Maya “May” Millete, 39, was last seen Thursday evening in her Chula Vista home near the San Miguel Ranch area, according to her loved ones. Family and friends said her car is still at her home and her phone has been going to voicemail since her disappearance.

Hospitals, jails and morgues have been contacted by the woman’s kin, but they said she has not been found at any of those locations.

Maya and Larry Millete are high school sweethearts married for 21 years with three children — ages 4, 9, and 11.

Maya has been missing from her Chula Vista home since last week. Millete says they had argued the night before.

"We had problems this year, up and downs," Millete told ABC 10News.

He said his wife has left before for the night to blow off steam, but he became worried when she didn't show up for their daughter's birthday on Sunday.

"If she didn't have her car, a friend would have to pick her up. That's the only reason I was like, 'maybe she's wine tasting or hiking with a friend,'" says Millete.

Maya works as a defense contractor at Naval Base San Diego and didn't show up for work on Monday.

"I called her boss, she didn't even log in. And that's the other alarming part, because work for her is like a party ... that's her outlet," Millete says.

Millete says he will continue to search, anxiously waiting.

Larry Millete’s uncle files letter of support in court

The uncle of Larry Millete is coming to his nephew’s defense in advance of a gun violence restraining order hearing set for next week.

Ricky Lincoln filed a court declaration on Wednesday that said his nephew was loyal to his wife, Maya Millete, who has been missing more than five months.

“Larry is hurting... The threats on social media, and the incorrect news reporting doesn't help either. Last I heard in this country, you're innocent until proven guilty,” the uncle’s declaration said.

"We both put our lives on the line and gave an oath to protect this country and the Constitution. He shouldn't have to be treated this way by the people, news media, or the authorities,” Lincoln’s declaration said.

Late Wednesday, CVPD issued an update saying investigators have written 44 search warrants in the case, interviewed 64 individuals, and reviewed 93 tips and investigative leads into Maya’s disappearance.

The recent court filings are leading up to a gun violence restraining order hearing set for Tuesday, June 22 in downtown San Diego, where a judge will decide whether to extend a temporary GVRO against Larry Millete.

A hearing in another case filed in Chula Vista family court by Maya’s parents – seeking visitation with their three grandchildren – has not been set.

Maya’s sister said the family’s attorneys have been unable to serve family court papers on Larry Millete, despite four or five attempts.

Friends, family, and volunteers have set out for a search for Maya in the park about two blocks from Maya’s home that police say is of interest.

Family say they wish Maya’s husband would help but they haven’t spoken to him nor children since this began.

It’s my understanding they’ll be a vigil tonight

I’m on my cell phone so I can’t link here.
Wednesday was the day LE releases progress on the case. It was the usual of progress, nothing new.
Thursday (yesterday), le did a quick search warrant of the family home. Just looking for anything that could give clue as to what happened to Maya. They also took away Larry’s geep. GPS anyone or tires or undercarriage?
IMHO, trying to keep Larry off his game!

Search warrant served at home of missing Chula Vista mom Maya Millete

A search warrant was executed Thursday at the Chula Vista home of Maya Millete, the mother of three who has been missing since early January, Chula Vista police confirmed. The search was the third conducted at the home in the nearly six months that Maya has been missing.

Detectives served the search warrant at the Millete residence "to obtain additional evidence and clues to her current whereabouts," Chula Vista police Lt. Dan Peak said.

"Today, the Chula Vista Police Department continued our efforts into finding the reason behind May’s disappearance by serving a search warrant at her residence on Paseo Los Gatos in Chula Vista," a statement Dan Peak read in part. "The Chula Vista Police Department along with the multi-agency working group remains committed to bringing May home to her family or bringing justice to May’s family regarding her disappearance."

Maya's Jeep was among the items taken from the home.

Search for Maya Millete: Six months later

Wednesday marks the six-month point since Maya Millete was last seen, it was January 7th of this year, just a week after the new year. Despite persistent efforts to find her by the Chula Vista PD, her family, and the South Bay community, few clues have been uncovered in helping find that missing mother of three.

Millete’s family told News 8, "It's a hard case to crack but they are working hard on it. The Chula Vista Police Department is on top of every single lead. Unfortunately, and that's the hard part for the family, they don't really tell us a lot."

When asked about not being around Maya’s kids, her family added, "Not being around them, it's been heartbreaking and not seeing their mom either and now we don't see her children."

