Officials say 5-year-old Kamarie Holland was last seen in the area of Bowman Street on Monday morning.

Kamarie was last seen wearing a pink and white shirt and maroon pants with flowers and hearts on them.

Authorities in Georgia are asking for the public’s help in finding a child who disappeared Monday morning, according to Columbus police.

Kamarie Holland, 5, was last seen in the area of Bowman Street in Columbus on Dec. 13 and is described as “critically missing,” police said in a news release.

No further details have been released. McClatchy News reached out to the police department on Dec. 13 and is awaiting a response.

This is even less information than the missing ten year old child and both have been missing since this morning? Is critically missing a typical term? I'm not sure I've seen it before. I think all missing children are critically missing. It seems an odd choice of a word is all. Prayers she is found safe and the other girl who went missing in Texas is as well.

From what I can gather, this one disappeared last night around midnight.

Critically Missing is a pretty common term for "high risk". The exact definition and when an alert may be issued is determined by local or state guidelines.
NCMEC defines it as "an elevated risk of danger if not located as soon as possible due to the circumstances surrounding their disappearance".
 
Dam* it. Who is he to them I wonder? Or is he a stranger? I'm guessing not, or not entirely.

That's what I think too. They didn't say it but it sounds as if the mother may have had an idea of who would do such a thing and yes, they found him fast and went hard at finding her very fast too.

A missing 5-year-old girl out of Georgia has been found dead, according to the Russell County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities announced Tuesday that the girl was found dead in a vacant home in Phenix City, Alabama. They said it appears she had been strangled.

They said Jeremy Tremaine Williams has been charged with capital murder in the case.

Authorities said Williams previously lived in the home where the child's body was found. Williams was currently living in Columbus.

Authorities said Williams was found in a motel with his uncle after being suspected in the kidnapping of the girl.

According to officials, Williams had been charged in the past with abusing children.

Suspect charged with capital murder in death of missing Georgia 5-year-old​

A 5-year-old girl from west Georgia reported missing has been found dead in Alabama.

At a news conference Tuesday, investigators named Jeremy Williams as the suspect. He is charged with capital murder in Alabama, where the case will remain.

Columbus police received a call Monday morning from Holland’s mother after she discovered the 5-year-old was not inside their home when she woke up.

Columbus police identified Williams as a suspect in Holland’s kidnapping and reached out to Russell County Sheriff’s Office for assistance. Investigators tracked Williams down to the Bamboo Hotel in Phenix City where he was staying with his uncle. The hotel told police they had been there for 30 minutes before police arrived.

Agents went to a former address in Phenix City that belonged to Williams. That is where Holland’s body was found.

Sheriff Taylor said the cause of death appears at this time to be asphyxiation but investigators are waiting on autopsy results. Taylor said there also appeared to be some kind of sexual abuse but they are waiting for the autopsy to confirm.

Police said it appeared Holland’s mother and the suspect knew each other, but did not say how.

Williams had been arrested for sexual abuse in the past, including 2009. He was later acquitted by a jury in 2012.

In a tearful WTVM News Leader 9 exclusive interview, Kristy Hoskins - mother of slain 5-year-old Kamarie Holland - is speaking out for the first time since her little girl was found dead in an abandoned house in Phenix City on Monday night.

The mother of little Kamarie Holland stopped by News Leader 9 to donate toys to the WTVM Annual Toy Drive to talk about her princess and the unbelievable hurt and pain she’s having to endure as she tries to process what happened to her.

“I’m Kamarie Holland’s mommy and she wouldn’t want nothing in the world but to donate her toys to another little child that was in need because she was a very helping child,” said Kristy Hoskins.

Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor says Kamarie was kidnapped from her mother’s home in Columbus, and found in the suspects abandoned home on 15th Street in Phenix City.

“She was deceased and the manner of death at this time looks to be asphyxiation. It did appear from the scene that there was some sexual abuse,” explained Sheriff Taylor in a press conference.

Hoskins was in tears trying to come to grips with her daughter’s brutal death.

“I’m making it…I’m coping,” said Hoskins.

Hoskins says Kamarie’s father, Corey Holland, had custody of the child and they lived in Phenix City. Kamarie was at her mothers house when she went missing - something Hoskins says she had nothing to do with.

“I’m a mommy. I did not have nothing to do with this,” said Hoskins. “She was my life. I lived for her daily. She was my only girl. I have 3 boys and her.”

Hoskins says she hopes her daughter isn’t remembered by the way she died but by her sweet, giving spirit.

“We were at the gas station one time and we saw a family out there and one of the little girls didn’t have shoes on and she said ‘Mommy we can help them? Mommy because I have so many pairs of shoes at home’,” said Hoskins.

The suspect in the kidnapping and murder of 5-year-old Kamarie Holland, 37-year old Jeremy Williams, is charged with capital murder.

Watched the whole thing. Heartbreaking. I feel for her and one can see the ups and downs of an unimaginable situation and the changing feelings.

She has had a major loss and I don't have an opinion good or bad based on this, one way or the other. I haven't read anything elsewhere and no SM. I do wonder what happened though, how this happened and who this man was and we don't know those details that I can recall anyhow, other than that they did know each other or of each other I believe it said. He very well could have just been a creep that they noticed and knew of.

Such a beautiful child and from what her mother said, such a giving, loving little soul. May she RIP.

A week after he was arrested for the murder of 5-year-old Kamarie Holland, Jeremy Williams was back in a Russell County courtroom Monday afternoon.

The issue is a gag order that Circuit Court Judge David Johnson issued last week. It prevents anyone involved in the case—from law enforcement to potential witnesses—from commenting publicly on evidence in the case.

Johnson is trying to thread a needle between the public’s right to know and the defendant’s right to a fair trial.

Right now, Johnson is going to keep a lid on the evidence.

Jeremy Williams was brought into court Monday afternoon as his attorney and the District Attorney’s Office fought over a gag order Judge Johnson put in place.

Williams is facing the death penalty if convicted of Holland’s murder.
 
I don't think gag orders are meant to be used commonly as seems to be becoming more common were they? The article states the concern of false info being spread on social media platforms if there is no gag order; however, this doesn't make total sense, when things are not shared, I think more false info propagates quite often. Look what happened in Petito.

Yet I have feared and we are seeing it that the overboard b.s. that some of these cases have erupted in would cause more secrecy in our legal system and we seem to be seeing more of it. Discussion is one thing but some of the out there things that some have done was and is going to cause problems I figured.

I also don't know how you can put a gag order on witnesses when they may not even know who all witnesses are yet but that's another thought.

Also of note is the judge was careful to say he was not saying media could not report (paraphrasing). Have to be careful there I imagine with freedom of the press...

I don't know what the answer is but I don't think gag orders are the answer nor sealed documents; it breeds more speculation and falsehoods. Imo.

The mother of slain Georgia girl Kamarie Holland was charged this week with her daughter's killing, PEOPLE confirms.

Online jail intake records show Kristy Siple, 35, was arrested on Tuesday in Columbus, Ga., on a felony murder charge filed in Alabama.

Siple waived extradition to Alabama. She has yet to enter a plea to the charge against her.

Siple had reported Kamarie, 5, missing to Columbus police on the morning of Dec. 13 at about 6:15 a.m.

She allegedly told police she awoke to find the girl missing and the front door ajar.

The little girl's body was found later that same day inside a vacant home in Phenix City, Ala., according to county authorities.
 
Dam* it! So even though it just said they knew each other and was careful not to say they were bf and gf or how they knew each other, etc., she was part of it, or did it or had knowledge of it!!

So much for any benefit of the doubt she may have been given. Her own mother. Smh.
