PAUL & MAGGIE MURDAUGH: South Carolina vs. Alex Murdaugh for Double Homicide of wife & son *GUILTY*

This case is being kept pretty quiet, no major details released to speak of (other than it does say there were two different guns used), but no info regarding who found them, who called 911, very little else.

Of interest, the grandfather died just a few days after these murders and it sounds as if he was ill from various articles so probably not unexpected. I think of the typical motives, did grandpa have a big estate? How big in the overall family of grandpa's on down? They sound like a pretty well known family and a powerful one in their state, more on that in the article.

Oh, now sponsors. it's their 1000th episode. Argggghhhh. Laundry detergent he promotes now. GET ONTO SOME NEWS. I've said more than once not my fave but I have YET to hear a WORD about the case, EIGHT and a HALF minutes in so bypass that much. Then FINALLY it gets to it. Not a MINUTE, NOT TWO, but EIGHT PLUS.

it finally gets into some of the meat of it and Judge Toal's comments and decision, which I heard when it happened but good to hear it again.

Yeah i skipped over the beginning and heard the guy who said he represents the jurors. He did mention some info that was sealed (juror interviews with the judge i think he said) which he will have to submit to the Supreme Court now, so i don't know what that is. Also he mentioned that the judge may have misinterpreted a case precedent, so we shall see what happens.

Yeah, I did not need to hear all that either but I did, all 8 1/2 minutes, that's why I warned the rest of you so no one else had to sit through it.

I don't recall that part, maybe I didn't catch it, about sealed interviiews or it just didn't register.

Even as the South Carolina Supreme Court prepares to hear appeals to determine if convicted double murderer Richard "Alex" Murdaugh deserves a new trial over allegations of jury tampering, two former jurors and their attorney have come forward and publicly cast doubts on whether Murdaugh received a fair murder trial back in 2023.

Myra Crosby was formerly known only as the dismissed Juror 785 or "The Egg Lady" during the six-week Murdaugh murder trial in Walterboro. Mandy Pearce was formerly known only as Juror 630 during the 2023 murder trial or Juror Z during the January 2024 hearing that denied Murdaugh a retrial.

Both jurors, who had remained anonymous until this week, and their attorney Joe McCulloch, agreed to an exclusive interview for a new FOX Nation special titled "Fall of the House of Murdaugh: From Egg to Z," which aired Tuesday and was hosted by anchor Martha MacCallum. It is available to watch on streaming channels.

Justice system may not have been fair?

During the latest Fall episode, both jurors and their attorney make claims that the justice system may not have been fair in the double-murder case of disbarred attorney Murdaugh.

Crosby tells Fox Nation that she believes she was improperly dismissed from the jury because "they couldn't read me" and because she had doubts about Murdaugh's guilt. She also stated that she felt that the former, now embattled Colleton County Clerk of Court, Becky Hill, was trying to influence the jury members.

Crosby discusses Facebook posts alleged to have been made by her ex-husband and an e-mail that surfaced accusing her of talking about the case outside the courtroom. She also claims that Hill targeted her for removal from the jury.

Crosby earned the dubious nickname of "Egg Lady" or "Egg Juror" because she was dismissed for allegedly discussing the case outside of the courtroom and asking someone to fetch her pocketbook and her dozen eggs from the jury room. This incident is explained in more detail in the episode.

Pearce, the only deliberating juror who testified her guilty verdict was swayed by Hill during a January 2024 hearing on the allegations gives "firsthand accounts of the twists and turns of the case" and also expresses her doubts about Murdaugh's guilt and access to a fair trial.

The Egg Lady was talking to people about the trial, was it not to her renters or some such? As to the second juror, jurors are NOT to be swayed by things that they aren't to consider so neither belonged on the jury.

I am NOT saying wrong was not done, but am saying we have a majority who do not say as these two do AND who were NOT swayed.

All that said, a fair trial is deserved by anyone.

I'm not sold really one way or another and while Becky Hill did the dumbest things of even writing a book during trial, etc., I don't care if it is "okay", make the wiser decisions you dumb woman.

I also see politics all over this case on both sides of this and infighting in their corrupt little area.

And so, I really am not decided but know the majority of the jurors did not say the same.

Whatever happens, I have total faith with the same case another jury will convict him again. I don't want to see it come to that but if it does, that's what I see happening.

The second one having doubts about his guilt, I have absolutely no idea HOW anyone could have such. So I question her intelligence, sorry.

Finally, after never wanting their names out, here they are in all their glory. You know some trials do have the fame seekers trying to get on the jury. How these two got on I wonder as well by the way... I mean they could be swayed and one could not keep her mouth shut when going home either...

I don't deny however that Becky Hill singlehandedly gives what I think are two questionable jurors anyhow, fuel with her ridiculous decisions. And I don't even think ALL is true about her as to all claims but regardless, the book alone was a DUMB decision. See the trial through, do your job, then leave your job and go write a book. I don't care if there is a rule you do such or don't, it is the WISE decision. Dumb b__tch.

Well, he'll probably get a retrial now. Stupid effing book!

I called her a stupid b*tch above and you call the book stupid lol. Both are true no doubt.

Let's hope he doesn't get a new trial but I guess we will find out.

A long term well respected judge found no cause and they'd have to overturn her on appeal.

I can't help but think at times this was a plan/rigged but not in the way claimed. I'd like to hear the initial questioning of these two jurors during jury selection and hear what they had to say.

I don't recall if jury selection was live, I know jurors were not shown but was it heard? The trial was so I'm thinking so? I know I didn't watch it or much of it (jury selection) if it was. I did watch some of the trial. Regardless of Hill they took oaths and and answered questions and had rules that they seem to have failed to abide by when they served.

