Madeline Soto missing: Florida mom begs for daughter's safe return home

A mother in Orange County is begging for help locating her missing daughter.

Madeline ‘Maddie’ Soto was last seen on Monday, one day after she and her family celebrated her 13th birthday. Maddie’s mother, Jenn Soto, said surveillance video shows Maddie hanging out in a church parking lot on February 26 after being dropped off for school, but she never made it inside.

"I’m trying to hope for the best, but I’m scared for her," said Jenn Soto. "I want her to be okay; I want her to be safe… I don’t want her to come back harmed. I just want her back – whatever that means, I just want her back."

Jenn Soto said sheriff’s deputies are using K9s and a piece of Maddie’s clothing to try to track her scent near Town Loop Boulevard.

According to Jenn Soto, Maddie had never run away before. She said the teen had forgotten her cell phone at home that morning, but that was normal.

As of Wednesday morning, a variety of search teams are out searching for Maddie.

For sure. And much doesn't here. I can't then though assume anything with a strong certainty. I can with him of course with far more certainty for obvious reasons. Charged with tons of offenses, basic instincts about him from start and his interview, etc.
Honestly, a few times I am not following his thoughts but interesting to go back to your post here I am responding to, it is when things don't correlate we question. That's for damned sure.
And that's what I'm doing with the observed-her-at-8 info, that is, yes, that's what's in the Incident Report but it isn't what the mother said in her interviews.
Granted, she didn't directly say that she didn't see Madeline that morn but the impression I got was that the last time they spoke was also the last time she saw her.

Here's another I found this afternoon when I've finally had a few moments of Gray and not long where he says the time would have been like 11:49 the birthday party night he was on the site... Now as he said in his first one this is an app a lot use and it is not all for predators, BUT considering what we know of Stephan it is probably the reason he was on it...

BUT he was on Telegram at 11:49 birthday party night...
Yes, and while Gray's still trying to confirm the actual time Sterns was on that site- whether it was just before midnight or just before 5am- just the fact that he was on that site during the timeframe of Madeline's death is certainly highly significant!

AFter that he goes into the things we all have and do, the questions of when did he kill her, was she seated in the car that the camera could show them she was likely dead and so on, why did he do it, was there a real flat tire and so on and so on. Honestly, a few times I am not following his thoughts but interesting to go back to your post here I am responding to, it is when things don't correlate we question. That's for damned sure.

I don't as I said follow his thinking with all but it reminded me he did get caught by a license plate reader near the school, I was thinking he never went near the school and had forgotten that. And that's got it's own time, 8:09 or something I think...
Yes, per the arrest affidavit, his vehicle was seen "driving away from the school", which to me, just means that he was in that vicinity at 8:10.
I suppose he may have actually wanted to be seen near the school, heck if I know. I know he tried to keep up appearances...
As for a having flat, now that I've thought about it longer, I think he really did. I think he drove off-road to where he dumped her body and that's how/why it happened.

Gray can't figure why he returned to the complex but I think it was to keep up the appearances (to the mother that morn and later to police) that he was back after having taken Madeline to school.
His point about why return with the body intentionally visible makes sense and so I don't think it would have been intentional.
Gray can't decide whether Sterns left the apt complex at 7:35. Well, I think he ditched Madeline's belongings on his way out of the complex.
Gray asks where the body was from 8:19 until that afternoon. Well, he appears to have forgot that the Incident Report says that Sterns said he returned to the apartment for about an hour and then left to" run errands".

I want to add that obviously, Gray Hughes is right that many questions will be answered once Sterns is charged with the death and the affidavit is made public but you know, that could be a reason- or another reason- he isn't charged yet, that is, that the info would then be available to the public.

I agree with a lot here. Or at least question the same. Gray was not on some things for sure and I didn't follow his train of thinking on some of it but I guess it is caused by these ame questions we all have.

I know you think the mom didn't say she saw her getting dressed at 8 but I tend to believe that. I'm not sold but I think you know we disagree on the leaning on that one. I do tend o agree with Gray on that one. Stephan to mom is like what do you mean she didn't get to school and is missing?? You know I didn't do anything, I love you and her but they are going to look at me because I'm a bf, stepfather. You know I didn't do anything and you were passed out sleeping, can you just say you saw her in the morning so they can look for the real perp or whatever or if she ran off and so forth? You know where I dropped her and that I took her to school. Can you just say you saw her so they don't go down that road wrongly. I think mom most DEFINITELY likely lied for him to her detriment. Maybe believing of course it wasn't him but still did so. Alternatives are what you believe that she never said an;y such thing or that she really DID see her getting dressed and he accomplished this and killed her within minutes and less than half an hour after.

