AMBER Alert issued for missing 5-year-old out of Hawkins Co.​

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued a statewide AMBER Alert for a missing 5-year-old girl from Rogersville in Hawkins County Wednesday morning.

Officials with the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to WVLT News that Summer Moon-Utah Wells went missing Tuesday night. Sheriff’s Office officials are asking for the public’s help locating the child.

Summer Wells has blonde hair and was last seen wearing grey shorts and a pink shirt on Ben Hill road, officials said. She has been missing since 7 p.m. Tuesday.

TBI officials said Summer Wells may now have shorter hair than that pictured in earlier alerts.

Interesting. Some things there I haven't seen. But she certainly "assumes" a lot of things and also runs with and even perpetuates rumors. Not a lot there that's fact-based, IMO.
I'm not advocating for a certain "theory" or on one side of the fence here. If someone harmed her, then they need to be held accountable, and I believe that they will be.
There is a lot of troubling info out there. There is also a lot of info that leaves other possibilities on the table. JMO.

I agree there was a lot in that audio that could have easily been taken out of context or relayed wrong it happens all the time.

Don Wells also told the news station that agents from the Department of Children’s Services have been helping the family cope with the stress and uncertainty, adding that Summer’s brothers are not doing well and have been fighting more at home.

“They’re kind of fighting more than usual,” said Wells. “They got into it first thing this morning, and the team come running up the hill, they heard screams, and so I’ve been trying to keep it down.”

Summary:

Summer is still missing. Utilizing all available resources.
Circumstances leading to her disappearance remain unclear so they're still looking into all possibilities.
Request for all residents to go back ASAP and check their entire property. Easier for you to check your own property than for officers/searchers to do so.
We will continue to search until we locate her.

Questions:
Has she wandered off before? Family says it's not common
Large search Saturday night based on a tip, why? Following up on a lead
How does the weather impact the search? Projected forecast (thunderstorms) will change the approach, like the terrain searched. Cannot put searchers in danger.
Will some crews have to return? Some crews are having some members stay back and then swapping out
Will this change to a recovery mode instead of rescue? It will be addressed at some point, but right now we're focused on finding her
You've said you had some surveillance video? Local residents have reached out with their own videos, we've looked at drivers in the area, etc.
How long does it usually take to find someone? Case by case
Day 6 now, how do you keep morale up? Searchers all have the same outlook, we won't quit. Breaks are encouraged to keep searchers strong. Searches don't stop, even at dark.
Can you tell us more about the investigation side? We've interviewed many people. Still working. This side won't stop either.
How is her family doing? I can't speak for them but they've spoken to you. They've been cooperative. Of course they're upset. We keep them updated.
Speculation / social media rumors? It's always a battle. We ask those with credible info to submit it. Receiving a lot of tips of screenshots of Facebook comments, that is not credible and it bogs down the system.
Has the family been ruled out? The circumstances are very much under investigation. We continue to explore all possibilities.

They have searched over 2,400 acres for this little girl and have found nothing as of today how heartbreaking. Has anyone found anything to confirm about the dogs tracking her to the road and then losing her trail? At this point I just don't think she is in the woods around their house if she was they would have found her by now I wouldn't think the little girl could move that fast if it's so dense and grown up that even grown men are having difficulty navigating their way around. Not sure what to think at this point though I guess anything is possible but I wonder if she did go to the road how far could she have gotten and which direction would she have gone? So many questions left unanswered in her disappearance I really hope something breaks soon so that she can be found.

The denseness could also mean that they could have possibly went right past her, too. Thick vegetation on rough terrain is nearly impossible to check every nook and cranny.
