Kiely Rodni was last seen attending "a party of more than 100 juveniles and young adults" near the Prosser Family Campground in Truckee, California, at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, according to the Placer County Sheriff's Office. Also missing from the party was Rodni's car, a silver 2013 Honda CRV.

Her phone has been out of service since the party, authorities said. At a news conference Tuesday, Placer County Sheriff's Sgt. Scott Alford said her phone last sent data at 12:33 a.m. Saturday

He also claimed that after he told her about his day, she replied back. “Then at 10:30, she responded to what I was saying, and just said, ‘Oh, I’m sorry that you’re going through that. And that was the last time I heard from her,” he added. Rodni's friend, Kate Cuno, also spoke with Fox40 as she said, “The day of the party, I hung out with her. We made creme brulee. Everything was normal. I don’t think she ran away or anything.”

As per Cuno, she, Rodni and some more friends came to Reno on Thursday, August 4, for a good time together. Reno is also the place where Westfall used to come with her to have some alone time. Both Westfall and Cuno said that they think Rodni got herself involved with a wrong crowd the night she vanished but also insisted that she’s capable of getting herself away from any danger.

The missing girl's boyfriend said: “Her dad taught her a lot of stuff about, like self defense, things like that. I taught her how to get out of sticky situations and I know she is smart. She wouldn’t do something that’s gonna, like, definitely put her life in risk.”

He then added, “I definitely feel like that in this current situation that she’s safe. I don’t know where she is. We don’t have anything to go off of at this point. But, I fully believe that she’s alive and well. And I fully believe that the two of us, three of us or other people are gonna bring her home safe.” Cuno also stated, “Everything I know about Kiely is that she is just an amazing person. She is strong, she is not gonna do something that she knows is gonna put her in danger.”

As I understand the info, there was "no data" after 12:33am, which to me (and to the best of my knowledge) could simply mean that there was no activity until it finally did go dead.
I guess I'm not sure. I would have assumed no last pings, etc. is what I figured and/or activity.

I'm trying to figure out why they are going places like Tahoe and Reno. Well Reno was her boyfriend and hers spot I gather but even so she left a party and was heading home supposedly.

I just realized I was going to post a map and don't think I ever did.

I have a lot of family in the Reno area and have spent a lot of time there. People go back-and-forth from Lake Tahoe to Reno all the time. It’s not considered to be far away from each other in their world.
I see on the map it isn't far but to just get somewhere private with your boyfriend it isn't exactly sneaking down the block and as far as going there from the party, she was to be headed home so... I just wonder if something is leading to where they are searching, etc. or is known even.

So why wasn't the boyfriend with her at this party?
That's a good question and some say he was her ex but now we hear he is her bf, hard to know which is true. Maybe a recent breakup? She was going out without him because of that? He claimed if I recall correctly that he told her about his bad day that day, etc. Maybe he couldn't go otherwise for some reason...

It has been a week since Truckee teen Kiely Rodni went to a party at a campground just outside of Truckee, Calif., and disappeared hours later in the early morning of Aug. 6.

The search for the 16-year-old by multiple police agencies, including 50 FBI agents, has left law enforcement pleading for solid tips for what may have happened. They have asked teens and young people to share videos, photos and information from the party at Prosser Reservoir.

Law enforcement has received nearly 900 tips and leads but none has provided any help as to where Kiely may have gone at 12:30 a.m. Saturday when she was last seen at the campsite and her phone was still on.

The sheriff's office said false information being spread online is taking up valuable time meant to help find the missing girl.

"We want to warn everyone not to believe what you see on social media," Musallam said.

On Thursday night, reports on social media spread of a 911 scanner report. The fake recording said a girl was in a car matching the description of Kiely's at Arrowcreek, a gated housing development in South Reno.

"A 10 37 subject acting erratically possibly related to a missing subject out of Placer County,” the scanner report said.

Musallam said it took about 45 minutes for a person working on the case to track down the fake information as it started to spread.

Musallam said it is hard to deal with these kinds of pranks while emotions are high and investigators are working overtime to find Kiely.

On Thursday, the sheriff's office tweeted a photo of Rodni wearing necklaces that she could have had on when she disappeared.

On Wednesday, the sheriff's office released new images that detail a hoodie the 16-year-old was loaned the day before she went missing. However, investigators don't know if she was wearing it when she disappeared.

Sheriff’s office creates a website for people to submit photos and videos related to Kiley Rodni’s disappearance

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office has created a website where the community can share photos, videos, and other helpful tips for the Kiely Rodni investigation.

The website includes a section where people can anonymously upload photos or videos that may help with the investigation.

It also includes a link to an app called CalTopo where community volunteers can track the areas where they have conducted their own personal search and share that information with authorities.

Over several days, authorities have emphasized the need for people who may have been at a party where Rodni was to share their photos and videos of the event in the chance that those images may help in the case.

Her family also created a website, findkiely.com, dedicated to helping find the missing teen and sharing information about her disappearance.

