JOSHUA "JJ" VALLOW, TYLEE RYAN, TAMMY DAYBELL, & CHARLES VALLOW: State of Idaho/Arizona vs. Lori & Chad Daybell *GUILTY*

Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

Written timeline of events

This is a good taste of what trial will be like. I still go to the video on hearing the audio and want to see the person talking but I CAN'T. NO video.

So part of this is sequestration of witnesses and Rob Wood is saying who may be victims and witnesses are Kay Woodcock, Larry potentially, Colby Ryan (brother to kids son of Lori) and Summer Shiflet (Lori's sister). Wood said Annie Cushing was going to be a witness when it was death penalty but not now. (Why????)

Summer is interesting, for the prosecution, or is she being subpoenaed....

Defense is saying with no DP they don't now plan on calling many witnesses...

Hmmm. This is going to be interesting...

Defense is saying ONLY victim by ID law is Colby is only one who qualifies to be in courtroom as a victim. Kay, Larry and Summer do NOT if called, they need to not be in courtroom as other testimony given...

Defense says Chad's kids are victims again but don't think they plan to attend this trial. HOW are they victims of the death of Lori's kids by Lori (her trial)...

I'll actually give Wood some credit when Boyce wants to take this out until FRIDAY when Wood said the Woodcocks have expended great effort and resources to be here for the ENTIRE trial, etc. and he doesn't want them to be waiting and he says Kay IS JJ's grandma, etc.

This is SUCH BS.

And of course there's Boyce again wanting to take til FRIDAY or he even said not a big deal til evidence portion of trial starts but it DAMN well is to those wanting to know if they can be in the courtroom!!

Will the link open? It's definitely all 3.

Hold on. I'll get a different one.

Scroll down to Lori's case and click on 3/21/23 proposed jury instructions.

Okay that makes sense then because they were naming Chad's kids and Colby and Tammy's sibling and spouse as victims. I wondered why in this case as I was thinking it was just for JJ and Tylee.

I know the case well but one has to admit voluminous info through the years and players. I thought somehow Tammy's trial would come after but maybe that is Charles.

Could Chad be called as a witness in Lori's case and say HE is a victim? Of course, he can't sit in the audience because he's incarcerated. I really think being a victim is going to be his defense.
How is he a victim when he murdered Tammy and at the very least buried/burnt the kids in the knowledge that they had been murdered. Maybe he killed Tammy because she suspected what he had done (as well as the life insurance money he would get) and it would also make it easy to marry Lori just weeks later?

I followed this case in real time as they married, went to Hawaii, were extradited back to address the kids disappearance and the horrors of the discovery of the bodies buried in Chad's own garden, plus the prior "convenient" death of Alex. I often wonder if it was Covid he died of, as it was in the early days. I have not followed all the court business since then but as they hopefully are close to the actual trial now, I hope to catch up.

I will never believe Alex's death was from natural causes. Joe I am more unsure of but not Alex. They would need to prove it to me and they can't. I don't care what they have said. Jmo.

I'm sure Tammy was so they could marry and collect the money. She MAY have been catching on, not sure if we will ever know that. I mean she had an attempt on her life for one and Chad and Lori even walked the track at BYU kissing I believe, etc. and Tammy worked there if my recall is right. Don't get me wrong, she may not have seen them but boy it's hard to believe no one did, etc. However, wondering or having doubts about him doesn't equal that she knew for sure that he was cheating, behind an attempt on her life, etc.

He very well may play the victim as his defense in his own case but we all know better. I think I can speak for all or most of us when saying that anyhow...

Taking emotion out of it, this attorney in this one I am linking is likely right. It is more about that Kay and Larry are witnesses and they can't hear other witness testimony until they testify. NOW if Boyce was allowing cameras, at least they'd be able to go back and watch the entire trial at some point, but nope, only audio, they'll NEVER be able to see what they missed thanks to that ruling.

I do think the defense with Lori egging most likely every coldly made a hurtful over emphasized point of the Woodcocks not being legal grandparents. Prosecution could put them up first which would probably allow them then to stay in courtroom after (although I think that stops them from being able to call them again if necessary doesn't it?) OR prosecution could decide to just use Kay and not Larry, etc. as a witness and then Larry could be in there throughout and one of them would actually see all but then prosecution would have to drop a witness to do that but may decide one is not that necessary...

It is all true these kids may never have been found or Lori charged but for Kay and Larry trying to see JJ and calling for welfare checks, etc. but doesn't really play into the law I guess as to this decision.

Had Boyce allowed cameras, it wouldn't be the same as being there but at least they'd be able to look at it all after. I so DISAGREE with no cameras in cases., or at LEAST a recording camera, even if not live.

I was about to write half of what you just wrote. First of all, they were JJ’s number one advocates. Secondly, they deserve to be in there more than anyone. Even the press. I’m tired of victims continuing to be victimized by our justice system.
