JOSHUA "JJ" VALLOW, TYLEE RYAN, TAMMY DAYBELL, & CHARLES VALLOW: State of Idaho/Arizona vs. Lori & Chad Daybell *GUILTY*

Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

And then here is one by PE. He said a bit the same as Scott, may have gotten some of it from there as his came out today. There is an interesting bit about Lori's sister and some mention of what the sister said about their own family's issues... This one is all Daybell case and just under 10 minutes.

speculation at best ... Stacey Cox's ex husband mentioned in court documents that she "admitted to him and others that her family was like a hornets nest and her dad was diagnosed with schizophrenia".

True but it does make me wonder when putting it with a few other things that many wonder about. Fact or provable? No. I agree. Her ex-husband would have a motive to diss the mother and her family without a doubt. But there are a few things out there re the family, again not likely provable but food for thought...

The thing it does though is make me wonder some other things as well. First, we have the information that Lori was a big influence on Melanie and I thought it was while growing up... And after her mom died. Now, dad was fighting for custody at some point of his 9 year old but at some point the sister died. Who had or won custody and what age was she? Maybe I know this and just cannot recall. Once the mother died, if Melanie was still a minor then dad would automatically get custody if he did not have it. So at what age did Melanie have Lori's influence? And why once the mother died? If so little was thought of by the sister's ex of the Cox family, one would not think the dad would want Melanie around Lori or any of them and he would have control. One last thing is if dad did win custody or receive it after the sister died, with his opinion of the Cox family, one would think he would have influenced his daughter negatively about the Coxes. ,,,Yet Melanie was cleary influenced by Lori and was Lori's sidekick...

So whether what he said was true or not, it for me it leads to multiple other thoughts and questions, many of which I just posed lol :)

Great response by Woods and I believe it is a correct one based on him and what other lawyers said about Means' requests.

I also like that he said a hearing should not be necessary on the matter. Enough time is tied up with these ridiculous filings imo.

Anyone starting to wonder about incompetent counsel on appeal? Will they let a lawyer stay on who seems not to know what he is doing so she can possibly claim that later? Not liking it if they can't take him off but she could claim it...

Do we know whether Melanie's father is still alive? ..... just asking. 😳😳

Yes, he is still alive. ;)

My own father is helping my ex-husband right now, and they’ve had my kids at their house and don’t tell me. I have bullying text messages from my dad, and that’s upsetting. I feel like you should love your kid no matter what. If all these false claims were true – if I was crazy or in a cult or done something horrible – shouldn’t they just reclaim me with kindness as their daughter and love me anyway?

Wow. Don't have time today to go into all the links but just the recap was something. Could you tell at all if Stacey died before the custody fight was concluded?

There is so much he said, she said in this case with all of these marriages, even with different females. Melanie with Brandon, Lori with each of her husbands, etc. Custody fights and so on.

Yet some of what he said seems believable just because for instance, Melanie not attending school would be documentable. Janice's obsession with looks well, I don't know about anyone else but every time I see her and Summer and for that matter Melanie and Lori it is something that goes through my mind...

The dad being schizophrenic he says was diagnosed. Again, that would probably be able to be confirmed or disputed so it is likely true.

Melanie worried about staying home to take care of her mother makes me wonder just where her family was then?

I have other thoughts but do not have the words and they are not fully formed yet. She sounds a bit obsessed, if true, on the food, germ, doctor, treatment type of things... Paranoid even. Then I think of Lori... Not sure yet where my thoughts are going with that.

The minor bit about her returning the food he provided seems odd to me. Not a big thing but how do you return food? And if he means she returned it to him, how did she do that even? Was she mobile and out and about, it sure leads one to think not. It's minor but strikes me as maybe false.

He would have a motive to lie in a custody fight so hard to say what is true in what he says and what is not and yet again, much could probably be verified by a GAL or court... The school district, etc.

We know of the women in this case but I have to say I don't go there much because many of them are victims but I really have to wonder about all the men in this case as well. The husbands, brothers, all of them. There just seems to be an overall similar theme to them all, and over many years as well. The wife is crazy, off her rocker, in a cult and the man is the victim. Custody fights. Yet they married and had children with the women. And I don't mean just Lori. Melanie and Brandon. Stacey here and Steve. Of course Lori and almost all of her hubs...

It's always all about the perps. The case becomes the perps. The cases are called of course by the perp's names. Families are told to not say much because of the investigation but it also keeps the silence of keeping the victim's name out there constantly, pics, etc. Some do it, I know we were advised to do otherwise. It is sickening. Watts. Do you automatically think Shanann or Chris? Everyone thinks Chris. Daybell, the same. I say Daybell instead of Vallow--Vallow makes one think of Lori, not Charles who is a victim. Nor the kids. Frazee case, most do not call it the Kelsey Berreth case.

I guess it is natural as they are charged and that is the case name in that respect. But yes, attention and RIGHTS and whining are all reserved for the perp. Same even in our not well known case. People can always come up with the one convicted even years later. One can't always think of the names of the victims or children, etc. It is disgusting. I couldn't tell you the names of Susan Smith's kids offhand for instance. But I know hers.

I guess though one minor good part of that is they carry a stigma forever. When our perp gets out on way too light of a sentence, all who knew will always know he was the one who killed a baby... Anytime anyone sees him, it shall cross their mind. That part is a good thing.

“The State is unaware of any legal, psychiatric or medical authority that would allow the Court, Defense Counsel or the Prosecutor, all of whom lack medical degrees, to interfere with the daily treatment of the Defendant or dictate how any such treatment should proceed,” Wood wrote.

With Means asking for private and confidential access to Daybell at any time while she is in IDHW care, Wood says the argument does not have legal merit.

“While an individual in a treatment facility … can often contact their attorney, Defense Counsel’s unrestricted request is not supported by law,” Wood wrote.

Means also asked Boyce to place a gag order on anyone caring for Daybell while she is in custody. Wood says all medical information is protected by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act so making such an order is not needed.

The defense attorney also requested that Daybell have no communication with anyone while in treatment without Means’ permission in order to prevent self-incrimination. Wood says this request is “absurd.”

in other words....her own lawyer doesn't trust her.