So mom sees her at 8, allegedly, he is seen near school I think at 8:09 by plate reader, and back at was it 8:19 with her somehow seen dead in car? This man is an idiot or on something though. It does seem he was trying to show he went to school and came back but then you have her in the car when you come back! I can only guess he thought cams etc. would establish him going and returning in reasonable time but not that they would catch her in the car? It is the same thing that confounds all of us I think.

I tend to think too he really did have a flat tire. I have thought that from the start even before watching this. It would be sheer timing and coincidence which I don't tend to usually believe in but generally but I this case I think it entirely possible. I guess whether he did or not really isn't huge but he did have another tire on the car and completed it would seem a tire change.

Gray was going into thoughts like he'd left her somewhere and had to then go back and retrieve her and I could not follow that line of thinking AT ALL. I even backed it up and listened again and still coudln't. I'd had a long day but that is so far fetched and nothing I ever thought of or anyone had as far as i've seen that I don't know where he was coming from with that.

Stephan being on that site I do think significant. Again it is also a site for "normal" users but also known for this stuff and we know what he is. An evil pedo. And this is the night she was killed or the night before she was and when he drove around with her dead body and so on.

Did he get ramped up going on here or was it after?

I know we don't agree but respectfully, mom is not clear with me whatsoever.

I still can believe POSSIBLY she was head in the sand intentional denial but she at least I think lied for him where deep down she knew. Imo if that is the case, you come clean now and say so even if it is through your lawyer if you have one and you do all you can to help prosecute this creep.

And unfortunately there is also nothing showing me she didn't know more or have a part or even that she coudln't have done it which I feel unlikely BUT based on things as they stand, she was home with her and he "picked" her up. I know again that si debated but things are clear as mud and is why we all have the same questions but feel differently.

I am not a Gray fan. ANd then he espouses JT and Trisha last night too and Vinnie all of a sudden has him as a guest more than once. That's another kettle of fish for another day.

And another subject.

I absolutely could not follow his thoughts of wasn't it that he left her somewhere and went back and got her? Never has anything like that crossed my mind.

I will say though that the Telegram thing is worth hearing and he did have a ton of his friends on that contacted him. He is doing some shorts maybe trying to stay relevantor get people to watch who can't take his hours of fund raising and b.s.

Normally his shows are 3+ hours long and I can't take them and the noise and the first hour is all fund raising and never case info and so on. I will say thought hsi mapping and some things he is worth listening to if one can find it in the hours long money making pounding and going on about nothing he does around real info. Jmo. I will listen to someone like Tom in Delphi for three hours I don't have to spare because every bit of it is talk of the case. Gray not so much. I have a headache before I am through 1/2 hour of a long one.

@Mel70 did you know this?? I didn't!
But yet in Florida, This is awful, Necrophilia is no longer a crime. I'm serious. But, I don't know if they can charge it if it's part of a murder. WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT?!!!! I think of the families. Your deceased family member is assaulted at a funeral home. No charges. O.K. I'll take care of it!!!!

I'm going with stupid. Look at that shirt in the video. He looks like a little weasel. And I like weasels. They're funny. Not this one. Lies, Lies, Lies. IMO, Not just him.

I've had a headache for 3 days, Migraine. That WILL NOT GO AWAY!! I agree. I want to get to the facts, Skip the B.S. I don't have the patience, Eyesight, Or neck for it. It makes it worse. I cannot make it through a podcast for nearly that long.

Well I've seen probably only about a handful of episodes of Dr. G- I'm not usually interested in body language analysis- and I've just seen these two you posted just this morning.
Anyway, there's a lot I want to comment about but I'll have to do that later.
Thanks for posting those videos and have a nice day!
She's very good.

I think I'm reading backwards. I probably came in on the last post and thought I was caught up and then realized there were ones above as I was about to leave. So my responses are in reverse as to seeing what is said, sorry.

Jenn Soto made a point of telling she forgot her phone and saying how common it was and then mentioning ADD. I guess Stephan could have imprinted his story on her and the need and that he was innocent but wouldn't look like it, etc. She brought up that phone and a fair amount of explanation unwarranted really imo.

