Maya “May” Millete, 39, was last seen Thursday evening in her Chula Vista home near the San Miguel Ranch area, according to her loved ones. Family and friends said her car is still at her home and her phone has been going to voicemail since her disappearance.

Hospitals, jails and morgues have been contacted by the woman’s kin, but they said she has not been found at any of those locations.

Maya and Larry Millete are high school sweethearts married for 21 years with three children — ages 4, 9, and 11.

Maya has been missing from her Chula Vista home since last week. Millete says they had argued the night before.

"We had problems this year, up and downs," Millete told ABC 10News.

He said his wife has left before for the night to blow off steam, but he became worried when she didn't show up for their daughter's birthday on Sunday.

"If she didn't have her car, a friend would have to pick her up. That's the only reason I was like, 'maybe she's wine tasting or hiking with a friend,'" says Millete.

Maya works as a defense contractor at Naval Base San Diego and didn't show up for work on Monday.

"I called her boss, she didn't even log in. And that's the other alarming part, because work for her is like a party ... that's her outlet," Millete says.

Millete says he will continue to search, anxiously waiting.

Millete’s sister previously told ABC 10News that the family does not feel they are being supported and it’s been heartbreaking because they said there has been no communication.

To add to their heartbreak, Maricris said the family has had to hire a lawyer to attempt to get visitation rights to see Maya and Larry’s three children. Maricris said she has not seen her sister’s children in four months.

CHULA VISTA, Calif. — The parents of Maya Millete have filed a family court petition to force visitation with the missing mother's three children.
The grandparents alleged in the filing that Maya's husband, Larry Millete, has not allowed the family any contact with the kids.
“We haven't seen the kids almost five months now, not talking to them, not being with them all this time,” said Maya’s sister, Maricris Drouaillet, in a May 21 interview with News 8.

“We want to see the kids. We miss them. We want to make sure that they know that our side of the family loves them,” Drouaillet said during the same interview.

Millete, 39, went missing on January 7 from the family's home on Paseo Los Gatos in Chula Vista.

In the family court petition filed May 27, the grandparents -- Pablito and Noemi Tabalanza -- alleged, “Larry has cut off all communication between us and the Children. We have tried to informally work with Larry to establish some reasonable visitation/communication between us and the children. Unfortunately, Larry has not responded to our requests.”

News 8 is not identifying the minor children, who are ages 4, 9 and 11.
The petition said, “Considering the daily trauma that the children are going through with the disappearance of their mother... they need all the sources of stability, love and support they can get. Continuing to deprive the children of our relationship is severely detrimental to their health and emotional well-being."

San Diego family law attorney Anton Georghiou is not involved in the Millete case, but he agreed to review the petition.

“I would expect the court would grant their petition given these circumstances,” Georghiou said.

The judge will issue a ruling based on the best interests of the children, according to Georghiou.

“It may actually be really detrimental to these children to not be seeing grandparents when their mom is gone, and when they don't know where she might be or if they'll ever see her again,” said Georghiou.

“The visitation is usually very limited for grandparents. So, although they can get visitation, but that visitation is usually a few hours a month,” the attorney said.

I sure do hope they grant the grandparents to be able to see their grandchildren. Those kids need family.

They have CASA for foster kids, but I've never heard of it in a crime case.
They may appoint a guardian ad litem. Not sure since they aren't looking for custody but just visitation. I imagine there will be and for sure if he fights the grandparents seeing the kids. Jmo. They will want to decide if it is good or bad for the children based on missing mom, etc. I am sure of this much, if they do get to see them, they have to be careful not to influence them, question them, etc. I would almost bet on it. Again, jmo.

Reminds me of Crystal Rogers Mom fighting for visitation, however she was denied.

I wonder if any of these judges are aware of what happened in the Susan Cox Powell case? If there's a CHANCE that children are in the sole care of someone who may have killed their mother, wouldn't it be in their best interest to see other family members? Grrrrrr.

New updates include CVPD interviewing three more individuals, two new search warrants issued, and reviewing eight new tips.

This is where the investigation stood, as of June 16:
  • Interviews with 64 individuals to include family members, friends, neighbors and witnesses.
  • Written 44 search warrants to include residences, vehicles, cellular and electronic devices, call detail records, financial records, social media and cloud data.
  • Reviewed over 93 tips on Maya’s possible location and reason for disappearance. These tips have come from the local community and from around the country. Most recent tips continue to include possible sightings of Maya in different areas of California.
  • Based on investigative leads, law enforcement has also conducted searches in the area of east Chula Vista to include 500 Hunte Parkway.
