Multiple victims have been transported from the scene to area hospitals via ambulance and others were taken by officers, after a red SUV drove through the Waukesha Christmas Parade, Waukesha Police Chief Daniel P. Thompson said in a press conference.

The Waukesha Police Department has sent a push alert to cellular phones in the area asking those "within a ½ mile radius of the 5 points downtown" to immediately shelter in place.

People were seen on the ground injured after the incident, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel intern Kaylee Staral, who was at the parade, told CNN's Pamela Brown Sunday night.

About "20 to 30 minutes into the parade a red SUV came running down the middle of the street -- there were a lot of screams -- and we almost thought maybe it was Santa but it was a red SUV and it hit a lot of people," Staral said.

He shouldn't even be out with that record. More brilliant minds of the justice system. I heard 2 dead before. Now 5. POS! I know at least 1 dead of the 1st 2 dead was a child and another child was in intensive care. He liked making victims of people before this.

This is a link to the local Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. I don't know how this is not termed a "terror" incident. Thousands will be affected by this.

You're absolutely right. And especially the children. I hope with his record he gets life with no parole. Unfortunately Wisconsin doesn't have the death penalty.

I agree with both of you. They have to hold off on calling it a terror incident until they put everything together. I'm not really sure what the legal definition of "terror" is. It sure seems like it should qualify. I think in order to be considered a terror incident it would have to be tied to some kind of political statement like the Oklahoma bombing was. We don't know yet what the motive is.
