JOSHUA "JJ" VALLOW, TYLEE RYAN, TAMMY DAYBELL, & CHARLES VALLOW: State of Idaho/Arizona vs. Lori & Chad Daybell *GUILTY*

1580704661510.png

Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

Written timeline of events

Here is the video that has been referred to lately that Nate has kept until now.

When Lori is served papers while she and Chad without a care in the world are lounging poolside in Hawaii! Maddening. No concerns at all....

YVW

I am surprised that neither the defence or prosecution called Emma and Garth. To maybe testify about the supposed coughing fits and other 'ailments' Chad mentioned as well as the falling out of bed and lifting her back in etc.

I guess we can presume that was all BS as they did not testify.
I think the problem is in this case, certain witnesses may be more trouble for either side than help. Chad's children and Mel P for sure. Chad's children are likely not going to go against their dad but it would be so obvious if they tried to lie that we for sure would know it and I think at this point so would the jury and that wouldn't help him, it would damn him and Lori too for that matter. If they try to say she corrupted him, well there has been a TON of testimony that keeps coming back more on him. Mel P too for either side would be a toss up whether her testifying would be good or bad for them... And can't predict what any will say...

It IS telling though that defense doesn't have one clean, moral truth telling person that can come in and make a stand for Lori that would be worthwhile...

They should livestream the closing arguments too IMO.
Yep. I agree.

I get a rare day off today (just one with so much I can't ever get on top of with these hours it is ridiculous) and would like to watch or play some of these three trials while I do other things but nope. Stauch is over. West isn't televised and Boyce took another day off and couldn't watch it anyhow if he hadn't.

It's okay as I need to take care of other things anyhow but just saying he just puts all on pause acting as if it is for both sides, etc. but it is for him if you ask me. Why isn't Lori and the defense bitching about delay of "game" or trial and lack of speedy trial? I mean even during it, he stops it and delays...

Is Lori's attorney a public defender?
yeah, pretty sure that's the case if i recall. she has no money despite all her efforts to get some in her life.

but when it comes to murder and death certified cases they have to be better than the average public defender.

It isn't unheard of when defense has nothing and/or it is a largely circumstantial case and they are trying imo a tactic of trying to make the jury or one member think they are sooo confident they think it wasn't proven so maybe it wasn't....?

Letecia Stauch's defense recently did the same but they had the doctor, who helped nothing, who tried to help her win on an insanity defense.

These women HAVE no one behind them that could defend them as witnesses, I mean who? And the cases are solid. They did soooo much that can't be explained away.

I worry a bit more about this one because it IS putting together a lot of jigsaw pieces (but man there are a TON of them and every fact and witness solidifies some things over and over and wind back to others as well. Stauch I mean she had no prayer but insanity defense. They had her DEAD to rights with more solid stuff by far. Plus she opened her mouth with various stories repeatedly, Lori hasn't.

Half of this one though hasn't even been covered as even the people in court have trouble informing us of every fact every day and keeping up with being there and then reporting. Nate has done excellent but still they pick the points of the day and not ALL this stuff that just continues to add up above and beyond.
Nate said there was a prosecution side and a defense side in the court gallery. No one ever sat behind Lori, other than her attorneys’ families. No one.

Notoriety is also why some attorneys do a case pro Bono and go through with appeals
Yeah no doubt, we know that. Plus I think there are attys out there or organizations who try to help with appeals. Probably a waiting list or not a lot of them. But I'm saying does the State pay for one for an indigent defendant through the appeal process? I don't think so...?

i am really pi**ed that even when the paper servers left and said to Chad and Lori to have a nice day, neither Chad nor Lori had the politeness nor decency to say "yes, you too officer"... :D

I'm assuming it was officers, hard to say, may have been just process servers.

Cult of 1.

I'm just disappointed court is closed today.

Also, just a little point. The poolside video was released by Justin Lum, not Nate Eaton. I'm weirdly protective of them both. As of right now, Justin Lum does NOT have a courtroom seat for tomorrow and he's in Boise. The seat sign up filled almost instantly.

I’m sorry to hear that! I like Justin a lot, too. He and Nate are great journalists.

Yeah she has gone beyond the pale where no one will have the nerve to come in and sit behind her and defend her just by sitting there or even support her. Not her mother, not Mel P., etc. NONE are that brave even though I think those two likely do support her or at least feel for her but will they show it? Nope. They can't go that far or they are doomed too, especially Mel P. And Janice lied about JJ being alive.

Was it Justin? I'm pretty sure it was Nate that referred to it recently about possibly releasing it and he has largely been the only one I've watched nightly with his recap. So probably both had it and had held it?

You can be as protective of them as you'd like lol. They are both great. One of the best videos I ever watched in any case was when the four of them did a video on this case back when. Justin, Nate and was it the camera men of each? I can't quite recall but I think so. They get along imo and respect each other last I knew, and even worked together in that respect.

So was it an LE body cam? Or were both reporters or one allowed to go along, or just followed on their own and caught it...?

It was though definitely Nate that made the splash in Hawaii and went and found them, etc.

And I'll be oddly protective of Nate in this respect lol. :D

The little I've gotten to watch, just some every day people have gone this week hoping to see the ending parts, watch some and catch the verdict, etc. So yeah, fuller on the seats then it was throughout the long weeks of trial leading up to this time/ending part.

Again thank Judge Boyce imo.

They are awesome. But I do guess he should have been on this as to getting a seat because it is what the judge has made it. It isn't like they can televise anyhow, did he at least get into the overflow room and see it whereas we can't even do that of course.

Lol.

It was Justin.

The Kauai Police Department released the video Tuesday evening. Fox 10 Phoenix reporter Justin Lum was first to post it on his Twitter account.

So Kauai released it and he was first to post it. No argument there lol.

Nate referred to it beforehand though, they likely both did then know of its existence is what I mean. I heard it in one of his nightly recaps this week or last weekend. Maybe it came up in court, I forget. I may have it wrong that he had it or some such before that but I certainly heard him talk of it before anyone released it.

I also meant Nate and his tracking Lori and Chad down in Hawaii was definitely Nate. BIG time. I am surprised in a way he was never called as a witness but then maybe they don't need a reporter to verify their footage as it is national media footage.

Kudos to Justin to posting it first on its release. I have no problem with that. They are both AWESOME reporters.

Nate seems so nice that seeing him get into their faces and put those tough questions out to them and staying with them as well as the camera always kind of surprises me... :D

That was a classic.