Hi. I don’t know anything about this case. But it seems like too many women go “missing” when their husbands lose their tempers or want a new life. I wonder what the ratio is between missing men and missing women. I saw her sister and brother in law speaking on a YouTube channel. They were really distressed and looking hard at the husband. I always want to believe the husbands are innocent but so far, they never are. Breaks my heart.

This will likely surprise a lot of people, but out of the 20,499 people listed with NamUs, 12,573 are male. 61%. (NamUs is not all inclusive, but I think it gives a good generalization.) More than half are males. 3/5. Nearly 2/3.
We just hear far more about the females.
This is so interesting as I was reading last night about child traffickers snd satanic sacrifices. Yeah how horrible but it was on a news website so ... anyway, it said more little boys are kidnapped than girls for very hard and ugly reasons and especially sacrifice to Satan. While they keep the little girls for, well other horrible things. That’s all I will say as obviously I didn’t sleep well. It ties into the statistics. So sad!

Chula Vista police reveal new efforts in Maya Millete search

Chula Vista police detailed new efforts Wednesday in the search for Maya Millete.

The Chula Vista Police Department is working with the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office, FBI and Naval Criminal Investigative Service in the case. Detectives release new information on their search efforts every two weeks.

In Wednesday’s update, police said since June 30 they’ve interviewed two additional people, written two new warrants and reviewed 11 new tips about Maya’s possible whereabouts.

CVPD said its investigative steps and efforts since Jan. 11 include:
  • Interviews with 70 individuals, including family members, friends, neighbors and witnesses
  • 52 search warrants for residences, vehicles, cellular and electronic devices, call detail records, financial records, social media and cloud data
    • Search warrant served at Maya’s home on Jan. 23
    • Search warrant served at a Millete relatives’ home on April 1
    • Search warrant served at Maya’s home on May 7
    • Gun violence restraining order served to Larry Millete on May 7
    • Search warrant served at Maya’s home on July 1
  • Review of over 110 tips on Maya’s possible location and reason for disappearance. CVPD said tips have come from the local community and from around the country. Most recent tips continue to include possible sightings of Maya in different areas of the country.
  • Based on investigative leads, law enforcement has also conducted searches in the area of east Chula Vista including 500 Hunte Parkway.

Parents of missing mother Maya Millete face long wait for visitation with grandkids

The parents of missing mother, Maya Millete, will have to wait until December, or possibly longer, to see their three grandchildren.

Pablito and Noemi Tabalanza recently filed an amended petition and declaration in San Diego family court asking the judge for a visitation order. They are seeking visitation one or two weekends per month, and/or weekly Facetime calls.

Meanwhile, the children’s father, Larry Millete, still has not been served court papers to appear in the case.

“Since this is a summons, it has to be personally served,” said San Diego family law attorney Anton Georghiou, who is not involved in the Millete case. “Trying to avoid service or evade service may be a delay tactic.”

“If dad is stonewalling and not providing information, then the court is going to have to make the decision in the absence of dad's participation,” said Georghiou.

It has been almost six months since Maya's parents have seen their grandchildren.

A court hearing on their visitation request is now set for December 17, almost a year after Maya went missing from the family's home on January 7.

“That's very typical. If you want some sort of custody order it can take three months, or more than that, to actually get in front of a judge and get any kind of custody orders,” said Georghiou.

If they are still unable to serve the court papers on Larry Millete, the family attorneys may have to publish the notice in the newspaper, creating more delays.

In their declaration, Maya’s parents also wrote:

"We have no intent [of] discussing anything with the children regarding the circumstances of their mother's disappearance. We just want to spend time with the Children and want to ensure that they know their family on their maternal side loves them.”

A mandatory mediation conference with Family Court Services is scheduled for all parties in the case on August 3.

It remains to be seen whether Larry Millete will be served the court’s notice in advance of the mediation conference.

Satanic panic. That really very rarely ever happens. Satanic panic started in the late 70's into the mid nineties. There were alot of people that were hypnotized by therapists then that said they had suppressed memories of being used in satanic rituals that never actually happened.

I'm not familiar with this missing person case but in a quick YouTube search I found this video talking about some of his statements regarding the police searching his home and I find it disturbing that he seems to care more about his gun collection than he does his missing wife. Also, he states that he is not a suspect in her disappearance and there was no indication of foul play. Well if you are not a suspect and no foul play is suspected then why did crime scene detectives come into your home and do a 6 hour investigation? Just my initial opinions and observations.

Hello back. Yes it does seem more women are victims. There is a thing called divorce. I don't get it. I know life insurance is a motive sometimes. But really.
