AMBER Alert issued for missing 5-year-old out of Hawkins Co.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued a statewide AMBER Alert for a missing 5-year-old girl from Rogersville in Hawkins County Wednesday morning.

Officials with the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to WVLT News that Summer Moon-Utah Wells went missing Tuesday night. Sheriff’s Office officials are asking for the public’s help locating the child.

Summer Wells has blonde hair and was last seen wearing grey shorts and a pink shirt on Ben Hill road, officials said. She has been missing since 7 p.m. Tuesday.

TBI officials said Summer Wells may now have shorter hair than that pictured in earlier alerts.

"we needed cigarettes" was the excuse for getting the dui :sigh:
Yeah, I'm just hearing that. Watching a short detailed one on Plunder. Will read what you posted next.

What do you think the financial responsibility charge is? Maybe not paying child support?

I am very surprised they let him bail out with all of these charges that quickly on a Sunday.

their state is like mine and you have to carry vehicle insurance and show proof of current insurance if stopped

BREAKING NEWS. Donald Wells has been arrested again for violating probation. My mom told me it came on her TV. I am going to go look for it now.

Yeah, it could be anything. He may have an occupational and wasn't to be driving, etc. I kind of doubt he was on a "no drink" because he has been seen drinking and known to be drinking on many occasions to my knowledge. He did mention paying support for his boys so maybe he is behind on that but i think he mentioned that to say he couldn't really afford an attorney, etc., that finances aren't good.

I don't want to attack but I will say I guess it is pretty clear that Dr. Phil did not offer to pay a top facility and help and send him right off to rehab as they are home... Or it was declined... I am sure stress and all play in but this was such a poor decision imo. I would almost think he would be put on a no drink now or shortly this time if he hasn't been already...?

I don't watch Plunder always and almost never share her videos but am this one because if there is one thing she is great at, it is that she pays for and gets the actual court records and sometimes transcripts. So this video is almost all fact based on the arrest affidavit or incident report, etc. She makes a few remarks of her own at the end, etc. They are also usually fairly short, one doesn't have to find free hours to be able to watch them.

For instance, it says that Wells went to make a left turn and he turned into the grass, missing the road the way I take it. This was the reason he was initially pulled over. From there, the rest came, statemetns by Don, field sobriety tests, etc.

So I recently shared The Behavior Panel on the Cleo case and most liked them.

In Summer's case, they actually had Don Wells come into see them in person and he agreed. Mostly the panel covers TV interviews, etc., that they watch of people in judging body language and what they say, etc. but in this case they were able to interview him.

There are two videos, the first was just Don's full interview. Some time later, their analysis of it came out and that is the one I am posting. It is long, about an hour and a half... I had never finished it myself until this morning, just hadn't had the time. They also may be doing a Part 2 at some point.

So since it is lengthy, I'll just give the ending for anyone who can't watch it.

They feel Don is mostly truthful, all of them. They always say of course they could be wrong. Where they do find something though is that they think he has conflicts with his wife's story, or doubts or does not believe it or down those lines... Doesn't mean she is guilty I guess but they feel he is funny or not quite the same around this question and they feel he does maybe question, have doubts etc. as to what happened, his wife's account, etc. This seemed to be the consensus of them all.

Dates for the show released.

Parents of Summer Wells to appear on 'Dr. Phil' show Nov. 11-12

The parents of Summer Wells will appear on two episodes of the "Dr. Phil" television show next week, according to reports by multiple CBS affiliates across East Tennessee.

According to WJHL and other CBS stations, Summer's parents, Candus Bly and Don Wells, will appear on "Dr. Phil" on Nov. 11-12.

Don Wells speaks on camera for first time following DUI arrest, addresses family YouTube channel

The father of missing Hawkins County 5-year-old Summer Wells spoke with News Channel 11 Monday, marking the first time he has spoken on camera since he was arrested for driving under the influence.

On Monday, Wells said he has obtained a lawyer and cannot speak about the DUI arrest.

He also addressed the Wells’ YouTube channel and website, FindSummerWells.com, saying that the negativity from other YouTube creators was having a serious effect.

“I have to stay off the YouTube thing or be very careful about if I do anything on Youtube from now on because I have lost control,” Wells said. “I’ve done stupid things and for that I apologize. I’m just trying to be right, focus on our church and the things that our family, that we so much enjoy together.”

News Channel 11 will be providing in-depth coverage of the Search for Summer Wells on Thursday, Nov. 11 after the Wells appear on the Dr. Phil show.

Don Wells addresses recent arrests in interview, maintains Summer was abducted

In his first on-camera interview since going to Los Angeles and being charged, Wells told News Channel 11 that he knows he’s no “media darling.”

“I have lost control. I’ve done stupid things and for that, I apologize,” Don Wells said during a break from his sheetrock work in Jonesborough at Persimmon Ridge Park.

Wells says he has struggled emotionally since the disappearance of his daughter.

“You think of them going through torture or whatever they may be going through. It’s such a hard thing to think about and deal with, and all you can do is just pray to God that he’ll watch over them. It’s just an impossible thing to deal with,” he said. “God’s the only hope you have to deal with those sorts of things.”

Summer’s disappearance is not all he and his wife, Candus Bly, have been dealing with.

“We’ve had problems with threats and violence and all kind of things like that, and it’s been dangerous,” Wells said.

It’s clear to Wells how many people think of him.

“One guy said he was going to come see me with his 9mm gun, and since then I’ve been able to get a hold of him and talk to him. We actually, thank goodness, we had lunch together and we worked things out,” Wells said.

“It’s been dangerous for the people I work for, for everybody involved with us. It’s been dangerous not only for us but for everybody we’re involved with,” he said. “I was relieved actually when they took our boys out of our house. The welfare ain’t going to want them there, and I don’t want them there. Nobody would in their right mind.”

Summer’s older brothers were taken by Child Protective Services in July, which Don says has put a further strain now on the Wells’ marriage.

“Me and her have had a lot of problems because of this, and we’re both just down and miss our kids,” he said. “And don’t know exactly how to deal with all that.”

The couple stands together in what they think happened to their only daughter.

“Me and Candus know for a fact that Summer was abducted. We know that.”

News Channel 11 asked Wells how he was certain Summer had been abducted.

“Well, the reason that I know is because I know my wife, and I know what kind of emotions and the heartbreak that she’s been going through and the way everything happened when she called me,” he said.

Hawkins County Sheriff Ronnie Lawson and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation say they have found no evidence Summer was abducted.

“Why is it our property is any different than any other property where kids are abducted? What makes them think that our property is ‘Oh, there’s no way an abduction can happen here,’ but everybody else is probable but not this property?” shared Don.
