JOSHUA "JJ" VALLOW, TYLEE RYAN, TAMMY DAYBELL, & CHARLES VALLOW: State of Idaho/Arizona vs. Lori & Chad Daybell *GUILTY*

1580704661510.png

Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

Written timeline of events

Just reposting the link with the GJ indictment as a reminder. Nine counts to be considered according to this.

No access for me. Can everyone else see it ok?

Yeah. A bunch of rules and regulations re the trial, seating, etc. Just as I figured, attendees have to give name, email address and phone number and then when showing up have to provide a govt. issued ID. No transfers of seats can be made without full info on that person and a request to do so with ample time. And more. No access for anyone without ticket, etc. to fourth floor during this trial. $1 per hour for parking. Bunch of other stuff like live streaming the verdict, courtroom rules, media, etc. They expect to be at full capacity with closing arguments and verdict.

This is Nate's from last night. He goes through each count that has to be decided. Of interest also I felt was he had all sorts of people who had attended giving a clip of what they noticed in person at trial on the day they attended. This is a trial that if I had the type of life and could have afforded to attend one or more days, I would have attended BUT I think the taking of names and info, etc. and getting a ticket may have had me changing my mind as I think it is ********. Therefore, I'd have probably attended Stauch instead lol. Or maybe West, the very secret, quiet one except no, I have no intention of ever placing one foot in California. That's sad really. A few decades ago I felt the opposite and would have liked to see it. Felt that way about NYC a few decades back too but no longer. You'd have to drag me there kicking and screaming. NO WAY.

In fact the more I watch these things and some of the rules and things they do, the more I realize even though winter sucks, the part of the US I live in is far more relaxed and normal, not that all is perfect and not that it isn't also slowly changing but nothing like some areas and their nuttiness.

Nate did one taking out the people who attended court and putting them in one short video. A good watch. This will encourage about the verdict because they see the conspiracy, the calculation, etc. from testimony. The one lady though who talks of Lori's charisma (what???) makes one worry a bit...

The most interesting one was the last one who looked over at Lori and her expression said she was mad about Chad eating cookies in another woman's kitchen I think... Wow.

Even before closings, I am going to predict "guilty on all counts".

I think, even without seeing it all or even read it all, but have read PLENTY and seen plenty of recaps, they have proven it beyond adequately x 3 at minimum.

Predictions on how long the jury will be out? We can update them after hearing about the closings which again we can't hear, thank you NOT Judge.

I think the evidence is plentiful and all here. I think consensus will be there and I would normally say it will happen by the end of this week, a verdict. BUT Boyce took a day off. AND there are a ton of charges to decide on in this case versus Stauch and that alone and the delay and how long closings take could take it into next week.

i think by end of day Friday is possible depending on when they get it but I think more likely Monday by end of day in this one. So far... I may change that thought based on timing of all tomorrow. TUESDAY though by end of day is my latest projection/estimate.

What do you all think?
Monday at 2:45pm

I think the whole thing should have been on live stream. They are basically serial killers. I was thinking today, why didn't the prosecution call Chad to testify? They could have questioned him about all those texts. Or maybe the rule regarding a spouse not having to testify was invoked by him in this instance?
It could be that, but most likely it was because you are not required to testify if you’re being charged for a crime in that you testifying in another person’s trial could incriminate you.

People can sit where they like, not sure that I understand what you mean. I think Lori is so bad that no one wants to sit behind her, same with L Stauch in that case, or be taken as supporting her.

In our trial, it actually upset me at times that when some LE would come in to sit they would at times sit on the defendant's side of the courtroom but they were simply sitting where there was room or it was convenient to them. WE of course would never have sat on that side. Nor his family on "our" side.

Now I think with it near the end, and many wanting to attend AND hearing the verdict can be televised, streamed live, so many want in the courtroom that they don't care what side they sit on.

A bit O/T but I remember the first NFL game I ever went to and I naively thought our team's fans would be on one side of the stadium and the other team's fans on the other. OMG how naive I was. Been to many games after that and laugh at that thought now.

In high school it was that way at our football games... :D Not that we didn't go sit in the stands of the other side once or twice just to razz the heck out of the competition and irritate their fans...
Nate commented that there was a prosecution side and a defense side in the seating gallery. I don’t know if that’s an official deal going on or an unofficial deal going on. But he’s mentioned it a couple of times.

This is from Nate's Twitter feed yesterday. The court was discussing the indictment and whether the counts just relevant to Chad should be removed in case it confuses the jury. Some other nit picking stuff needed correcting too. I cannot believe they left all this stuff till the last frigging day.

Nb. Click on the replies and then wait a bit and the thread will unroll.

What do you all think about the actual charges? I think they will find her guilty on conspiracy charges, but maybe not the actual murder charges. I can't remember all the charges.
I can’t see how they can get around the murder of JJ. She was with him the last night he was ever seen, and just before there were pings of him being buried on Chad’s property. And her hair is on his tape.

Nate said something that I kind of disagreed with. Somebody asked him what would happen if she was acquitted on all charges and he said she would be set free. I don’t think so. I think Arizona is going to handcuff her immediately. She’ll be fighting extradition.

Condensing language on the 7 counts Lori is facing.

1. Murder conspiracy and grand theft - Tylee
2. Murder - Tylee
3. Murder conspiracy and grand theft - JJ
4. Murder - JJ
5. Murder conspiracy - Tammy
6. Grand theft - against Tylee and JJ SS funds

I've reviewed some things and I think they will probably deliver 7 guilty verdicts.

Thank you for the summary! I thought I heard that she wasn’t being charged for Tammy’s murder? I guess I got that wrong. I’m glad you corrected me.

Well done. I was going to have a go at that but it ran away from me. I agree she will be found guilty on all counts and I hope it wipes the smirk off her face. As a minimum she only needs to be found guilty of one of the murder charges to get life anyway.