You know it's odd to me that the defense went out trying to find all the jurors to talk to. I don't mean it can't be done but I can't think of many cases where such was. Normally paperwork starts and typical and any appeal they can come up with and that's it. And I find it almost overly dramatic along with Old Pooter's description of how big attorneys like them were traveling in their fancy car down dirt roads to parts forgotten, as if they are doing hype for a movie based in the "old south". It's almost as if also they knew to immediately go looking for something here...

Regaredless though of all I suspect otherwise, there is dumb Ms. Becky and her dumb book giving the fuel on top of it squarely in the middle of it all.

This is quite the Peyton place there on "both" sides and corruption seems to reign on "both" sides. I exempt the judge and the prosecutor as saw nothing but them doing their jobs and doing such well but other than that, well... Had anything just (I mean the justice kind of just) ever happened there in their courts?

Isn't that why she and her son lost their jobs?

I was just coming to post about the egg juror but see Summer beat me to it LOL.
well the son was wiretapping and is/was accused, etc. but I don't know that it has ever been said it related to the Murdaugh case. Not saying it didn't but I don't think we have those details do we?

As to her, "officially" she resigned... She wasn't fired... Like we see in many a case with people of note and jobs of note.... Guessing at least the pressure and talks behind closed doors of her use for the courthouse to promote her book and maybe a lot more... It was probably resign or we are going to fire you and our you on all this...

I didn't realize you hadn't seen the recent juror stuff or you had and came in to mention it...

Anyhow as far as the two of them, I'm not even sure if the son was fired but I do know she resigned... And did a public thing on it with some staff appearing to be by her side in such...

Last I heard on the wiretapping and ethics was there was supposed to be a GJ on it.

That sounds right now that you mention it.

Her son and his wiretapping could definitely be related to her, her book, keeping both in the know as to goings on or anything or not even related to her (although I think there was some email or cell text connection there if I recall) but just saying I don't think it is confirmed yet son was in any way about the Murdaugh thing nor was her "graceful" resignation... More to come I'm sure...

The South Carolina Supreme Court is set to take up convicted double-murderer Alex Murdaugh’s appeal. The order released Tuesday means that the five justices who make up the state’s highest court will bypass the appeals court and directly take up the question of whether Colleton County Clerk of Court Becky Hill prejudiced the jury during Murdaugh’s trial in the winter and spring of 2023. While a lower court ruled that Hill did have inappropriate conversations with jurors, they did not find any evidence of prejudice. But Tuesday’s order sets up a clash of what legal standard is necessary to prove that a state official tampered with a jury. Prosecutors with the South Carolina’s Attorney General’s Office have argued that a new trial is not necessary as there was no evidence that Hill’s actions prejudiced the jury while Murdaugh’s defense attorneys have said that the very fact that she had inappropriate contact with

Convicted killer Alex Murdaugh could be retried for the murders of his wife and son after the South Carolina Supreme Court agreed to hear his appeal accusing the court clerk of jury tampering during the original trial.
The order, issued on Tuesday, means the high-profile murder case that captured nationwide attention, will skip the appeals process and go straight to the high court.
Arguments will be heard about whether or not Murdaugh should be given a new murder trial based on his allegations that Colleton County Clerk of Court, Becky Hill, tampered with jurors and pushed them to a guilty verdict.
In March 2023, after a six-week trial, a jury convicted Murdaugh of shooting and killing his wife Maggie, 52, and 22-year-old son, Paul, at the family’s hunting estate on June 7, 2021. He is serving two life sentences for their murders.

Murdaugh’s team then requested a new trial based on allegations of jury tampering.
But earlier this year, South Carolina Chief Justice Jean Toal ruled that the defense did not present enough evidence to grant a new trial.
Hill has repeatedly denied the allegations but has resigned from her position. She is under state investigation and facing at least 76 ethics violations alleging she used her professional position for personal gain.
Murdaugh’s attorneys filed a motion in July requesting the high court review the ruling from earlier this year,

If the state Supreme Court sides with Murdaugh, it could overturn Toal’s decision and the convicted killer could be granted a new trial in the murders of his wife and son.
During Murdaugh’s high-profile trial last year, jurors heard how his son Paul was shot twice with a 12-gauge shotgun while he stood in the feed room of dog kennels. The second shot to his head blew his brain almost entirely out of his skull, the jury was told.
Prosecutors said Murdaugh then grabbed a .300 Blackout semi automatic rifle and opened fire on his wife as she tried to flee. Murdaugh confessed to lying about his alibi on the night of the murders but continued to claim his innocence.
Prosecutors argued that he killed his family to distract from his financial crimes, which threatened to ruin the powerful South Carolina family’s reputation.

In a dramatic moment at his trial, Murdaugh took the stand and confessed to running a vast financial fraud scheme. From 2008 until 2021, Murdaugh swindled dozens of his law firm clients out of millions of dollars, including the family of his longtime housekeeper Gloria Satterfield who helped raise his sons.
Nearly a year after his murder conviction, Murdaugh was sentenced to 40 years in prison for federal financial fraud and 27 years for state financial fraud crimes.

Ok so reading between all the lines in all of this BS, he's gonna get a new trial isn't he?

Then they will find some new evidence and he will get off somehow.

Then he will appeal the sentences in the financials and be out in ten.

And Becky will write another book.

And there will be another Netflix series.

Anything else?

Good Lord I hope none of that happens but there have been times throughout I think that's exactly where they are going and this was planned/a set up.

The judge who decided is well respected so I wouldn't just assume they are going to overturn her decision. They may find her reasoning and interpretation of the case law and laws just and appropriate. Let's hope.

If there were another, I wonder if he'd choose to take the stand again...