I'm not sure what you mean by her saying there daughter was happy, that she just wouldn't leave and so on as he said the very same things.

I'm with you on there is no evidence for US anyhow at this time proving the mom knew anything but I'm getting a bit beyond on that she could have been so clueless and I am certainly getting to where she definitely was giving his story which at first would be understandable to a point because she didn't know, she didn't take her to school and it came from him, him to her, him to the cops, etc. In the early flush of things, I can see that. Her pointing out the phone though and saying a bit more about it and her forgetfulness and how common PLUS she added the cops had it, etc. they gave it to them or she did and so on... Was odd.

Every behavior Analyst I watched which we talked of above, gave opinions BEFORE these 60 additional charges AND before some further detail in the new charging documents. Not a one either do I think nor did any show play or maybe even have or know of these interviews with Telemundo where Jen is outside and grandma has one.

It's all changed my views a bit and I am not okay with mom. In fact I sounds like SHE was at home with Maddie and not him the night before and overnight. In the last week I've seen people thinking she killed her and I thought they were ridiculous but if they knew these interviews I can see why... They were broken up, he didn't live there, grandma has no idea why he was brought that morning, called or whatever or showed up to take her to school. Of course, grandma could only be told what she was told too but did she live there, is this her place...? That's a big question out there... So she'd know he wasn't there and then was...

That makes a lot of difference. Was it only Jen and Maddie in this four bedroom condo?
ADD. Psh. ME TOO. ADD/ADHD. Forgetting things, Misplacing things is true. But, This time was awfully convenient. I double check everything. Come on. DUH.

The mother said Madeline had been diagnosed with ADHD and she went on to say that it was only months prior that she was re-evaluated for autism (that one doctor said she was autistic and one said she wasn't) but now we're all aware of what doctors weren't- a history of sexual abuse that was still occurring.
From what I understand, the effects of abuse can be misinterpreted as ADHD...
Regardless- and it's so very sad but it appears that either is possible: the abuse caused ADHD or she didn't actually have ADHD to begin with.

Thank you for the information. I was referring to the mother's claim of her own. That is extremely sad. Whatever the diagnosis. ADD/ADHD, You are born with it. It may not manifest until later. My ADD did in childhood, But ADHD in adulthood. They need to make sure of these diagnoses. It seems ridiculous to state two completely different things.

I want to add that obviously, Gray Hughes is right that many questions will be answered once Sterns is charged with the death and the affidavit is made public but you know, that could be a reason- or another reason- he isn't charged yet, that is, that the info would then be available to the public.
Maybe but I think it more likely they just have no need to rush and there's a lot of info in this case. They also need to make SURE he can't turn it and say it was mom. Even IF she is innocent, tthey have to close that door which might not be easy if only the two of them were home when she was murdered IF she was murdered there. They probably don't want the public knowing or it available as you say though UNTIL they have it solid I imagine and wouldn't want that. We are looking hard now at every single thing that doesn't make sense or isn\t adequately and so I'm sure they know it will be done with that as well.

I want charges right away and want more info of course but there's absolutely no reason they need not rush them, he's not going anywhere. Of course they wouldn't want to wait years when info and witnesses can disappear, memory fade and so on, they'd want to be ON it NOW to get to the place of charging. Her autopsy results are a big one too and she claimed they were still waiting on the report.

Maybe a combo of all those reasons...

I really like Gray Hughes-he's one of the only ones I'll watch because I know he relies on credible sources. I'm almost always onboard with his way of thinking but there are occasions where he'll speculate in a way I don't.
I appreciate his effort and ability to find locations and I really like his sense of humor!
Re the money his channel makes, he's transparent as to how much he makes and how much he donates, which most aren't and don't.

I used to like Vinnie Politan- we often saw eye-to-eye- but something's changed about him that I don't like, and btw, same with Ashley Banfield. I was familiar with her early in her career because she was an anchor in the area where I still live. I liked her a lot and wasn't surprised to see her career take off but somewhere along the way, her approach to info changed in a way that I don't respect.
"Tom", I've never watched and don't have time to even if I thought there was a reason, lol!

Yeah, at this point, I just think of it as incidental as to what can happen when going off-road with unsuitable tires. (Lol, at the thought of the circumstance from his perspective!)