Surveillance footage captures Kiely at a local business on Aug. 5 wearing a black bodysuit and Dickies pants roughly six hours before her disappearance.

Later that day, Kiely, an early high school graduate, attends an end-of-the-summer party with friends from high school near the Prosser Family Campground. Locals call the area "the campground."

The party escalates from a high-school event to a party of some 300 people ranging in age from teenagers to young adults and even some older adults, some of whom the teenage attendees were not familiar with. The party included drugs and alcohol, and officials are searching for video footage or photos of a possible fight that occurred that night.

Kiely's friend, Sami Smith, who was at the party with her, said that Kiely was planning to spend the night at the campground.

"I know that she wasn’t in the right mindset or state to drive. And if she were to have driven, she wouldn’t have made it far," Smith told a local news outlet.

Kiely texts her mother around 11:30 p.m. saying she is planning on leaving the campground around 12:15 a.m.

"I asked her to be safe," Kiely's mother, Lindsey Nieman-Rodni, told Fox News in an interview Friday, " … and that was the last time she texted me."

Aug. 6

Kiely speaks with friends and family shortly after midnight, according to authorities.

Her phone turns off around 12:33 a.m. that morning. It last pinged near the Prosser family Campground within Tahoe National Forest before it turns off, Placer County Officials said.

The 16-year-old's family lives about 10 miles away from the campground at a lodge south of town.

Kiely is reported missing, and the Placer County Sheriff's Office shares a notice regarding her disappearance later that day. The Sheriff's Office also reported that Kiely's vehicle, a 2013 silver Honda CRV with the with California license plate "8YUR127," is missing.

The Placer County Sheriff's Office establishes a tip line for information leading to Kiely's whereabouts.

Officials also begin a massive search for the missing 16-year-old near the Prosser Family Campground. The Placer County Sheriff’s Office says they are investigating a possible abduction because the girl’s SUV was also unaccounted for.

The sheriff's office did later clarify that they are investigating the teen's disappearance as a missing person case.

Police also said Friday that some parents may be telling their kids who attended the campground party on Aug. 6 not to speak with authorities but emphasized that the sole purpose of sharing information with investigators is to find Rodni rather than reprimand children for their activities on the night of the party.

I really find it disturbing that parents would be telling their kids not to speak with authorities. I mean if it was their son or daughter wouldn't they want everyone to speak up?

Key Points

  • Kiely Rodni’s mother reveals she almost didn’t go to camp party
  • Police release picture of Kiely’s jewelry
  • Partygoers urged to come forward with any information

Adults are discouraging teens from coming forward with information about the party, police say

22:26 , Andrea Blanco

During a press conference on Friday, The Placer County Sheriff’s Office said it had received reports of adults in the community deterring teenagers from coming forward.

Public information officer Angela Musallam said if those reports proved true, they were actively impeding the investigation.

“Our interest is not arresting, prosecuting, or holding any individuals accountable for any underage drinking or illegal drug that did occur at the Prosser Family Campground,” Ms Musullam said.

“Our sole purpose in this investigation and search is to bring Kiely home to her family.”

This says and I heard earlier again today that her phone was shut off.

That sweatshirt above about not wantinf to be forgotten and just wanting to disappear is downright strange in its timing and someone LOANED this to her??? That brings a couple of specific thoughts to mind...

Teenagers end up with each others clothes all the time. Particularly girls. They'll hang out at so-and-so's house, leave behind a sweatshirt or whatever else, and then the other kid will end up wearing it. Or maybe she was with some friends that were going to the party and mentioned that she didn't have a sweatshirt with her for this late-night / overnight event and someone "loaned" it to her so she wouldn't be cold.

If it really was "loaned" as in, "Hey this sweatshirt would look good on you, you should wear it this weekend"...that would be a bit odd. But I'm more inclined to believe it was one of the other options.

They are specifically interested in a fight that occurred?

Parents telling their kids that is disgusting parenting. The cops are flat out saying they are not going to make arrests for drugs and underage drinking so what is their reason?? Were their kids involved in something worse??

As far as I'm concerned, telling your kids that is as bad as the mother who washed her son's jeans/Fucci case. All it is doing is making all the kids look guilty and as if something more happened at this party than what is already known.

I don't find that odd at all, yes, they borrow or leave clothes in cars or at other's houses, etc., it is what it SAYS that is odd. Doesn't strike me as something a teenager would even gravitate towards. it sounds like someone thinking of "leaving" or "leaving for good". And the pansies on the back? That is soooo not teenaged girl to me.

But yes, on the other hand too, someone could have wanted to give her that message as well and now she has disappeared.

I wonder if the necklaces have any significance. I mean did the bf give them to her or parents, were they gifts?

I realize they may just be pointing out things that identify or that she may have been wearing but they didn't say with the jewelry if you see her, it was if you see the jewelry anywhere as if she might not be wearing it and just the jewelry might be found...

my kids would have definitely gravitated towards that shirt. What it says is edgy, it's black and it has a pretty design. I would be more surprised to find out they didn't have a copy of it.
