I'm not sure if I'm even buying that the aunt actually saw her then. Could be what she was told to say it it also could be wishful thinking. I might be a bit more inclined if we could see ANY current pics and not from the hospital bed newborn pic. Nobody in that baby's family took a pic of her???
I'm the same, in all cases. I want last proof of life by someone independent or something independent like a camera, A CPS worker, an officer, a store clerk, a doctor OTHER than the parents OR their family or friends. While it may be true, I am not going to assume it is. In any case.

I saw on Twitter earlier that the location they were searching may have been a cemetery. Confirmed. Must make searching with cadaver dogs a bit more difficult...

Kentucky State Police search cemetery using cadaver dogs for missing 8-month-old

On Tuesday, KSP said it searched for Miya at a cemetery in Reynolds Station, Kentucky.

KSP Trooper Corey King said at this point, because of the lack of evidence, they don't have a reason to believe she is dead.

However, they did have K9 cadaver dogs assisting with the search.

King said they were unable to find any substantial leads, and they plan to bring in more dogs and search equipment to continue the investigation this week.

Also a bit concerned about how long she's really been missing and/or what kind of care (or lack thereof) she had since the only pic i've seen of this supposed 8 month old baby is as a very fresh newborn. Most people in these days have oodles of pics of their wee ones, or at least their family does. Has this poor baby never had anybody???
I agree on the pics and wasn't it the maternal grandmother who was arrested but then said, probably due to that arrest, mom said CPS took her.... yet maternal grandmom had custody of her other kids. Two smiths, both grandparents have been arrested or do I have the wrong side, isn't it the maternal ones who were arrested? haven't had time to really focus on this one or look at.

Maybe there aren't any pics but with an eight month old child there should have been doctor visits for vaccinations at least. I think this child could have been gone for a LONG time already...

I get HIPPA may exclude them from sharing the last time documented and seen although I would think that alone could be shared, it isn't like it's personal medical info, just attending an appt. but it gets pretty picky these days.

Half or how many of the family is in jail so I'd be leery of believing the relative that says she saw the baby not that long ago...

This child was likely born drug addicted, why did they even have her?

Again haven't had a lot of time to look into, read all links or think on and it is new so I may have some things wrong but know the basics.

And I agree with you not a single parent or family member or friend has a pic to share of this baby that shows here even 3, 6 or 8 months old?

I also agree that she never stood a chance. So some family member has the other children, is there actually a good and responsible one...?

Not always the best source but...

A frantic search is underway for an 8-month-old Kentucky girl who tested positive for meth at birth after her parents failed to report her missing when she was last seen in April.

Family services previously removed Miya’s three older siblings from the home over drug issues and placed them in the care of Miya’s maternal grandmother, but authorities confirmed no social workers or police had gone to the parent’s home to remove the infant, WHAS 11 reported.

Family services had plans for Miya to join her siblings until family members alerted police on May 30 that they hadn’t seen Miya, whose umbilical cord at birth tested positive for meth, since late April.

While King said investigators remained hopeful that Miya might be found alive, he cautioned: “The longer this goes, the more grim of an outcome this will be.”

Oh, I'm sure this will be a grim outcome. My main question is if they do find her will get remains be that of a very fresh newborn or an 8 month old.

KSP: Miya Tucker’s maternal grandmother, arrested on warrant, baby still not found

Miya Tucker’s maternal grandmother and another man were arrested Wednesday afternoon in Daviess County on outstanding warrants from other areas, but the missing 8-month-old has still not been found, according to the Kentucky State Police.

KSP Public Information Officer Corey King said troopers executed a search warrant at a home on Leitchfield Road near East Parrish Avenue where Tucker’s maternal grandmother lived. She was the one who was holding Miya’s three older siblings, all of whom had previously been removed from the care of Miya’s parents, Tesla Tucker and Cage Rudd.

“They did find some items there but no baby,” King said.

King said the grandmother was arrested. Another man in the home was also arrested, but King said at this time he was not able to confirm if it was Miya’s grandfather. The names of the two people arrested were not immediately available.

Both people were arrested on warrants. Specific charges will be announced later.

“They’re not related to drugs or the missing baby. I think they’re just unresolved warrants from other areas,” King said.

King said social services is in the process of removing the three children to a better location.

So now both sets of grandparents arrested and both parents, etc., I wouldn't take the word of any family member of last seeing this baby, maybe the sister isn't like the rest but we sure have a lot of family on both sides and one set of grandparents who was caring for the other children NOW under ARREST. And now the kids are with no family because apparently NONE are fit to take care of them and all are alleged criminals. Note they didn't hand them to the sister either...

I don't know what the deal was here but it isn't good.

That's why I'm not taking the aunt's word for it. This group has so far given me every reason to not believe anything that they say.

They are still only using a days old pic of her with no update since. I'm not buying that in this age of cell phones and them being drug dealers, they definitely have cell phones, that there has not been an updated pic of her. Is that because there wasn't a baby to take pics of?

I am totally on your page on this one. I can believe in parents and family into drugs not giving a **** if they do fuzzy FB kid pictures or any pictures or care to bother but since about how many of family have now been arrested on both sides, why would I believe the word of the sister? And she didn't take a pic either for seeing her niece.... I am bad about not taking pics so I can let that go to a POINT.

This child would have been due for more than one immunization by eight months old. This child was BORN drug addicted and not removed. WTF? The other kids were with grandma and grandpa who are now under arrest!!

Maybe the sister is the one nonliar stellar one in the family but that's a bit of a reach since it seems about every other family member is not...

And let's add to this what were the other kids going through and dealing with placed with grandparents who now also appear to not have been people to have custody of the other children either...

The pics are one thing and hard to believe NO ONE took one after she was a newborn. But where IS in EIGHT MONTHS any INDEPENDENT SIGHTING? AND like I said vaccinations? Baby well check ups may be blown off but there IS a vaccination schedule most follow. Even with HIPPA I would think cops could determine if such an appointment was made or kept? If it goes so far as that can't be determined by LE at least, then it has gone too far.

And we do know the aunt did not have the children placed with her nor did any other family member....

‘Street drugs can and will destroy lives’: More Arrests as Search Continues for 8-Month-Old Kentucky Baby

Seven people are facing charges as the search for an 8-month-old Kentucky baby continues.

Miya Rudd (also referred to as Miya Tucker) has not been seen “since the end of April,” according to an arrest citation. Police, however, began looking for her on June 6.

“This is truly a case on how illicit street drugs can and will destroy lives and cause the erosion of our community,” KSP Trooper Corey King said Tuesday.

King stated that cadaver dogs first searched the family’s home, which gave them sufficient evidence to warrant the search in the surrounding area. He added that Miya’s parents have been uncooperative with the investigation.

“We’re very hopeful and optimistic that we would find her alive, maybe perhaps a family member has her, but the longer this goes on, the more grim it seems,” he said.

King said social workers planned to remove Miya, born in October 2023, from the parents after her umbilical cord that tested positive for methamphetamine. The parents reportedly evaded social services for months by moving to different homes.

“Every aspect of interviewing and investigating, merely looking for the safety of this child has netted an arrest, a drug arrest,” King said.

“All we’re trying to do is get the answers to where the whereabouts of this child, but sadly, everybody that’s involved in this, when we go to talk to them, we find drugs and they go to jail.”
