PAUL & MAGGIE MURDAUGH: South Carolina vs. Alex Murdaugh for Double Homicide of wife & son *GUILTY*

This case is being kept pretty quiet, no major details released to speak of (other than it does say there were two different guns used), but no info regarding who found them, who called 911, very little else.

Of interest, the grandfather died just a few days after these murders and it sounds as if he was ill from various articles so probably not unexpected. I think of the typical motives, did grandpa have a big estate? How big in the overall family of grandpa's on down? They sound like a pretty well known family and a powerful one in their state, more on that in the article.

Hopefully he'll do some serious jail time for the financial :poop: If he didn't do it, I think he knows who did, but if I were on the jury I'd vote to convict based on the evidence we have seen so far. I think the prosecution has botched things too much for a conviction. When Murdaugh said on the stand that he reached out to the prosecutors before the trial, and they snubbed him, the prosecutor missed a golden opportunity. He should have said that as a lawyer he knows defendants don't talk to prosecutors, they talk to police. It's just another example of his feeling entitled. Even if we did agree to meet with you all we would have heard is more of your lies. Why would we waste our time?

It's the end of the Murdaugh bullying in that area, that's for sure, so that's another plus.
If he didn't actually do it, which I think he did - at least one - I am completely convinced he had it contracted. To me and in many states, that is just as guilty as the person that actually did it since it wouldn't have happened without them directing it.

I think every state looks at it like that.

It seems too many ways to cause a mistrial since somebody is likely to say something at sometime.

Also, the defense can pull shenanigans. When the jury went to OJ's house in his trial, it was COMPLETELY different than it had been. There was African art on the walls and stuff that people who knew him said were never there before.

Creighton Waters has finished arguing the State's case. Tomorrow, Jim Griffin will argue the defense case, then the State will offer their rebuttal. After all of that Judge Newman will provide the jury instructions for deliberations.

For anyone who is on the fence, I get it. Listen and hear the second half of Creighton Waters closing. He closed a LOT of loopholes. Don't listen to another tv station's biased opinion; listen for yourself.

I actually believe the jury 'field trip' helped. Here are the pictures from the property taken after the jury completed their quiet tour.

The defense making a huge deal of AMs brother cleaning up the crime scene is all theatrics. LE leaves the mess. It's not their job to clean it. The homeowner/property owner is responsible for it getting done or somebody on behalf of them gets it done. Always.

Well, the outside of the Moselle house was sort of staged too. An old bicycle that supposedly belonged to Maggie was by the front porch and and outdoor table under the windows had a flower pot with Buster's name on it. The WSJ reporter showed the video walk around after the jury was off the property.

This is going to be an acquittal or mistrial.

The two guns bothers me, like you said there may be a logical answer. However, I'm not sure all of the people on the jury will get past that.
I had that floating in my mind too. Creighton Waters did a great job today demonstrating how it was possible. Watch that part only and let me know if you see it the same way.

Could you please put up the video and tell me when it happens please? TIA

Two guns on that property would be no issue at all. There were guns nearly everywhere from looking at photos and several besides AM (I'm discounting EVERYthing he says) testified that Paul left them all over. Why would he have to carry two when there were several within reach in many places there? I have absolutely no problem seeing him stage one or two and that would definitely be premeditation.

The jury can't ask questions. So I don't see the value in this at all.

Prosecutors didn't want them to go. This is the reason the defence wanted them to see it.

"Before the prosecution’s closing arguments on Wednesday, the jury also visited the Murdaugh property to examine the crime scene, at the request of the defence.

While prosecutors objected to the visit on the grounds that the crime scene had changed since 2021, Murdaugh’s lawyers hoped the walk-through – which indicated the distance between the two victims’ bodies – would lead the jury to consider alternative theories about who perpetrated the shootings."

A juror in the double murder trial of disgraced South Carolina attorney Alex Murdaugh was removed Thursday for discussing the case with people outside the court.

<snip>
The juror denied discussing the case with anyone, however, in at least one instance the conversation was recorded and played for the judge.

"Though it does not appear that the conversations were that extensive, it did involve the juror offering her opinion regarding evidence received up to that point in the trial," Newman said.
