Facing mounting financial pressure, Anthony Todt of Colchester killed his wife, three children and family dog at their house in Celebration, Fla., according to law enforcement and court records.

Osceola County Sheriff Russ Gibson called the quadruple murder “despicable” Wednesday and said Todt confessed.

Authorities took Todt, 44, into custody when they encountered him at the home at 202 Reserve Place Monday. He was arrested Wednesday on a warrant charging him with multiple counts of homicide and felony animal cruelty, Gibson said during a press conference at the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office that was live streamed on the Internet.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for a man indicted on four counts of first-degree murder in the slayings of his wife and three children at their Florida home near Walt Disney World.

State Attorney Aramis Ayala announced during a news conference Tuesday that an Osceola County grand jury had formally charged Anthony Todt, 44, with the four murder counts, plus one count of animal cruelty. Prosecutors had previously charged Todt with second-degree murder to keep him in custody until a grand jury could be convened. Florida law requires a grand jury indictment for capital crimes.

This man makes me physically ILL. Disgusting pig. That article was a hard read but informative. While he remembers nothing, he certainly managed to eat well while his dead family lost weight due to putrefying, etc. He looks like the dam* Pillsbury Doughboy he certainly was not wasting away over this time period. (No offense to the Pillsbury Doughboy intended).

Sometimes I don't even have words, and this is one of those cases...

What he did was HORRID enough but then he continues to blame the dead and a victim... Let him continue to hang himself with such things in writing, however, on the other hand HE SHOULD BE SILENCED as to trashing his wife falsely in public... In a March phone call from jail, Anthony Todt told his sister that he couldn’t stop his family from being murdered.

“I couldn’t stop this because I wasn’t there,” he told Chrissy Caplet, who lives in Connecticut but was in Florida at the time of the call after assuming power of attorney over her older brother.

In two calls between Todt and Caplet in March and April, Todt suggested that his wife, Megan, had been responsible for her own death as well as the deaths of their three children and family dog. He suggested that she may have tried to kill them before.

“There were multiple attempts, just so you know, multiple attempts in the last ... over a time frame, there’s been attempts,” Todt said in a quiet voice, almost a whisper. “Which is why this time I was stuck down here trying to handle things.”

When this case pops up with a remark, it takes a minute and I have to think which case is that and then instantly I remember. That this pasty faced spineless excuse for a man thinks he is relevant or he can convince anyone that his wife, a VICTIM, did this is disgusting.

Oddly, that's exactly what these people do. I believe that they think that the victim is at fault. Even though he doesn't proclaim that he's guilty, I think that he believed she's guilty and deserved it. That's usually the mindset.

I guess but he is claiming she committed the murders, not him which is not like him telling himself I may have killed her but she had it coming. He is just trying to find a way out of jail like the desperate worm he is. No different than Leticia Stauch with claims of conspiracies, trains and Eduardo and something Al was in on...

He was brought from jail to the Osceola County Courthouse and appeared in the courtroom Wednesday afternoon with his public defender. Court officials said an order was signed Wednesday transferring the case from Judge Wayne Wooten and Felony Division 201 to Judge Keith Carsten and Felony Division 301. Divisions 201 and 301 are both in Osceola County, Fla.

His case is set for a status hearing on Feb. 5, 2021, at 8:30 a.m. before Carsten. A trial date could be set at that time.

Yeah sure his attorney needs more time, must be like a nightmare to defend this guy...I always find it kind of heart-warming when Breezy is mentioned as well, that pup was a feeling being just like the other family members , but murdered pets are often ignored.

I was thinking that too. The dog should be a separate charge all on its own. He clearly wanted nothing to take care of or feed, only he mattered.
