Detectives in Northern California have launched an abduction investigation after a 16-year-old girl vanished from a large party Saturday.

Kiely Rodni was last seen attending "a party of more than 100 juveniles and young adults" near the Prosser Family Campground in Truckee, California, at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, according to the Placer County Sheriff's Office. Also missing from the party was Rodni's car, a silver 2013 Honda CRV.

Her phone has been out of service since the party, authorities said. At a news conference Tuesday, Placer County Sheriff's Sgt. Scott Alford said her phone last sent data at 12:33 a.m. Saturday

This is a glimpse of Kiely that is both heartwarming and heartbreaking. The words to the song are just striking in the face of what has happened. I'm not saying it has meaning that way but it sure hits home. Her first music teacher said she took her on at two years old because of her interest and passion for it or talent (paraphrasing, I forget exact words). She was the youngest she ever took on and younger than she normally did. I gather she played several instruments and was very talented. I believe if I have it correct this is her grandpa playing along with her. There is at least one more out there if not two of her singing, etc. but I just came across this one and it is only two minutes.

Adventures With Purpose has committed to looking I gather when they wrap up some searches in the midwest shortly. Police Off the Cuff was pushing for Equusearch and saying they need to use sonar in her search. They mentioned they are volunteer and do it for the good and not the attention or money and I assume that was a bit of a dig at AWP, not sure, but it sounds like AWP already committed. They also pointed out LE needs to ask or allow Equusearch to search is how they do it and pushing for them to do so.

Seemed just a bit like a competition as to who goes in...

Both have found people but AWP did have some talk about not being entirely altruistic, etc... Some say they "hot dog" it, attention and $$.

I'd just like to see her found and the car too like we all would.

Adventures with a purpose were not around when I saw the deputy’s presentation. I really need to watch one of their videos. I keep meaning to do so and haven’t yet.

I liked the guy who was with him who left him and broke off because he didn't like some things that were going on. Personally I could sense the things long before he said that. $$$ related and not always with the best "bedside" manner with the victim's families, etc.. BUT they do find people and their cars. And put a lot of work in.

Search crews spent the weekend in the water at Prosser Lake looking for any possible signs of missing Truckee teen Kiely Rodni.

The search has now entered its second week. The 16-year-old was last seen leaving a party near the reservoir early in the morning on Aug. 6.

Search efforts were focused on the area around Prosser Lake over the weekend. Crews from the Washoe County Sheriff's dive team went out on the water.

Still, authorities say have not found any signs of either Rodni or her vehicle.

After 10 days of searching, authorities in California announced Monday they would “switch modes” to “a more limited” hunt for missing teenager Kiely Rodni.

At Monday’s news conference, Sheriff’s Capt. Sam Brown, who is heading up the search, praised the “incredible effort” of searchers, including members of Rodni’s family and the community, but said, “We are gonna have to switch modes and focus on the investigative side.”

“We are moving to a more limited but continuous search and rescue effort,” he said, noting that searchers had already spent more than 9,000 man hours trying to locate Rodni.

“We still need people to have their eyes and ears out there to support our goal, which has never changed from the beginning … to find Kiely Rodni,” he added.

Sheriff’s Lt. Josh Barnhart said his group was also “be modifying things to a task force style” involving multiple state and local agencies as well as the FBI.

“We’ve identified lead investigators from each agency … that means with these leads, we’ll be able to cycle people through rather than having a large group here,” he said.

Never heard it referred to as a "beach" party until now.

The sticker imo isn't going to make much difference unless she had an accident on land and even then they'd be able to identify it by its plate.e No one will see it in the water. And if she went missing on her own or someone took her or the vehicle, they will take the sticker off the minute they hear about it imo.

Even without plates, The vin #. They will search the water. Aerial searches can possibly spot a car. A Google maps found a car that a man went missing driving to a store and never came back in the 1970's.
 
Musical performer Ryan Upchurch has put up his Hellcat as part of the reward. Maybe THIS will tempt some "kids" who have information.

 
If you watch that, I gather a couple and their vehicle went missing the same weekend as Kiely from the SAME county. LE says it isn't related but still odd.
 
