OR MICHAEL BRYSON: Missing from Hobo Camp, Lane Co, OR - 5 Aug 2020 - Age 27

DORENA, Ore. -- Search efforts have grown to find 27-year-old Michael Bryson who went missing early Wednesday morning.

Bryson was camping at the Hobo Camp Campground with friends last week when he wandered away from the site Wednesday morning and that was the last time he was seen.

The search is not isolated to just the campground and surrounding areas. Friends have deployed into cities all over western Oregon looking for any leads that could point them to where he might be.

His family said the longest they've ever gone without hearing from him is two days.

"It's very rare that five days in he would not have reached out to mom, dad, or sister," his uncle said.

The effort to find Bryson has grown beyond just those who knew him.

A facebook group with more than 2,000 members is dedicated to finding the young man.

The man's dad said Bryson doesn't know a stranger. He said his son was kind and friendly to everyone he met. He said he hopes that's the energy that brings him home.

A $10,000 reward is available for any information leading to his discovery, all which was donated to fuel efforts to find him.

That is just so sad…

I am not sure how many of you know or follow 411 cases…

somehow the disappearance seems like many of them.. but mostly the thought came up when I read that his clothes were found were was searched before…

maybe I missed it but in what shape were the clothes and were they thrown there or neatly folded…?

I pray that this going man will be brought home…

"They were behind a tree, half buried in the mud, growing moss and litchen, and in a spot that would have been generously covered with foliage until recently. I see no reason to assume they were placed there.
Is it possible? Sure. But statistical probability swings heavily in favor of the items having been there for some time."

This comment makes the most sense to me, IMO.
Also...if you were someone involved in Michael's disappearance / death...several issues. Why would you have his clothes in the first place? Why not just leave them with his remains? Also, are you really going to hang on to his clothes for 6 months? And then drive BACK to the scene to plant them instead of just tossing them?
I understand that the family really wants someone, other than Michael, to "blame". If someone harmed him, that's an easy place to direct the grief and anger. If Michael disappeared due to his own issues with drugs, that's a bit harder to swallow.
This is the gist on the clothing from what I've gathered 🙂

I agree, but for me the whole drug thing points to a cover up of some kind. Just my personal opinion.

I was told second hand from someone closer to this case that they were neatly folded.

FAMILY REFLECTS ONE YEAR AFTER MICHAEL BRYSON'S DISAPPEARANCE

One year after Michael Bryson's disappearance, parents Parrish and Tina Bryson say every day their son is missing gets a little tougher, but the hope is never gone.

"There's been a lot of peaks and valleys," Parrish said as he described the past year. "I made a promise to Michael, his mom and his sister that I would bring him home."

His loved ones say his smile was contagious and he made an impact on everyone.

"Michael was well loved by everybody, he still is," said Jack Morris, Michael's former employer at Gridiron Sports Bar in Harrisburg.

They now say they’re just one week away from creating a nonprofit organization called the Michael Bryson Foundation to help families solve missing person cases and advocate for those with mental illness.

Parrish and Tina said mental illness was something Michael coped with.

"Looking back now, we believe he was bipolar," Parrish said. "I've been able to reach someone before they committed suicide because of Michael's story."

The Brysons believe foul play was involved from the evidence they have gathered.

"Michael is not just a missing person, he is a victim," Tina said.

Lane County Sheriff’s Office said they have about three binders filled with tips and leads from the community and that search efforts continue for Michael.

"I wish we had results a long time ago on this case," said Sgt. Tom Speldrich. "We haven't, but we have not given up."

Speldrich said the case is still active although there have been no new developments since December 2020.

The Michael Bryson Foundation has earned their non-profit status!

I briefly spoke to a family member about what they were working on a few months ago. They earnestly want to help families of missing people, so they can navigate easier in order to find their loved one. After seeing how well this family coordinated a team to find Michael, I believe they are going to be VERY helpful to other families!

One of the twins that was at the party, Kassiah Bishop, has passed away. Kassiah was one of the last people to have seen Michael on the big bus the night he disappeared. The reason I'm mentioning this is 1) our heartfelt sympathies go out to her loved ones and 2) maybe she said something to someone who was too afraid to pass along a tip, but now they won't be? That often happens.

I don't know why Kassiah passed away. It is very sad because she also was young and had her whole life ahead of her. :(

I'd have to go back and look but I had read a lot, a ton really on what I think was a FB page. I do recall her name and felt she was key...

Quite young. Wasn't she one of the ones the birthday party was for? Am I remembering correctly?

I don’t remember exactly? Was the birthday party for twins? I thought it was just for one girl. Maybe it was just one of the twins that was talking about it

I can't swear to it but it seems to me it was and/or in fact was one a friend and not an "actual" twin or something... It has been so long but I do know I wondered what really happened as she was the last to see him or it appeared to be the case, etc. per her words. There were other things but since my recall isn't that great with it, I won't voice them but let's just say I wondered... Maybe I have it wrong but I thought it was a mom and the "twins" and it was their party... If I had time to even look back in this thread, I was sharing things for you I think... Because I had time in my life at that point to really read all the posts on the FB page... I might not have shared it in this thread here though...

Two years after Michael Bryson's disappearance, family and friends host 5k shuffle

It's been two years since Michael Bryson went missing near Dorena.

The day started early for dozens of people at Harrisburg High School for the first annual Michael Bryson 5K Shuffle.

Every day, parents Tina and Parrish Bryson have been looking for answers for the last two years.

"What keeps us going is our love for Michael, and we never want our son to be forgotten," Tina said.

They've been raising awareness and hoping for some kind of lead.

"We started the Michael Bryson foundation after he went missing, and it's mainly to bring awareness to missing people and also for mental health and drug addiction," Parrish said. "This 5K was actually spearheaded by our niece, it was her idea to put this on, and it's turned out great."

One hundred eighteen participants crossed the finish line in honor of Michael and others who've gone missing.

Years ago, I thought they would never be able to find cars that were submerged in deep water. Now they’re doing it! I’ve also believed they could never find people who are somewhere in the forest. Now I’m just looking forward to the day when they do have the equipment that will be able to find Michael, Kyron, and thousands out there like them.

I didn't realize his clothing that was found neatly folded was near a swimming hole. That makes the "neatly folded" part make sense.
