Nevada woman disappears from Walmart, brother says video shows masked man forcing himself into her car

The brother of a missing Nevada woman, who disappeared Saturday from a Walmart parking lot, said chilling surveillance video shows a man force his way into her car before driving away.

Naomi Irion, 18, of Fernley in Northern Nevada, was last seen about 5 a.m. at the store’s parking lot, according to a Wednesday statement from the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.

Irion’s four-door sedan was later found in an industrial area in Fernley, and a suspect believed to be driving a dark, newer model Chevrolet High Country pickup may know her whereabouts, police said.

Irion’s older brother, Casey Valley, 32, told NBC News on Thursday that surveillance footage from the Walmart shows a man wearing a face mask and a hoodie walk to the parking lot from the direction of a dirt lot, circle his sister’s car and then force his way in.

“He circled around the parking lot maybe to make sure there were no witnesses,” Valley said. “He came up behind the car and forced his way into the driver’s side of the car. Maybe her door was unlocked. He either said or did something to make her move to the passenger seat and then he drove her car away into an unknown direction.”

Representatives with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office could not be immediately reached Thursday to corroborate Valley’s account. Valley also told NBC affiliate KRNV in Reno about the video.

The sheriff’s office is expected to hold a press conference about the case later Thursday.

I didn't remember this but Grizzley said he tried to kill himself like last year and then she said like three times is what I think she said. She talked to Naomi's mom shortly after this time and they are trying to process it. Just came across this on a refresh of YT. This is a "short" meaning I think under a minute in length.

He has constant mental evals he requests and more and suicide attempts.... He constantly denies being suicidal to get off isolation, etc.

This is giving a constant timeline with a lot of dates and checks and activity. The press conference which is what he plays from the first moment in this vid.

Pretty much says Driver was guilty with insurmountable evidence and he no longer is a threat, etc. Now next guy is up and said not the result her family wanted for justice.

By way I don't get a lot of time but when I do and see something and usually can't watch the whole thing, I do try to share so others can and to help threads.

It does bother me when they say first step was to review Walmart video but I think it was her brother that actually did that, not saying cops should have been as quick as family because the system just doesn't work that way and she was "just" a missing adult but still...

The first full hour of this is press conference and I didn't plan to or think I'd get to watching it but it is well worth it imo. This thread has seven pages. Her case was certainly not the most active here or anywhere else yet it was a huge deal.

Her brother if anyone recalls is the one who really was active from the start and having to get things going imo.

This is worth watching. The department and all involved give answers we would have heard had he been prosecuted. A ton of them. I think they give her family answers and try hard to give some kind of closure. She was raped by him. He did preplan this and have a "burial" site ready at a mine I think it was where he had work access prior, etc. She was not necessarily his planned victim just some female was. I honestly was impressed. They pay tribute to her and the family and they give full answers. He had attempted suicide a few times. He had written a letter to his gf part of which was shared. Her mother wrote a statement someone read and her brother, in my opinion, the hero, gave a statement. it might have been a bit slow going, when have we seen an LE department get video in the first day or two, that is a problem, they NEVER seem to, but once they got on this and got going they got him. He was evil. He will be forgotten and she remembered.

There are a lot of case details they shared. This wasn't just some tribute, it fully went into what they had and what would have been shown as proof and evidence if they prosecuted and he had not taken the coward's way out. As you all know I have little time, but I felt it worth the time.

the family and Naomi were cheated out of justice but they have done their part in providing that with this very thorough and I think meaningful and caring press conference.

I don't know what kind of mental health evaluator released him after each suicide attempt but they did.

He was a coward. Big man likely with a weapon over a girl but that makes him a coward in life and he was a coward in death. She sounds like she was a LIGHT for all.

Anyhow I recommend watching or at least listening while you do other work. RIP Naomi.
