Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

If anyone followed the Alexis Sharkey case, her husband killed hiimself when LE showed up with a warrant for his arrest for her murder. The warrant was kept pretty hushed it says in the PC and was issued I think on September 29th. They determined his whereabouts, went to find him, determined he was there and he went upstairs and shot himself. Here is the PC.

According to police charging documents, Burnham went to the Ellicott City home of his brother, who was a pharmacist, to confront him about administering COVID-19 vaccines. Investigators based the motive on statements Burnham allegedly made to his mother, Evelyn Burnham, a day before the killings.

The charging documents state: "Jeffrey stated to Evelyn that he wanted to confront Brian about the government poisoning people with COVID vaccines and that he repeatedly stated, 'Brian knows something.'"

“There is, unfortunately, a considerable number,” he said during his weekly audience at the Vatican on Wednesday. “I would like to express to the victims my sadness and pain for the trauma that they suffered. It is also my shame, our shame, for the incapacity of the church for too long to put them at the centre of its concerns.”

Francis urged all bishops to take action to ensure “similar dramas are not repeated” while calling on Catholics in France to work towards ensuring that the church is “a safe place for all”.

I don't think so. I don't want to go down a political or religious or sexual walk here but just generally the requirement in the Catholic religion that priests be celibate.... Offhand I know of no other religion that is a requirement in. Now to me celibate would mean NO sex but... Maybe I'm off base but what normal man wants to join the priesthood and swear off sex for his entire life--at least in other religions a pastor can marry and have such and children. I feel they also put priests on a pedestal almost with God himself, that's a pretty powerful authority figure to children. I am not knocking all Catholics, nor the religion, nor the bible but I think the Catholic Church has always been rife for attracting such types AND add in the history and decades or longer of it and almost accepting it or hiding it...

In no way am I saying such has not occurred ever in other religions or churches but on this scale? Even percentage wise? For so long? I don't think so... Jmo.

This Scott Reisch video/Crime Talk/active defense attorney with a channel on YT has Vallow/Daybell first, then Petito I think, but at about 18 minutes or so in, close to 19 minutes, he has a military guy and his wife selling our country's secrets to "enemy" countries for $100,000! He put some in a peanut butter sandwich and more.

Outrageous. What is wrong with people? $100,000 would change my world to the end of my life and be wisely used but it is chump change for what this guy sold to sell us out, what he is facing, etc. and now a traitor. I give the time of where it comes on so if you don't want to watch the other cases on this video, you can choose and forward to this part. This case is only a couple of minutes of the video...
