Well there is a range they face isn't there? Haven't seen them GET life sentences yet and if I were the prosecution, I'd maybe make the decision whether to retry based on what sentence is handed down.

As far as where the boys are, yes, I am sure their family and all of us would love that info BUT that ship has sailed. I guess they could offer it or one could in exchange for something and maybe the family would go for it and ask the prosecution to make such a deal but I don't see either of these two doing that or providing the truth and if they did, I wouldn't believe them until one found them.

Personally I think they put them in dumpsters somewhere. I don't see them as ambitious I see them as lazy. Neither could even fake a real search for them on their fake report of abduction. Neither one made or could make a living. They could collect funds for foster or adopted children but they couldn't be bothered to do the work of caring for them or taking care of them. I have to laugh when they are described as an artist or a recording artist, etc. They never made sh*t doing either thing. Neither is an adult and couldn't adult. MUCH LESS PARENT and yet the State of CA handed them all these children and a big monthly check. Unbelievable. But fact.

A Kern County Superior Court judge postponed the sentencing Thursday for the couple convicted of killing their 4-year-old adoptive son Orrin until September based on a request by the defendants.

Trezell, 36, and Jacqueline West, 33, were convicted of second-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter and willful cruelty in the death of 4-year-old Orrin West. Jurors couldn't decide if the couple killed Orrin's 3-year-old brother, Orson, and deadlocked on another second-degree murder charge.

Jurors also deadlocked on a conspiracy charge but convicted the couple of falsely reporting an emergency, a misdemeanor. The Wests face decades in prison.

Judge Charles Brehmer said in court the defendants asked to postpone the sentencing so they can file the necessary paperwork. The request was granted and Chief Trial Deputy Eric Smith didn't have an objection.

Sentencing was scheduled for Sept. 13.

Smith could also decide to retry the Wests on the charges jurors couldn't reach a decision for. He didn't announce if the Kern County District Attorney's Office sought to do so.

Keep an eye on this one. Seriously. Nothing would surprise me or to see a fix coming or sensing a fix came in.

In the meantime, what has happened with the department who placed these children and allowed this speedy adoption, etc.? NOTHING.
 
OH F*** THIS!!!!! WTF?!!! Request by the defendants huh?. These people are the lowest!!! They aren't fooling anyone by the fact the boys bodies haven't been found. But too stupid to realize it. And they are NEVER going to tell where they are. I just hope that they are so they can rest in peace. Something they never had in life.

Yeah I have little doubt these two precious boys were tortured and abused. This couple is bad news.

Sure don't hear much about the connected uncle of T much any longer but...

The agency in this case and people IN IT need to be imprisoned. They SENT these boys off to their abuse and DEATH to this couple who had no right on God's green earth to foster or adopt ANY child nor could ANYONE in their right mind view as fit or a good choice.

Yeah, I think that's likely although testimony would also have it as they were killed at different times. I think one more than likely went into the dumpster in Bakersfield. I personally don't believe either made ti to Cali City but if so, he was killed right around then or just after or even during the move he was disposed of.

I agree wholeheartedly. I think I can think of more cases than that but would have to think about it. There was one in Vegas and I don't think he had a car or drove if I recall. I think some are just flat out lazy AND as you say consider the kids garbage, nothings and that is REALLY maddening. Quinton, the one where mom and grandma partied and mom left him with her and was not supposed to was found in a landfill. That's just off the top of my head. Adults too.

And I think a few not as lazy as others know of garbage days and plan to put them in when they know it will immediately picked up, after picked up, they call it in as a missing child. Jennifer Dulos, adult, I think they were going through like a garbage sorting plant. More. Lots more. Also not as lazy ones go to a dumpster, etc. elsewhere. Some just dump the evidence in them but not the body. That Florida one with the "witch" guy. Child found alone wandering. Mother and stuff was dumped in gas station dumpster. Mother still not found.

In this case, imo Trezell and Jackie were terribly abusive but lazy in life in all ways. Jmo. I think someone saw them with was it a tote or suitcase going to the dumpster at the appropriate time frame.

A judge has granted a motion brought by four defendants and dismissed them from a federal lawsuit filed in connection with the disappearance of Orrin and Orson West.

U.S. District Judge John A. Mendez last week dismissed Kern County Human Services, its former director, Dena Murphy, social worker Anna Zavala-Garza and Kim Johnson, director of the state Department of Social Services, from the lawsuit filed by Ryan Dean and Dana Moorer, the boys’ biological mother and grandmother.

Mendez found the statute of limitations had passed and that Dean and Moorer’s attorneys failed “to provide any factual specificity of how each (defendant) contributed to the alleged abuses,” according to the ruling filed last week.

The judge also stayed the case against against the remaining defendants, Trezell and Jacqueline West, the boys’ adoptive parents, for 120 days pending their sentencing.

Aside even from this lawsuit heads should be rolling in Kern County Human Services and the director, social worker and more. WHERE IS THAT and WHY IS IT NOT HAPPENING? I call b.s. from dismissing them in this case as well. Don't know about the statute but it has not been three years since these boys went missing so bullsh*t. And that's not even WHEN it was filed, it was filed before NOW.

A Kern County Superior Court judge granted a request to postpone a sentencing hearing Wednesday for a couple convicted of killing their adopted toddler, Orrin West, because defense attorneys need more time to file "additional information" for the judge to consider.

Judge Charles R. Brehmer didn't address what the "additional information" concerns during the hearing lasting less than a minute. He added the information will help him decide if Trezell, 36, and Jacqueline West, 32, should be sentenced on Sept. 28, the next hearing date, or if it should be postponed again.

Chief Trial Deputy Eric Smith, who tried the case, didn't have any public objections.

I sense or suspect influence and power... Okay maybe they just have some friend that can say something on their behalf that hey can't get a hold of... Mm-hmmm.

This is also unusual. Can't think of when I've seen defendants ask for more time after conviction and before sentencing or to delay sentencing.

No argument by the State though so it must be minor right? Better be.
 
I am sooooo sick of these continuance cases! It seems like every one!!! And ALWAYS THE DEFENSE!!! ENOUGH!!! IMO they all deserve death. And this. A CHILD IS NOT A CHECK!!! You see it more and more. ENOUGH of that too!!! Where's the vetting of that?!!!

Totally agree.

Let's not forget though the agency basically gets a check for the more they adopt out each year. It actually gives them an incentive to TAKE children so they have more to adopt out and it also gives them an incentive to not reunite. And of course awful people out there that are NOT VETTED AT ALL take these children FOR A CHECK. Abuse them, starve them, torture them, murder them and then keep collecting.

And I think every so often in this one there should be a reminder that his uncle is the head of the N A A C P. I imagine he still is. After speaking up for them he has went pretty silent the last year or whatever... Seemed to think he did and they did that his clout would stop anyone looking at them as perps, etc. It did NOT.

But the public who was ALL OVER THIS OVERBOARD has went silent. Not liking that.

Another good reminder would be that HER mother I believe lived in the same apartment complex with foster, etc. children too, too many and in too small of a place.

And SOME relative runs a home for children or some such too, nonprofit or something...

And THIS agency needs to be on criminal charges, and all of its directors, workers, etc.!

Like I said, watch this one and these two. I don't know what's up but keep an eye on it and holler from the rooftop if necessary.

They tried them but they want the tenatacles of all the other stuff and the agency being under scrutiny (they aren't) or any possibility of it shut down. I think the bio family has a lawsuit against the agency but not hearing much about it...