Just to put in a fact or two that I don't think is in here yet, Kiely did not go to school with these "friends". She went to a charter school and they went to a different one.
 
She has some really good points in here. I'm not sure of anything in this case other than the stories don't add up or at least have some real oddities and inconsistencies in them.

One key thing is that Sami says her ride was leaving and she wanted to stay later. As Annie points out to ask Kiely for a ride, Kiely had to have already called her mom asking to stay later because otherwise it wouldn't do Sami any good to ride with her as she couldn't stay any later either. So Annie assumes Kiely had gotten permission which is the only way it really makes sense and then Sami asked to ride with her so this would transpire after 11:30. But in the very next breath Sami said after asking Kiely in the car for a ride, they went back into the party and she went to find another ride?? So she tells Kiely she found another ride home after having just lined up a ride with Kiely. You can listen to Sami and this is what she says.

She gained no more time because Kiely was still at the party when she left apparently as Kiely calls her asking if she needs a ride when Sami is already allegedly with her ride on her way home. If Kiely was still there, that would have let Sami stay later than the ride she lined up...

This is but ONE thing of many.

 
I also watched part of another show where Ryan Upchurch called in. He seems convinced there was NO big party and in fact thinks it was just a small group and that the big party is fabricated. He isn't even convinced there was a party THERE on THAT night. I really don't know about this one but he does have some key reasons and states them and isn't shy about doing so. That was on a show by Aaron Mull., I'm not going to link it but it was on YT last night.
 
I don't know what happened but her having an accident of her own and on her own is the last thing I am thinking happened. I'm not saying it couldn't have happened but the entire last hour of this party is questionable. No ONE seems to place Kiely anywhere except Sami. She is the only one who seems to have seen her all night or was with her and yet she places friends in the car with them but never names them nor have any spoken out. That's not to say they may not have talked to the cops and we just don't know but we have NO ONE but Sami basically or the few hints of anyone else are nothing much and are the same friend group and there is NOTHING between her getting there around ten and her text to her mother at 11;30 when Sami talks of this last hour. Just Sami.

Nothing about any of this one is sitting right with me.

On another note, Adventures With Purpose are either there or on their way now people are saying.

Yeah, something is just off about her or at least what she has said is full of inconsistencies. It could be just guilt that she left her so she is covering for that or fear if drugs were present or something else went on. I tried to put it down to a foggy memory at first with maybe impairment from drinking, etc. but no, she comes out with things she says happened (so does have recall) but they just don't jive. She is the only person who has placed herself in there the last hour and says she was the last to see her, etc. and that too doesn't make sense as to how she could possibly know that. All sorts of inconsistencies.

I haven't heard them but I gather a number of Kiely's friends have said she wouldn't drink and drive and she just didn't do that. They say her relationship with her mom was so open she could have called if she needed to and wouldn't drive. And for me, I've heard nothing that has even convinced me Kiely was drinking at all. Maybe she was, but I've missed anyone else confirming the fact other than Sami. Another thing of note is that per Sami they have been to this party place many times, Kiely knew it and was familiar with the drive and it is also said that on he route home, even if taking a different route, the odds of her going in the water are slim as the chance of that isn't really there. I mean that doesn't mean she couldn't have near the party spot but again of her own accord/driving?

I'm not accusing anyone of anything but I'd say the same thing with an older adult or anyone if the things out of their mouths change or don't jive/add up.

I couldn't remember and I'm still not sure but that is who they were talking about. I did know they were from the western US but couldn't have recalled where. When they do the midwest and other places they are on a state to state lined up bunch of searches usually. I used to watch them some, I haven't in some time. Also when I first saw the guys I didn't recognize them, I was used to Jarred and the other guy who left who I should know the name of but drawing a blank right now. They split from each other. I want to say Sam or Dan but not sure... I could it if I googled.

I met a woman today that lived n Oregon for a bit. I said I knew someone who does and gave her your nearest bigger cities and she said oh yeah that's on the other side, it rains all of the time, etc. lol. She was near the Cascades I think she said and the mountains. Her good friend still lives there and she wants to move back there but her grown kids are here, etc. She was talking about 300+ days of great weather etc. :D
