JOSHUA "JJ" VALLOW, TYLEE RYAN, TAMMY DAYBELL, & CHARLES VALLOW: State of Idaho/Arizona vs. Lori & Chad Daybell *GUILTY*

1580704661510.png

Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

Written timeline of events
  • April 3, 2018 - Tylee Ryan's father, Joseph Ryan, dies. Death ruled heart attack.

  • September 23, 2019 - JJ last attended school

How often do defence not call any witnesses in a murder trial?
It isn't unheard of when defense has nothing and/or it is a largely circumstantial case and they are trying imo a tactic of trying to make the jury or one member think they are sooo confident they think it wasn't proven so maybe it wasn't....?

Letecia Stauch's defense recently did the same but they had the doctor, who helped nothing, who tried to help her win on an insanity defense.

These women HAVE no one behind them that could defend them as witnesses, I mean who? And the cases are solid. They did soooo much that can't be explained away.

I worry a bit more about this one because it IS putting together a lot of jigsaw pieces (but man there are a TON of them and every fact and witness solidifies some things over and over and wind back to others as well. Stauch I mean she had no prayer but insanity defense. They had her DEAD to rights with more solid stuff by far. Plus she opened her mouth with various stories repeatedly, Lori hasn't.

Half of this one though hasn't even been covered as even the people in court have trouble informing us of every fact every day and keeping up with being there and then reporting. Nate has done excellent but still they pick the points of the day and not ALL this stuff that just continues to add up above and beyond.

This is a very difficult case to follow, there is SO MUCH stuff that's fascinating. However, putting everything together as it happened, who was involved, who knew about things. It's a spider's web of connections.

I highly recommend all watching from about 7:30 in until about 11:15. This was probably shown back in the day but I forgot i think. I recall as we all do the parts about the kids but the questions about Tammy I didn't recall. The cash in the bag I knew of but dont know if I knew of nate asking or us hearing it, we probably didn't.

It is interesting though in cases and I don't always get the time, and Nate said similar, to go back in a case and watch what we know now to see how it strikes you..

Am checking things out re Zulema. This statement from her daughter came up. Melaniece was staying with Alex and Zulema. I had never heard that before. I also found that Zulema had immunity. (Whatever that meant.)

Maybe she married Alex so she could not be made to testify against him? Does that still count after a husband has died? This sort of explains why Alex took her name. Alex and Melaniece appear to have been in hiding. They all knew too much.

The verdict in a murder trial that has captured national attention in part for its fringe religious aspects will be livestreamed, the presiding judge ruled Tuesday. Closing arguments are set for Thursday.

And no attorney will give up those extra billable hours if the client wants to appeal.
Oh, I think a public defender might give up those hours as they aren't paid even close to what a private one is and they could be using that time for a private paying client and make much more.

And this actually brings an interesting question to mind.

Defendants if they can't afford one are given an attorney and all have a right to that IF they can't afford one BUT that's for the defense of a criminal charge, does that extend to appeals...? I'm not so sure it does...

They should livestream the closing arguments too IMO.

Is Lori's attorney a public defender?
