EXCLUSIVE: Kamarie Holland’s father petitioning for ‘Kamarie’s Law’

We have new details on an effort to honor 5-year-old Kamarie Holland and also protect other children who are victims of violent crime.

Kamarie’s father, of course, still confused and heart broken over the way Kamarie died, but he said he is now ready to honor his daughter’s legacy in hopes of helping children and parents who find themselves in a similar situation.

“My daughter’s gone, but behind her name, which I am going to keep relevant, I’m going to fight for any other kid who is put in this predicament,” Holland told News Leader 9.

“Her mom stopped in, and I wasn’t about to answer the door,” Holland said. “Kamarie came into my room all excited, and anyhow, she ran in the room and hugged me as always and kissed me said ‘I love you daddy, I’ll see you in the morning.’ Those were the last words I heard from her.”

Now, Holland is petitioning for a new law, called Kamarie’s Law, sparked by a recent plea by Williams. Earlier this month, the suspect went before a Russell County judge to plea not guilty by mental disease or defect.

“I just don’t like the fact that anyone could lose their kid, and they could give the person who did an excuse as to why they did it,” Holland explained. “No one should have to go through extra pain knowing thinking they might get off easy after doing that to a kid.”

Already garnering nearly 1,0000 signatures in a matter of two days, Holland’s online petition states if passed, Kamarie’s Law would make it illegal in the State of Alabama for defendants to be able to claim ‘mental illness’ following heinous crimes against children.

We talked with Russell County District Attorney Ken Davis who said every defendant, no matter the crime, legally has the right for psychological evaluation if requested.

“I’m definitely not going to let up,” Holland told us. “I’m pretty sure I will do a little more brain storming, adding tweaks to it. It’s going to be a definite thing. I know he won’t get off. There’s only one thing I really want, but I’ll leave that alone.”

Kamarie’s father is also in the early stages of creating a non-profit in honor of his daughter’s initials: Kan All Men Accept Real-Love Instead Evil. He said would help three different organizations dealing with addiction, then also children.

I applaud his efforts although I don't think the petition will rule out "mental illness" for people who commit crimes against children. I do understand it and don't like its use in many situations either (Lori Vallow for instance) and I often think it is b.s. or they are faking but still I don't see them ruling out an eval for one type of criminal but not another. I do think though regardless it should be life in prison, etc. meaning if someone was mentally ill, then get them help and treatment maybe but the sentence is the same and transfer to the big house occurs when treated and the hospital stay is no cushier in any respect. Lock and key, cell, etc. I suppose people kill because they had a bad day or they caught their lover with another, etc., it doesn't excuse there is a dead victim. So when he says no one should "give the person who did an excuse as to why they did it" oh yeah, I agree, that's the part to go with imo. They get the same sentence, not an EXCUSE and they get treated. Period. And then serve out a life sentence and in the case of children maybe it should be double.

Russell County authorities make trip to Alaska in relation to Kamarie Holland murder case

Investigators and prosecutors from Russell County made a trip to North Pole, Alaska last month in connection with the capital murder investigation into Jeremy Williams.

Williams is accused of raping and murdering five-year-old Kamarie Holland in December 2021. Court records indicate that much of the alleged crime could be on video based on a production of child pornography charge Williams is facing.

Not long after Williams was arrested in Holland’s death, authorities in North Pole, more than 4,200 miles from Russell County, confirmed to WRBL they reopened the investigation into the 2005 death of Naudia Treniece Williams, Jeremy Williams’ then one-month-old daughter.

This week North Pole Police Chief Steve Dutra confirmed to WRBL that a contingent from Russell County that included Sheriff Heath Taylor, District Attorney Kenneth Davis, and Chief Assistant District Attorney Rick Chancey traveled to North Pole in early July.

Dutra said that the North Pole authorities received new evidence that was not available when Williams was initially a suspect in his daughter’s death.

Kamarie Holland’s accused killer charged with sexual assault in separate case

The man accused of sexually assaulting and killing 5-year-old Kamarie Holland last year is now facing new charges in a separate sexual assault case.

According to Russell County’s District Attorney Elect, Rick Chancey, Jeremy Williams has new charges that include rape, sodomy, and sexual abuse of a child. These charges are from a separate incident involving another child under the age of six.

An investigation reveals several incidents happened the summer before Williams allegedly murdered Holland. The relationship between Williams and the child are unclear right now.

“This child has disclosed certain things that occurred during the summer the year before Kamarie passed. There were multiple events that occurred, that’s why I can’t nail down a specific date yet,” said Chancey.

Chancey says they are not aware of any connection between Kamarie and the other child.

OMG how awful this case is and now another and he had a dead infant daughter too. Producing sex tapes of children. And that mother should be strung up!

