The Zizian cult murders.
The apparent leader of a cultlike group known as the Zizians has been arrested in Maryland along with another member of the group, Maryland State Police said Monday.
Jack Lasota, 34, was arrested Sunday along with Michelle Zajko, 33, of Media, Pennsylvania. They face multiple charges including trespassing, obstructing and hindering and possession of a handgun in the vehicle.
A bail hearing for the the two is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Allegany District Court.
The Zizians have been tied to the killing of U.S. Border Patrol Agent
David Maland near the Canadian border in January and five other homicides in Vermont, Pennsylvania and California.
The daughter of a slain Delaware County couple as well as an apparent cult leader tied to multiple murders across three states were both arrested in Maryland, officials said.

A Pennsylvania woman who was a person of interest in her parents’ murders was arrested along with an apparent cult leader connected to multiple homicides across three states, including the killing of a U.S. Border Patrol agent, officials said.
On Sunday, Feb. 16, shortly after 2:30 p.m., Maryland State Police troopers arrested Jack Lasota, 34, of Berkely, California, Michelle Zajko, 32, of Media, Pennsylvania, and Daniel Blank, 26, of Sacramento, California, on Piney Mountain Road in Frostburg, Maryland.
