Waukesha, WI Christmas Parade attack

Multiple victims have been transported from the scene to area hospitals via ambulance and others were taken by officers, after a red SUV drove through the Waukesha Christmas Parade, Waukesha Police Chief Daniel P. Thompson said in a press conference.

The Waukesha Police Department has sent a push alert to cellular phones in the area asking those "within a ½ mile radius of the 5 points downtown" to immediately shelter in place.

People were seen on the ground injured after the incident, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel intern Kaylee Staral, who was at the parade, told CNN's Pamela Brown Sunday night.

About "20 to 30 minutes into the parade a red SUV came running down the middle of the street -- there were a lot of screams -- and we almost thought maybe it was Santa but it was a red SUV and it hit a lot of people," Staral said.

NFL star JJ Watt, a Wisconsin native, says he’ll pick up the costs of funerals for the six victims of Sunday’s tragic Christmas parade attack.

The Arizona Cardinals defensive end, a Waukesha native who graduated from Peewauken High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, made the announcement through local media this week, Fox News said.

“JJ Watt is covering the funeral costs for everyone that lost their life in the Waukesha Christmas Parade,” journalist and author Cory Jennerjohn wrote on Twitter.

What a beautiful kind gesture.

An 11-year-old girl rammed by a career criminal in the Waukesha, Wis., Christmas parade massacre spent Thanksgiving unconscious in a hospital bed, clinging to life and breathing with the help of a ventilator, her distraught mother told The Post.

Jessalyn Torres, 11, is one of nine children injured in the Nov. 21 crash who are still being treated at Children’s Wisconsin Hospital.

“The hardest part was not being with everyone and Jessalyn, in the condition she is, was not able to be with her family either,” she said.

In a Thanksgiving note to her family and friends, Kohnke described the agony of watching her child struggle to breathe.

“Let me say this again… she is a fighter!” Kohnke wrote in the Facebook post.“I sat here and held her hand, kissed her head and just watched and cried and told her I was so proud of her.”

I could go on for some time over Wisconsin and bail... It is generally a notoriously low bail state or at least I can name more than a few counties that are AND hard to believe but some fairly serious crimes even have signature bonds... Not murder but you'd be surprised at what does get out on a signature bond or something as low as a $500 or $1,000 cash bond... If this was a case of one murder and not several deaths and injuries, I would about bet you the bond would be in the low five figures... Tops. Imo. Million dollar bonds are almost unheard of, much less 5 m.

In the northern half of the state (not where this crime occurred), the only million dollar bond I ever saw or heard of (not saying there weren't others but none I am aware of and doubtful) was the Closs case, and of course that was nationally known... I don't think they are all that common in the southern part of the state either...

Anyhow, what kind of troublemaker was trying to get support for this perp in this crime here with a GFM??

Wasn't Vallow and Daybell case also $5m bail? The guy's name who started this GFM was in the article.

From my link above-

"It was set up by someone under the name James Norton, who called the convicted pedophile and accused mass killer “our dear friend.”

Darrell Brooks appears in court. The fundraising effort insisted Darrell Brooks was a victim of a “racist” justice system.Mark Hoffman/Milwaukee Journal Sentinel/USA Today Network/Sipa USA
“As someone who knows Darrell personally I can tell you that he would NEVER do such a thing and I know he is innocent of what he was charged with,” the fundraiser claimed of Brooks, whose rap sheet stretches over decades.

“I am seeking to raise the bail so Darrell can be released and speak his truth to his side of the story in this tragic situation that sees another black man behind bars in a purely political and racist trial,” it stated.

“There is no excuse for this continued treatment of black Americans by prosecutors around the country,” the fundraiser claimed.

“We ask that he be treated equally as anyone else in this country would be treated and he should be released until found guilty,” it said, according to the screenshots.

It ended, “#BLM, #IStandWithDarrell, #NoJusticeNoPeace and #RacismIsReal.” "

Daybell I think was 1 mill with the first charges BUT I have no idea what it became after murder charges were finally filed. It may be much more now.

This guy sounds like a real winner (not). Someone apparently thinks so starting a GFM for him.

Talking bail, I guess we should mention Ghislaine Maxwell who has been denied bail as a flight risk I believe. Trial starts Monday. I couldn't find a thread yet. Prince Andrew will be following pretty closely, I think.

It is to be televised isn't it? I have it in my head it is but they fought to request it not be but I could be wrong. Yeah, I imagine the prince will be holed up somewhere watching intently... I don't suppose he has been called as a witness...? Jk. Sort of.

I can't stand that woman and her continuous thought she is special, should be out and shouldn't be treated as other prisoners are, etc...