He was making a child porno film and do we think it was for himself or the people out there that pay for these things. It makes me really think of what is the case in the Delphi murders. And how far do these rings and buyers of such go and how big is that ring?

The innocence of these small children in this one stolen. Murdered too. SMH. Disgusting individuals.

One year following disappearance, Kamarie Holland’s father works for change

Today marks one year since 5-year-old Kamarie Holland of Phenix City disappeared from her mother’s home in Columbus. She was found dead two days later in an abandoned home.

Kamarie’s father, Corey, continues to work hard to keep his daughter’s memory alive and also help others who are experiencing the same tragedy.

“She just right now would have been so excited for Christmas,” Holland said. “That’s what I woke up this morning thinking about. The last day she was with me, we were planning Christmas. She was already telling me the stuff she wanted and wanted to open up the presents she already got. She was just excited.”

Five year old Kamarie Holland: now a memory for father, Corey Holland.

Now, exactly one year later, Kamarie Holland’s spirit is being kept alive by her father.

“The foundation and Kamarie’s law is pretty much done,” Corey said. ”I’m just picking my board members and what not. It stands for ‘Kan All Men Accept Real Love Instead of Evil (K.A.M.A.R.I.E)’ Pretty much our message is to show love to the kids and giving them hope so that they can look out for their fellow peers.”

Jeremy Williams is pleading insanity on the charges against him. Kamarie’s Law would make it much harder for people who are charged with abuse of children to plead insanity.

Corey Holland said he doesn’t want other families to endure what he’s had to go through.

“I feel their pain, and I promise that I first hand I stand behind this foundation,” Holland said. “If they feel like nobody else is concerned or worried about them, I am.”

Judge denies defendant’s motion in Kamarie Holland murder case

Jeremy Williams, the suspect in the Kamarie Holland murder investigation, made an appearance in a Russell County courtroom Wednesday - his first since April to ask a judge to remove him from suicide watch.

Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor, along with Steve Johnson, the detention director at the Russell County Jail, testified during the motion Wednesday morning. They outlined suicidal behavior they believed warranted Williams to be placed on a modified suicide watch due to the longevity of the placement. Williams has been on the watch for 10 out of the last 12 months.

Sheriff Heath Taylor told the court that he had never seen someone who said they wanted to kill themselves as much as Williams has in the last year. The sheriff said Williams even admitted to trying to hang himself on April 7. The next day, he claims he had some sort of self realization and admitted to deputies in the jail he killed Kamarie and he couldn’t live with what he had done.

“There’s certainly a concern for his safety in general population. He would never be in general population whether he was in suicide watch or not because of that but certainly we don’t want him to harm himself either and that’s what today was about,” said Taylor. “The judge heard the facts in this motion and ruled on it.”

The judge denied the motion for Williams to be taken off suicide watch. His defense told the court Williams has not been willing to communicate with them or the jail as a form of protest to his placement on suicide watch. Williams, through his attorney, maintains that he is not suicidal.

Father of Kamarie Holland to host birthday party to keep her memory alive

The father of a slain 5-year-old is making sure her memory stays alive.

He is celebrating her life with a birthday party.

Little Kamarie would have been 7 years old this Thanksgiving. This year, her father is hosting her party this Saturday, November 25, to include several activities for kids to enjoy.

“I’m inviting anyone from Columbus and Phenix City, anywhere, to come help celebrate with us. I’m going to have bouncy houses for the kids,” said Corey. “I’m giving away shirts like this one to the little kids. I plan on it being real nice for the community.”

Capital murder trial for mother accused of killing 5-year-old daughter slated to begin in February

The trial of Kristy Siple, one of a pair accused of killing and sexually assaulting five-year-old Kamarie Holland in 2021, is scheduled to begin in February 2024, according to court documents.

Jeremy Tremaine Williams and Siple are currently in jail without bond, awaiting trial for the murder and post-death sexual assault of Holland. Williams' trial has not yet been scheduled.

Court documents show Circuit Judge David Johnson scheduled Siple's trial for Feb. 26, 2024, after he requested a continuance.

Siple faces four total charges in connection to Holland's death. Three of the charges relate to the murder of Holland, and the fourth is a charge for human trafficking. The three murder charges are for murder in the course of kidnapping, murder in the course of rape and murder in the course of sodomy. All of the murder charges allege that she acted in tandem with Williams in the crimes.

The fourth charge alleges that Siple accepted money from an undisclosed party desiring to engage in sex acts with Holland, presumably Williams.

I need a MADDER face emoji. Just the CHARGES in this are beyond what anyone wants to let sink in. BOTH SICK DISGUSTING botttom of the barrel evil vermin. She was a CHILD, not some sexual object for your SICK thoughts. That's enough.

