Short video of court hearing:

Judge says that his court is not qualified/authorized to determine bond, must be a different (superior court?) judge due to the severity of the charges and state law. Public Defender's office can appeal to the appropriate court for bond, but in the meantime bond denied. (Paraphrased by me)

Interesting. Why have a bond hearing in a court that is not authorized to determine bond? I'm glad bond was denied for now, but another bond hearing might be scheduled if they choose to pursue the bond issue at the appropriate court? :confused:

Georgia should have a law as to how long the accused can be held without a bond hearing. I can't remember if it's here in Oregon or in California, but the law is three working days.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A bond hearing for Leilani Simon who is accused of murdering her 20-month-old son is set for Wednesday at 11 a.m.

One day before the Thanksgiving holiday which Chatham County Police Chief Jeff Hadley said she doesn’t deserve to celebrate.

Leilani reported Quinton missing from their home on Buckhalter Road back on Oct. 5. His disappearance has had people in the community and around the country emotional and wanting justice for the toddler.

Tuesday, justice felt a step a closer some when Leilani was arrested facing charges of concealing a death, false statements, false report of a crime, and murder.
Good. They are filing all the charges they can. No plea deals are necessary here for her to tell them where his body is. Murdering him is bad enough. But then ending up as garbage?. Sickening.

Yes there is something about the disposal of their child as if they are garbage that just burns me to the core. I get it is probably expedient and one way and the quickest to get rid of the "evidence" or the body but it seems like such a statement of how little they thought of their own child. It makes me ILL.

And then goes out and parties on top of it.

When LE guy said she deserved no Thanksgiving holiday, I could have applauded him. So many these days won't make any kind of remark like that even though it FITS right on.

@Summer_Breeze

I read the same topic as above in AJC/Savannah News. It does not state specifically, but I assume she is in contempt for leaving the children in the care of Lelani.

What an adorable little boy. How could you?. Evil! Killed and thrown away. Sickening. There are plenty of women who wish(ed) They could have a child. Too many have them that shouldn't. Why did you?. And alot just keep having them. They are used as a source of income. It's a child, Not a job. Which I doubt they have ever had.

<snip>

Simon faces malice murder, two counts of felony murder, concealing the death of another, false report of a crime, making a false statement, and 14 counts of making a false statement.

The eight-page indictment reveals a few more details about what investigators believe happened to Quinton and how police say his mother continued to cover it up.

That is a bad day. A very bad day.

There was an object/instrument used in his death apparently.

Go back and watch her little video of how she couldn't put things out for him or grieve him and they couldn't use their yard, etc. because of people and how all she wants is for him NOT to be in the landfill, etc.

Disgusting PIG she is. And I think she fancies herself a good liar. She isn't. She is obvious as he77 but I guess the lies maybe worked with grandma.

FBI: Quinton Simon’s remains still undergoing testing

The FBI is still in possession of Quinton Simon’s remains.

What was found of the little boy’s body continues to undergo testing in a crime lab, a spokesperson for the FBI said.

According to the indictment, Leilani left her home the night of Oct. 4 to meet her drug dealer, and again early Oct. 5 to toss Quinton’s body in the dumpster at Azalea Mobile Home park.

That morning, Leilani told police that Quinton had been taken.

Leilani’s status hearing for Jan. 11 has been canceled. With her case now in Chatham County Superior Court, a status hearing is set for Feb. 13.
