Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

They said never dealt with a case this heartbreaking. I don't know why I never heard of this one as it is a mass murder by two family members. I also don't know how it works in that they were apparently mentally insane or incompetent but got life sentences. Does that mean they go to prison or a hospital? Regardless, what a tragic case.

Netflix is going to air this and People it sounds like is going to air a part on it. I wasn't going to post this one but I did want to remark how all perps find God in prison or even little old county jail on even lesser type charges. Watts knew God before prison from what I understand... The thought he is even in my state in prison disturbs me. Not just his wife, not just his unborn son, but his two adorable daughters he kills, over time and in different locations... There is nothing and no reason at all that excuses all of those very conscious choices, acts, movements, hiding of bodies, etc. I hope he has found God but I don't believe it for a second. He was able to go so far away from God in all of these acts for so long most likely (if he ever followed other than pretending to anyhow) for nothing but selfish gratification and desires. Anyone that had strayed that far and for that long and did these acts in no way just finds Him again.

And with this he will be getting even more attention, IMO just what he wants. He always came out with new 'confessions ' when things calmed down around him. Anadarko and the oil industry in Colorado won't be pleased to have this still in the public. Messes with their own agenda.jmo

What you said has a lot to do with why I debated sharing it. I hate giving killers more attention and Watts is a mass murderer. The headline the other month about him and Jake Patterson finding God and meeting each other sickened me to no end.

I did not follow this case in a way I was on any forum so I guess I don't know the oil agenda thing. Other than I can tell from your post they don't want focus or negative attention on them....

I think that this whole case was settled so quickly and easily because of the oil thing. That doesn't make CW less guilty, HE made the choices and is a POS. This is just my personal opinion.

He is a POS. I mean I know the case well enough as far as TV, news, shows, etc. I just never was online talking about it at the time. He is a total POS.

I can think of other cases that I think go to deals or sentences real fast because CPS, LE, an industry, higher ups, might be in question if it lingers or the public wonders... So if that is what the oil thing means I would not have a hard time believing it but don't know about it so I can't comment with any intelligence as someone informed on it as I admit I am clueless...

But yes, he is the POS and I don't believe even today he has found God. I am sorry. He may claim it, what else is he going to do... In his psycho way maybe he tells his folks and others that for canteen money... Or attention...

As I said, even though I did not follow it like daily or online or anything, I am well aware tons of people did, and that time in my life I had not come to the crime thing online with cases. Yet I know enough that I did not want to share the Netflix thing, etc. Because I tend to believe these kind of evil perps want that attention... And I try like hec* not to share more to give them that attention that I believe they need and seek.

I think though he should be studied like an ant or a rat... This was so far past anything... A serial killer is what most consider the worst... As bad and they are as a serial killer is the victims are generally strangers.... One can't really compare them, that is its own form of danger and evil. But Chris Watts did this to his little girls, etc.... Who likely adored him/daddy... That is a really far gone weird specimen of evil. I refuse to call him a man or a father. And it is click bait but his having their pictures in his cell bothers me as much as anyone who followed it more closely...

He is in our state prison. Moved as there were issues for him in Colorado, however, it is well known... So I would think the other inmates would know who he is...?

I hope that you don't think that what I wrote was somehow against you💞. It wasn't. When I hear something about this case my blood starts boiling, and all I can see are all those lives stolen by an idiot. And yes, he should be studied, just like the 'Disney Dad' . Rats in a Lab have alot more worth than those two 'individuals'. Will better go to bed now, lol!

No, I don't think that at all, not one bit. I was just trying to over-explain myself and say I did not follow the case to know all of the things so I can't speak to it and I try really hard not no to act like I know if I am uninformed, like with the oil thing, etc.

In NO way did I feel anything from you was at me at all. Not for a split second.

And yup we agree on rats and studies... Rats I think are smarter as well... Than these evil perps.

Eric Brown, the man accused of killing 19-year-old Ashanti Billie after abducting her from Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story in 2017, won’t stand trial.

U.S. District Court Judge Raymond Jackson ruled Tuesday that Brown can’t be restored to competency with medication. Brown was diagnosed with schizophrenia in December 2017 and he had taken drugs while in custody to relieve his symptoms, but they didn’t fully restore competency.

The prosecution is expected to now seek a civil commitment in the case to have Brown placed in a facility.
 
You know, in a strange way this is reminding me of SIDS. Give someone a case or reason that MAYBE in one or two cases was not the parent and then others use it... While I can believe on rare occasion this may be an accident, it is happening way too much and being used way too much. I would also go so far as to say some of these cases are possible first degree with intent... I have lost count of hot car deaths this year. Seriously. And those are just the ones I encountered online...
