sometimes use people, right? So he may have told his parents that's where he's going. They may be telling the authorities that in all honesty, but he lied to them."