This is the kind of case where sentencing should ALWAYS be permanent if LIFE etc. but even more so it is the kind of case where some DO NEED TO FRY and/or DIE themselves by the justice system.

Yes. Reading those charges is just absolutely horrific. Sickening. Literally. These 2 need to die for this!!!!
They absolutely freaking do need to. Let a bunch of the worst of the worst in prison have a free for all with them first and then fry them.

And don't anyone tell me about basic human or constitutional right in this one. They have to be human for them to apply and these two are anything BUT.

I do not have words bad enough. They are the scum of the earth and scum needs to be eradicated from this earth. I'd let a two headed monster live first. People like this do NOT need to walk amongst anyone, even other convicts. They belong in NO society near people of any kind.

PHENIX CITY, Ala. (WRBL) — The Russell County man facing the death penalty if convicted in the brutal rape and murder of a four-year-old Columbus girl is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday afternoon.

Jeremy Williams was charged in December 2021 with the murder and rape of Kamarie Holland.

Williams is facing four death penalty counts – involving rape, kidnapping, sodomy, and the murder of a child under 14-years-old.

Because of a gag order put in place by Circuit Court Judge David Johnson, prosecutors and law enforcement in Russell County can not comment on the case.

However, a filing by the judge a week ago, indicates that a hearing set for Wednesday afternoon is for a “guilty plea.”

Kamarie’s father Corey Holland, told WRBL on Tuesday it was his understanding that the hearing was for a plea.

“Justice will be him being convicted and punished for the crime that he did towards my baby,” Corey Holland said. “My baby suffered. So, I think he deserves somewhat suffering itself. I know he hurt me as well as my family. So, I believe that it’s only right that he do time. And also he won’t be out here harming all of the kids.”

The late 2021 crime rocked the community. It started as a missing child case in Columbus, but within 24 hours was a murder capital murder case in Russell County.

The indictment also charges Williams with the abuse of a corpse. In that count, it is alleged that Williams videotaped the sexual abuse of the little girl after he had strangled her to death.

As of now, no records in court files indicate that the state of Alabama has backed away from seeking the death penalty.

Kamarie’s mother, Kristy Siple, is also facing charges in connection to her daughter’s murder. Siple’s indictment alleges Siple sold her daughter to Williams for U.S. currency.

WRBL reached out to District Attorney Rick Chancey and Sheriff Heath Taylor – both declined to comment citing the gag order.

I have no problem with him pleading guilty because they have him dead to rights, but a plea deal?? It had better be simply taking death off the table and nothing more.

This was a 5 year old girl who was SOLD to him who he did unspeakable things to and murdered. He had US currency as stated he paid for her. Her MOTHER SOLD her child to a monster. There are NO KINDS OF DEALS OKAY in cases like this and even taking death off the table only in a deal is almost not okay as these monsters deserve to die because some official at some point in time will stupidly let out even a life convicted evil felon the way things go these days.

If it's anything less than that kind of deal, it is b.s. This is the kind of case you prosecute all the way through with NO OTHER KINDS OF DEALS but LWOP.

Two Years Later: Mother and murder suspect in Kamarie Holland case plead guilty to charges

The mother and the suspected killer of slain 5-year-old, Kamarie Holland, both pleaded guilty to charges. These plea deals come more than two years after the incident.

According to our crews in the courtroom on March 13, Kristy Siple, mother of Holland, entered a guilty plea to human sex trafficking - where she could face up to 20 years in prison. She must also register as a sex offender, pay up to $10,000 in fines, and testify against Williams. According to courtroom documents, in a separate case, she is facing chemical endangerment charges.

News Leader 9 learned in court, the amount of money Siple agreed to exchange for her daughter to perform oral sex on Williams was $2,500.

Following Kamarie’s mother was the suspected killer in the case, Jeremy Williams. Williams pleaded guilty to all four counts of capital murder - including the murder of a person less than 14 years old. He also pleaded guilty to obstruction of a corpse, knowingly recording the acts, rape, and sodomy.

Williams’ guilty plea is a a blind plea - meaning no plea deal was offered to the suspect. When asked why by the judge, Williams said ‘to expedite the process.’

Even though Williams pleaded guilty Wednesday, waiving all of his rights - the State of Alabama is still required to prove his guilt in front of a jury in order for the State to go forward with the death penalty.

His attorney saying that was William’s decision.

“It’s what he wanted you got to make sure, but you still have to make sure the person’s competent, you got to make sure they understand their process, and you got to make sure they understand the law, and what’s gotten them to this point. And that’s what’s taken so long,” said Chuck Ford, Williams’ Defense Attorney.

Williams confirms he was mentally competent when he committed the crimes on Holland.

