JOSHUA "JJ" VALLOW, TYLEE RYAN, TAMMY DAYBELL, & CHARLES VALLOW: State of Idaho/Arizona vs. Lori & Chad Daybell *GUILTY*

Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

Good point, why can't he sit over there. The public would all know the reason for it. Although I have to admit no one on her side I can see why all would want to show an empty seating area...

I wonder if that is filled now too though or will be. I know more folks are going now that it is near the ending...
I think her empty defense seating is for her family and friends that support her. Not the entire side of the courtroom.

Here's some interesting reading. Lori has her own page on the courthouse website.

Here is Nate testing equipment and updating on how things are to proceed now. Their sound isn't working until about 2 minutes 30 seconds in so you can forward to there. I sure hope they have it working right from the start on verdict day.

It was bad enough not hearing testimony in this case or seeing witnesses and I am glad the verdict will be on camera BUT the closing should be too tomorrow. You know darned well we are not going to hear it word for word in the recaps.

I think the whole thing should have been on live stream. They are basically serial killers. I was thinking today, why didn't the prosecution call Chad to testify? They could have questioned him about all those texts. Or maybe the rule regarding a spouse not having to testify was invoked by him in this instance?

Even though they got it I'm sure from all of us and others online and in the public, here is one where they address why weren't the Mels and Z charged. Some think Mel P had a deal and I've never been sure of that myself and neither are they. They think she is a wild card, well no sh*t, as to whether her testimony would help, hurt or what she'd say. Pretty much what we all thought, I know I did. If she did have a deal it should be reneged! Removed. Whatever.

This is interesting though as now it is put out there on TV rather than all of us and some YTers saying as much, etc.

People can sit where they like, not sure that I understand what you mean. I think Lori is so bad that no one wants to sit behind her, same with L Stauch in that case, or be taken as supporting her.

In our trial, it actually upset me at times that when some LE would come in to sit they would at times sit on the defendant's side of the courtroom but they were simply sitting where there was room or it was convenient to them. WE of course would never have sat on that side. Nor his family on "our" side.

Now I think with it near the end, and many wanting to attend AND hearing the verdict can be televised, streamed live, so many want in the courtroom that they don't care what side they sit on.

A bit O/T but I remember the first NFL game I ever went to and I naively thought our team's fans would be on one side of the stadium and the other team's fans on the other. OMG how naive I was. Been to many games after that and laugh at that thought now.

In high school it was that way at our football games... :D Not that we didn't go sit in the stands of the other side once or twice just to razz the heck out of the competition and irritate their fans...

Predictions on how long the jury will be out? We can update them after hearing about the closings which again we can't hear, thank you NOT Judge.

I think the evidence is plentiful and all here. I think consensus will be there and I would normally say it will happen by the end of this week, a verdict. BUT Boyce took a day off. AND there are a ton of charges to decide on in this case versus Stauch and that alone and the delay and how long closings take could take it into next week.

i think by end of day Friday is possible depending on when they get it but I think more likely Monday by end of day in this one. So far... I may change that thought based on timing of all tomorrow. TUESDAY though by end of day is my latest projection/estimate.

What do you all think?
I think they could decide quickly. Two children and a mother of 5 murdered. No other suspects possible and the evidence is very strong against them both, although only Lori is on trial at present.

They have no alibis for the murders and the phone records and physical evidence is overwhelming.

i do too. I do think we could see a verdict Friday IF closings go off with no issue tomorrow. That is what my normal prediction would be. Even tomorrow if they get it early enough but Friday more likely. HOWEVER there are a lot of different charges they have to decide on and fill out the forms on, etc. That alone could take it to Monday.

I may adjust my thought after seeing how tomorrow goes. if Boyce didn't have to put in days off in these TOO BUSY and overloaded courts, backing things up more, we'd have heard of them today and known how long they took, etc.

I think the prosecution did an outstanding job and just kept adding and layering and adding and layering and corroborating this and then that over and over with different witnesses, texts, evidence, etc.

If all are decent logical jurors which is USUALLY the case, Lori is going away.

What do you all think about the actual charges? I think they will find her guilty on conspiracy charges, but maybe not the actual murder charges. I can't remember all the charges.
I can see them doing that although I myself would find her guilty of the actual murder charges too. She doesn't have to have used her hands to do it to be guilty and if guilty of the conspiracy to me, she is guilty of those as well. But I can see where some would not feel that way BUT I think most juries get it right.

I can't recall all the others either, just know I heard today there are a lot. Some are of course like the theft/money thing etc. For that reason alone, the number of charges, I think the jury may take a bit longer than I'd normally predict but I wouldn't and I tend to think most are smart and see things for what they are as well and lean towards conviction on all...

Of course sitting here is different, through the years, where we have heard stuff inside and out on it and know a lot.

I can think of like my mom who would be a good juror as I told her of this case a year or so ago (and many cases I was following) but she would then see one rarely come onto her stuff or news she watches and she'd tell me about it but she has/had no clue as to all the facts and still doesn't. So I try to look at it that way and I still think (even without seeing or hearing all) there is ample evidence for someone like that to convict on most if not even all charges....

I think most of us like her and watch her and yet she isn't the most Johnny On the Spot Youtuber/reporter there is something about the way she dials in and connects dots that is amazing at times. I don't always agree or think she has it entirely right but much of it I often do.

Due I think to personal life she hasn't done a lot in the last many months but seems to be trying to get back on it.

I figured we all (even me) have read here or got at least the highlights and she is never first and I thought really what could she have to offer that is new and thought I'd just watch but really, what can she add...

And lo and behold, the FROZEN thing... BINGO.

It is a BOOM imo. I remember thinking way back when in this case that this group had a secret language, code, etc. I picked up on things or thought that with Mel G. I felt she was signaling Chad and Lori...

Very worth a watch and I had forgotten about something too she did back when of a video of a drug found in COLOMBIA that causes pink foam as both Alex and Tammy had/exhibited...

Her entire video here is worth a watch. She has a knack for piecing things together, finding patterns as she says.

Occasionally through the years I think at times she is reaching but more often feel she is dead ON.