I think the fact that he left early shows that the mother was unaware, that he left early because that's when he had to, that is, while the mother was unaware.
I don't like nor hate him. And he can make as much $$ as he wants and run his show as he likes, I just don't have time for all the lead in and that part in every single show and I think he loses a lot of viewers for that and a few other reasons. He is doing a lot more shorts lately and those as you know I watch. I know he says how much and where the money goes, I've heard it a number of times lol and I've given up watching shows when an hour or more in he hasn't even hit the case he put up to be talked of.

I'm just not a huge fan but I have said his mapping and a lot of things I do give him credit for. Honestly I just don't like all the noise either of that part of it all. The last thing I want to watch is something with all the sounds he plays and bells or whatever constantly after working all day. I just want to catch up on a case/s. Again he can do as he likes, but I head elsewhere for some of those reasons and others. I've spent too much time in the past listening to him so that I can hear the news on a case only to have it never get there.

His sense of humor? Lol, I guess we differ there then too but that's okay.

I go back and forth on people to and sometimes I never go back or give another chance, just depends. I'm not found of Vinnie lately. Not sure what's going on with him but he IS different. Banfield, not a fan these days. Angenette Leavy is another at times and some of those they are with as well. They're sensationalistic for one thing and get a fair amount of things wrong and have in cases and been quite irresponsible as well at times.

Tom is ONLY Delphi and imo he is the sanest voice on it. His shows aren't all that long if you quit when he gets to the question and answer time and he never does that until he's done about the case. Questions are often worth it though for the case discussion and info. He reads ALL the filings and docs and them makes his own very organized pages and such to go over it all and it's great for me to get updated when no way to read all.

Yeah, the flat could be real or not. And easily believable. He DOES have a donut/spare on and Gray did make the point of would you carry a ruse that far to actually change the tire?

With the leaving early, could be but no way to know that of course. And until more is clear on the 8 a.m. remark and some other things, the jury on that is still out for me. Of course, again, we don't have to agree. I'm fairly open as to what we will find out in time and what the truth is, with him not so much, I've prettty much judged him and not much will change that.

=Castration.
You'll get no argument from me with types like him.

Kind of ironic that one way it is known to be him in the videos/photos is his "unit' must be somewhat unique, sounds like they could match his "unit' to the pictures...

And per a friend I guess he used to collect and keep his sement and if I recall something about believing you could use old semen to get a girl pregnant. FIrst why would he want to? is he one of those freaks that think he's the perfect person who should make as many mini hims as he can...? Can't recall but think he may have been a teen but again what kind of teen WANTS to get a girl or many pregnant?

The mother said Madeline had been diagnosed with ADHD and she went on to say that it was only months prior that she was re-evaluated for autism (that one doctor said she was autistic and one said she wasn't) but now we're all aware of what doctors weren't- a history of sexual abuse that was still occurring.
From what I understand, the effects of abuse can be misinterpreted as ADHD...
Regardless- and it's so very sad but it appears that either is possible: the abuse caused ADHD or she didn't actually have ADHD to begin with.
On this one I've had the same thoughts as you. Something seems wrong with your child, depressed, trouble in school, not making friends, forgetful, etc. and so you seek the answer and the wrong diagnosis clearly can result. I've seen it, more than once. It doesn't mean one or the other isn't something she did have but I think the sexual abuse from a very young age was likely a LOT of it.

There's also a HUGE difference in the level of doctor or psych you see and he evaluation used, if any even.

Whether she's a teen that actually did forget her phone or leave it accidentally we may never know or whether that's a lie. I even wonder since all such is up in the air if he or they didn't want the phone found and so it remained. There may be or have been absolutely nothing in appropriate from Stephen sent to her on her phone. However the living in the woods remark and who knows what else maybe was intended to be seen .

Hard to say. Too many questions, too few answers.

There's a lot of misdiagnosed with this over the years or to quick to put it down to such and prescribe. Yes, agree, they need to make sure of these diagnoses.

To find out, They are POS sickening criminals that do awful things. Why?. I can't understand. I think they believe they are so wonderful, And want to carry on the legacy. Whatever it may be.

Wasn't there a doctor once who did like in vitro or whatever and rather than giving women the sperm of real donors, he was given them his? And it was found out at some point and several women uknowningly had his child rather than the donor they picked?

Sounds almost Hitlerish as well. The supreme race...

Not sure if this freak here had that purpose but that sure isn't a normal teenage thought imo, for a boy particularly, and to save and collect his sperm. How did he plan to get it into these nonexistent girls IF and when he had one ever?

Not sure about it all, but he sure had things messed up regardiing such and was a mixed up teen at least I'd say.
