LIBBY GERMAN & ABBY WILLIAMS: Indiana vs. Richard Allen for 2017 murder of two Delphi girls *TRIAL IN PROGRESS*

On February 14, 2017, the bodies of Abigail Williams and Liberty German were discovered near the Monon High Bridge Trail, which is part of the Delphi Historic Trails in Delphi, Indiana, United States, after the young girls had disappeared from the same trail the previous day. The murders have received significant media coverage because a photo and audio recording of an individual believed to be the girls' murderer was found on German's smartphone. Despite the audio and video recordings of the suspect that have been circulated and the more than 26,000 tips that police have received, no arrest in the case has been made.[1][2][3]

Police have not publicly stated nor released details of how the girls were murdered.[6] As early as February 15, 2017, Indiana State Police began circulating a still image of an individual reportedly seen on the Monon High Bridge Trail near where the two friends were slain; the grainy photograph appearing to capture a Caucasian male, with hands in pockets, walking on the rail bridge, head down, toward the girls.[4] A few days later, the person in the photograph was named the prime suspect in the double-homicide.[5]

On February 22, law enforcement released an audio recording where the voice of the assailant,[7] though in some degree muffled, is heard to say, "Down the hill." It was at this news conference that officials credited the source of the audio and imagery to German's smartphone, and, further, regarded her as a hero for having had the uncanny foresight and fortitude to record the exchange in secret. Police indicated that additional evidence from the phone had been secured, but that they did not release it so as not to "compromise any future trial." By this time, the reward offered in the case was set at $41,000.[5]

I'm not gonna get too excited about this yet. There have been so many let downs.

I think it does explain the change in composites though. The newer one was the guy being used for the facebook phishing page. The other is the actual guy, who looks like the guy they nabbed.

The eyes are much closer together than in the composite.
I thought the ear and eye shape is quite similar, the outside corner of the eyes turned down a bit, etc. I also find the general space from eyebrows to eyes pretty darned accurate. The bottom part of the face and nose as much but overall for someone trying to give a description maybe of someone they only glanced at I think it is pretty darned good if indeed this is the man.

I too am not going to get too excited and I was at first but who knows if this will pan out. It is the first though that LE really seems to have put anyone up there to consider even though they are confirming little about whether he is a suspect or not...

This is still strange. He looks like a cross between the two sketches.

And Linda's video even though short got me thinking, she packs a lot in.

This is all strange. They announce a fake profile and they want anyone who encountered it or him or interacted to let them know. Shortly thereafter we hear the man behind it is in jail, has been and his name.... It sounds as if he was known of years ago but not necessarily in relation to this case. And more. So what spurred all of this... I can't quite wrap my head around what is going on here... As Linda said, about five years is a long time to ask this now...

I do find it very interesting that they are putting this out there now, when he's apparently been in custody for some time.

Investigators would like any individual that communicated with, met, or attempted to meet the anthony_shots profile to contact law enforcement by utilizing the tip email/phone number: abbyandlibbytip@cacoshrf.com or 765-822-3535.

Sounds like they're looking for someone to be able to give them that one piece of info that can maybe officially rule him in or out in this case.

However, being that the creator of this profile has been in custody, and they haven't been able to say yes or no, makes me wonder if they really do have any DNA evidence or not.

I too wonder about the DNA. They have been, for lack of a better word, very cagey about whether they have DNA or what type. I get the impression whatever they do have is not perfect or conclusive or perhaps is "touch" DNA... Abby's mom made some remark that implied that last year I think... However, she did so without really quite saying so either... They have been asked I know about doing the genetic match thing and this brought it up if I recall... I think she was asked and LE was asked... The question of DNA, genetic matching, etc. was responded to but in a manner kind of skirting it some...

It does seem like they want someone to have seen him or seen his MO or something to add something to the case, as if they don't have "enough" evidence without one piece more... The case has seemed like that to me from the start almost... Why though they didn't make the decision to put this out there sooner than now may well be questioned if that is indeed what happened...

One last thought is they didn't want the perp or anyone knowing they don't have DNA... Because now I have to wonder if they do. DNA is generally the lynch pin of prosecutions/cases right? It's what jurors want. Well if this man has been in jail and they have DNA to exclude or include they would now by know wouldn't they...??

Interestingly, Indiana law did not allow for mandatory DNA taking for felonies until January of 2018...

This break in the case was plastered all over the Indiana news today. Perp in the jail has a minimum of 30 counts of child porn charges against him. One of the Indiana papers the southbendtribune, I think it was, printed his rap sheet that goes back years. Disgusting POS.
He stole a male model's photos/images and used them on HIS (perp) fake website that he built to lure girls and young women. The male model, who is an innocent victim and not involved in any way, bears a strong resemblance to sketch #2. Police have apparently identified the male model, whose pictures were used without the model's knowledge or permission.

The new law about collecting DNA was already pending in the Indiana House in 2017, but was going at an arthritic snail pace. They sped it through both houses and into law much quicker than usual because of Delphi.
Indiana IS a death penalty state , thank God.
