PAUL & MAGGIE MURDAUGH: South Carolina vs. Alex Murdaugh for Double Homicide of wife & son *GUILTY*

This case is being kept pretty quiet, no major details released to speak of (other than it does say there were two different guns used), but no info regarding who found them, who called 911, very little else.

Of interest, the grandfather died just a few days after these murders and it sounds as if he was ill from various articles so probably not unexpected. I think of the typical motives, did grandpa have a big estate? How big in the overall family of grandpa's on down? They sound like a pretty well known family and a powerful one in their state, more on that in the article.

Her story fits the gluttonous self serving immature type Murdaugh seemed to be through and through. Handed everything, had a RIGHT to everything in his opinion, a total glutton as to vices--women, drugs, alcohol, money, power, etc. Everything from day one has pointed to the likely type and I have been waiting to hear the prostititute angle as it seems to go hand in hand with these types... If you ask me the majority of problems in this world stem from men like this running this world, the politics, the corporations, the PGA(?!), etc. or being involved behind the scenes.

This had shades of Epstein and this madam sounded no better than Maxwell., The WOMEN who help these men abuse other women or help get and contain the women DISGUST me almost more that they could participate in such a thing happening to another woman.

His money and the money that was not HIS but stolen had to be going somewhere I have figured from the start... Financing his lifestyle of course and all of his vices and probably the "showing off" as well as to who he was, what he could afford, etc.

He is scum and belongs on the bottom of people's shoes.

Men like this one has to wonder if name and $$ bought their law degree... I mean we know of the college admissions scandals in Hollywood and such things aren't unusual... When daddy is someone in the town, the teachers probably even in grade school just turn a blind eye and give the easy A rather than deal with it.

And then he allegedly killed the son that was apparently turning out to be Alex Jr. using his name and attitude to do anything he liked and get out of trouble, etc. too.

Maybe I'm being unfair but imo it isn't difficult to see the history here and read between the lines as to how the men in the generations of this family were raised.... Or at least the last few generations...

That people don't think corruption goes on rampantly amazes me. As she said judges, D.A.s, even from other states, CEOs, big wigs at the PGA... Police officers, someone in SLED! Etc.

I agree. Him and people like him buy everyone they can. They think everyone has a price. And the women, As you day exploiting other women or being with a man because of his money makes you a whore. And I am not putting down sex workers. These people are scum. Make money from other people's pain, And don't care who they hurt to get what they want.

If she is telling the truth, she did try to get away and never wanted to go into the sex part of things, started as a dancer. She definitely tried to not have to be provided to him but was forced to. He chocked her to where she thought she'd die, the next time pulled hair out by the roots that still doesn't grow back right, etc. and the final time choked her again while also putting a rag in her mouth and slapping her throughout. A real prince. Her MADAM punished her for running from an appt. with him and took her back.

Personally I think even dancing is just giving such types of men a lead in to such a lifestyle and belittles women, I'm sorry but it is my opinion. I get some may start out doing it and think they are the ones that are in control of their lives and bodies but they never seem to end up that way and are groped and treated like sh*t at the clubs too.

But the MEN like him. Yup. Scum who think all are beneath them and they are a somebody and most others are there to please THEM or for their USE. And somehow these men end up in power.... Fix that in this world and a lot of other things will be fixed imo. It won't ever happen though.

I agree. I know someone's cousin. This is just one experience. Was a stripper. She thought she was the best thing on earth. She had sex at least once simply for how much they offered. And she treated abortion like birth control. Her I have no respect for.

And have friends and associates that are the same way.

I imagine the attention and even having men salivating over you (gross but I trust you know what I mean) can go to one's head and make one even feel powerful and I think that may be how it starts for some. BUT putting all your store in your looks and/or that is later in life going to be a downfall when your looks go, not to mention where it can lead one and down what paths.

I too knew someone who was that casual about abortion. I heard her tell someone that was pregnant once, something real close to this: "You can have an abortion you know. It's no big deal, I've had several, nothing to it." Say what?? Birth control no doubt. And she wasn't any youth.

Not that some men care what they look like, if they can "do" them, that's all they care about. i have to wonder how many times Alex gave his wife an STD... Seriously.

I've heard it too.

Oh for sure. First party with him there were several others present and she didn't name these but it was pretty clear some of them are also who are being looked at now in his swindling and other crimes, etc. or so it seemed...

Looks fade. But dumb is forever.

More indictments against Alex Murdaugh

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced Friday that a State Grand Jury has handed down additional indictments against disbarred attorney Alex Murdaugh and two new co-conspirators.

one instance of just how unscrupulous:

“The PMPED accounting office accidentally wrote out a repayment loan check to Murdaugh for $121,358.63 that should have gone to Murdaugh’s brother who did make a loan. Instead of calling attention to the mistake, Murdaugh instead went to the accounting office and through false representations had the office cut another check for the same amount and void the one he had received within the internal system,” the indictment read.

Murdaugh then deposited the loan repayment check into his account and converted the funds for personal use.

In all, Murdaugh was indicted for four counts of obtaining signature or property by false pretenses value $10,000 or more, two counts of money laundering value $20,000 – $100,000, one count of money laundering value $100,000 or more, and two counts of computer crime value more than $10,000.

The other day on Crime Talk I also heard their are new charges against the bank guy, I think Palmetto Bank. I can't recall his name offhand or the charges but they related to another injured client of Murdaugh's and they were I think falsifying a loan claimed to be for a farmer for farming expenses but used it to repay funds of what they had stolen from the female inured client.

Wow. Also the totals now in the article you posted:

Altogether, through 18 indictments containing 90 charges against Murdaugh, the State Grand Jury has indicted Murdaugh for schemes to defraud victims of $8,789,447.77.

What also is shocking is the other guys and just how many people were in on these various things with Murdaugh. Scott Reisch said something to the effect of the other night maybe it could go on for so long because it seems like everyone who was someone or how many big names, etc. were involved in this. I am completely paraphrasing, these are my words but something to that effect. Like all of SC is corrupt in that area lol sort of.

Palmetto State Bank and its former chief executive Russell Laffitte, are facing a new lawsuit alleging they enabled the looting of trust accounts owed to a pair of sisters who lost their mother and brother in an auto accident.

The Aug. 24 lawsuit mirrors criminal charges filed against Laffitte in recent months by state and federal prosecutors. The sisters, Alaynia Spohn and Hannah Plyler, allege Laffitte and their former attorney, since-disbarred lawyer Alex Murdaugh, issued themselves massive personal loans at favorable interest rates from their $6 million settlement account.

Lafitte and Murdaugh later stole from their other clients’ accounts to pay back those loans, according to indictments.
