Grandmother of Miya Rudd facing more charges in death investigation

The grandmother of Miya Rudd is facing additional charges stemming from her death investigation.

50-year-old Taletha D. Tucker of Owensboro is being charged with first-degree criminal abuse (child under 12), controlled substance endangerment to a child and first-degree hindering prosecution or apprehension.

Kentucky State Police detectives determined Tucker, who was given custody of Tesla Tucker’s children, violated a court order established by the Department of Community-Based Services before this investigation was launched.

Tesla is the mother of Miya Rudd.

According to the press release, a hair follicle sample was taken from each child and two of the three children returned positive for methamphetamine and cannabis.

Authorities believe the grandmother permitted the children to stay with Tesla in Reynolds Station which violated the order and came in contact with the substances.

The investigation also determined that she provided a large sum of money to Tesla Tucker and Cage Rudd in an effort to avoid apprehension from law enforcement at the beginning of this investigation.

Detectives are awaiting the Medical Examiners Report and the results from Miya Rudd.

The investigation is ongoing.
Oh, good heavens.

No words I don't think need to be said here because they can be intuited what most I would hope and all I'd actually hope are thinking and have to say about tall of this. So I won't bother.

And did I not hear somewhere or ead recently in Quinton Simon's case the other kids are still with grandma... If I recall mayk still be some court thing going on over that...

Grandmas putting the kids back with who they are not be be near...But major CPS failures as well...

I don't need to go into it, I think we can all see it, and I dont' think anything I'd say would be any surprise to anyone.

Another poor child that didn't even have grandparents to help protect when parents/s bad, which I think I said above in this thread.

Glad she was sentenced though.

So grandma was just a facilitator to help her daughter stay in contact with her children. Even though that was a danger to her own grandchildren. Lovely.

I'm not defending anyone, just making sure of some facts.

Grandma was violating the court order prior to Miya disappearing. So Grandma was behaving badly the entire time and not adequately protecting her grandchildren. This would be rough on anyone, but geez these people seem feral.

Tesla never lost custody of infant Miya due to a major CPS fumble.

I am talking of grandma. Why wasn't something done? Imo that's a failure.

And she put her against court order near the mother.

Of course there are failures and she should have been overseen or interfered with or whatever.

Or maybe they call it Dept. of Community Based Services. Whatever the case, why weren't their welfare checks, etc. or nothing done as you put it the entire time.

It's much like Quintons' case/grandmother.

It's simply my opinion, I was not saying the mom lost them this or that way but am saying there should have been overseeing by CPS/DCF or whatever they wish to call it. Was there or not? Not enough probably.

Anyhow, we all I think agree on the family members involved here, the key ones anyhow. And I'm sure about how tragic the death of this child is as well.

Just clarifying what I meant.