Officials say there are no plans at this time to lift the gag order. The jury trial to determine if Williams will get the death penalty is set for April 8.

They are talking of a FIVE YEAR OLD, a BABY, whose mother was paid $2,500 to perform ORAL sex, pretty high price isn't it when they could get one on the street from an adult junkie for probably 50 bucks which tells one HOW sick that is and how they can't find such. And that's not even the worst of the acts. And then of course her MURDER.

What in the HE77 ARE THEY DOING giving a plea deal that could only net mom facing UP to 20 years in prison?!!

What is wrong with the people in charge in some places in this country!

And what the heck is a blind plea where AL is still required to PROVE his guilt in front of a jury? AT least there's a death penalty at the end of it and there should be for the LIKES of him.

There are things and depraved, inhuman and horrible acts, especially against children, that deserve no less.

This mother getting no more than 20 years and that is no MORE than is disgusting! Her daughter was not some way to make money and a receptacble for some SICK PERVERT.

You know what is even worse? The lack of outrage anyone shows. Ho hum, oh well. I don't know what's wrong with people.

I can only hope HER deal is to hang him and send him to death but SHE SOLD her daughter!

Prosecutors are seeking to bring additional evidence in the sentencing of Jeremy Tremaine Williams, the man who pleaded guilty to killing and posthumously sexually assaulting five-year-old Kamarie Holland.

Williams pleaded guilty on March 13, with his sentencing scheduled for April 8. Now, prosecutors are seeking to bring in evidence of additional sexual assault allegations against Williams “as evidence of intent, absence or mistake, motive, opportunity, plan, and/or knowledge.”

“The State has become aware that there are other individuals that have come forward regarding the Defendant’s sexual assault of them,” court filings say. “Since the Defendant was indicted in Russell County for the above styled charges, the Defendant has also been indicted in the Superior Court for the State of Alaska, Fourth Judicial District at Fairbanks for the murder in the second degree of N. W. the Defendant’s minor child, Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the 1st Degree x 2 and Sexual Assault in the 1st Degree x 2 in regards to the sexual assault of K.W. who was 5 years old at the time of the offenses.”

“These ‘bad acts’ involve the abuse either physical or sexual of children under the age of 12. The name of one of the children was used by the defendant in his acts against at least 2 other victims,” the filings conclude.

Williams’ attorney opposed the out-of-court testimony, saying, “[T]his evidence is irrelevant, is only being introduced to prejudice or inflame the Jury or the Judge, and has absolutely no probative value in this case.”

Williams was charged with capital murder in the course of a kidnapping, capital murder in the course of rape, capital murder in the course of sodomy, corpse abuse, human trafficking and producing child pornography.

Court documents claim Williams "recorded himself raping and sodomizing" Kamarie after her demise.

Williams has a history of child abuse accusations. In 2009, Williams was charged with burning a three-year-old child, of whom he was the guardian, with hot water so severely as to cause him serious injury. Williams was found not guilty of the charge. He was also a suspect in the death of a one-year-old in Alaska but was never charged.

Kristy Siple, Holland’s mother, also faces four total charges in connection to Holland's death.

Siple was scheduled to enter a guilty plea last month. However, Russell County District Attorney Richard Chancey said that never happened. Chancey was under a gag order not to address any further case details.

I can’t follow this case anymore. I just can’t. There’s no words to describe the evil involved.

It's disgusting, his acts there aren't any words for and I sure don't need to hear them NO ONE DOES BUT this evil can't be ignored. A HISTORY OF child abuse accusations and BURNING a 3 year old. Also a suspect in a death of a one year old! Since this case, other victims of his assaults have come FORWARD.

It is also the case where MOM GOT GIVEN A DEAL, a mother who SOLD HER CHILD to a devil for torturous acts and use. it's the last thing I needed to read before trying like heceke to get in to a light mode for one day of reprieve from a still tough life and have some fun hopefully.

I don't normally agree with infringement on such types of rights but mom needs her babymaking ability shut off. "Mom". This is a MOM? And HIM? OMG. Necrophilia with a baby and films it. Did I even just say that? Apparently there is a market of sickos for this sh*t.

I don't need any more of this and dont' want to follow ANY of it but it can't be ignored, it needs to be TAKEN CARE OF and harshly. If we all ignore it and don't yell, it only gets worse. There IS a reason for the DP. LOOK AT THIS ONE EVERYONE. Neither of these two should EVER walk this earth or breathe again or have a chance of release or even be amongst perps that didn't do this bad of acts.

I can't either. Do it any more.

I need to find something light to watch before I try to get ready for what I hope to be a light fun day tomorrow.

Heinous, I wish there were words adequate but there aren't in the English language for the perps in this one or many of them. Hennous isn't adequate. Nor is evil. Not even close to enough of a description.
